WHAT? The last review for Half Pint was from 2012? Half Pint deserves more buzz! I had the pleasure of trying Half Pint Ice Cream for the first time at Urban Craft Uprising… even though my ice cream connoisseur friend had been raving about her for the last 3 years. When I saw the booth, I knew it was finally going to happen. I had their Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookie(with chewy cookie chunks!) and Raspberry ice cream. Single scoop priced at $ 3.50, double scoops at $ 5.00, and a pint at $ 8. She’s no longer at the Broadway Farmers Market, so I will have to hunt her down at the U-District Farmers Market. P. S. She accepts credit cards! YAYYYYY!

So I always feel sorbets should be tart and rhubarb isn’t normally a tart but normally a sweet flavor. Nope she made tart delicious rhubarb sorbet that tasted amazing. I then tried her lemon swirl which was not uniform and actually that made it taste even better. At points it tasted like lemon truffle candy center and at other parts like a lemon bar. When I couldn’t decide between the two flavors she packed me a half and half pint of both. I’ll definitely be back. This is definitely one of my favorite ice creams

So I was at the Broadway Farmers Market this morning just before it opened and this woman came up to me and said she wanted me to give her Ice cream a second chance. She, the owner of Half Pint, and I chatted for a few minutes and she convinced me. She has a new super fancy ice cream spinner that freezes a batch in just 7 minutes so ice crystals don’t have time to form. Well she gets one star just for having he balls to confront me on my Unilocal. And an additional star because the ice cream is much better! Had the coffee chocolate swirl very tasty and the texture is much much better although not as smooth as Molly Moon’s… But again her flavor profile is far superior to MM. With all the ice cream on the hill you gotta be strong to survive. And I think with half pints delicious flavors they will probably be a fine frozen addition to our little hood.

First time trying Half Pint at the Broadway Sunday Farmers Market and they have a winner here, I tried the Coffee Chocolate Swirl and it was nice and creamy and very flavorful the Bf wanted this also then he decided on the praline, and they said he could get a half scoop of each How Freaking cool is that? no one offers half scoops these days. oh yeah we will be back but get there early if its hot out they do run out that’s why it took me so long to try them I wanted the Coffee and it was worth the wait in my eyes

I reviewed Half Pint last summer when they were just starting, and this year they are even better! The owner, Cle, says that she got a new ice cream machine that makes it even creamier — without adding corn syrup or any additives like some OTHER ice creams. And now they’re at 4 farmers’ markets! This cart is really a crowd-pleaser: always a great mix of classic and foodie flavors.

Definitely some of the best ice cream of had, and potentially the best in the Seattle area. Half pint has flavors ranging from classic chocolate, to toasted coconut, to basil-raspberry sorbet — and they’re all delicious. Half pint works out of Capitol Hill, Phinney Ridge, and a few other farmer’s markets and uses as many organic, local ingredients as possible. So it feels good to eat it!

This great ice cream stand has also been at the Friday Phinney Farmer’s Market towards the end of this summer, and what a treat! I’d reccommend the mexican chocolate, the coconut-lime, the coffee with cookies-n-cream. The best deal(if you can stand to wait ’til you get it home) is the $ 7 packed pint, which lasted this ice-cream lover the whole week and into the next. Get there as early as you can, and always ask to sample! They accept checks too.

Saw some gorgeous doggies and patted a biggg bunny at the Farmers’ market, bought some fabulous Walla Walla onions, succulent tomatoes, delicious pretzels, marvelous honey and had a scoop of the grittiest peach(?) ice cream I have ever had in my life. Fine that it’s organic;but ice CREAM-no, no more like ice milk with maybe a peach pit thrown in for flavor. No taste whatsoever, the color was anemic, the texture wasn’t lickable. Sorry Half Pint;but I’m going back to the frozen yoghurt even if I do get a bad case of brain freeze with every bite. At least the flavor is there and it is, also, organic.$ 3.00 seems a bit pricey for a cup of frozen milk.

Ok, even though I fulfilled the requisite high school job as an ice cream slinger in middle america, I wouldn’t call myself an ice cream lover. In fact, I kinda hate how thirsty it makes me in that sweet, unquenchable way. I probably crave ice cream about 2 times a year. And I hate it with cake… I know… I’m terrible. So let me make it clear to you how amazing ice cream has to be in order for me to crave it during a regular week. Or even three regular weeks in a row! This is what Half Pint ice cream has done to me. I had one bite of the Mocha Almond, and I was a believer… in Half Pint that is. What’s better after walking around the Broadway Farmer’s market that’s located in a black asphalt parking lot after buying fresh pasta, fresh sausage, and petting the insanely large bunny rabbit that hangs by the guy who sells honey? A friggin’ scoop or two of Half Pint’s toasted coconut or cappuccino chip! It seems like there are around 4 or 5 flavors a week, and they seem to change each week. So when I went last Sunday, I could not partake in the beauty that is Mocha Almond(sidenote; Half Pint uses Victrola beans for the coffee ice cream). I’ve tasted a lot of the flavors and I can’t even complain one iota. They are all supremely delicious. But you have to get there early! A few weeks ago I got there around 1:45 and she was pretty much almost out of everything.
