Total Wine & More

Awesome liquor, beer, and wine selection. Prices are better than their competitors in the area as well. Hey, and they sell non-​alcoholic beverages to people without IDs unlike the place a couple blocks from them. I really think this is one of the best places in the state of Washington to buy spirits.

Great selection and filling growlers with Manny’s is a plus. However this location lacks in customer service– not very friendly or outgoing compared to Bellevue location:(. Disappointed.

We Live nextdoor and we buy drinks here a lot… so it’s safe to say that we’ve had different encounters with some staffs. Most are friendly and few our meh… Just few though But this review is mainly because I wanted to commend «MYESHA» the nicest lady We’ve ever encountered at the register. She is super Nice and friendly. Very energetic and entertaining, knowledgeable and fast at what she does! :-) I Like buying here when she’s on the register. who does not Love great customer Service!

I went to Total Wine and More today after work (who couldn’t use an after work bottle of champagne), and was really impressed with Myesha. She was so friendly and helpful. I work in customer service, and I know that sometimes midway through your shift right before a day off the mind tends to wander, but she was so nice. It’s hard to go wrong with a giant store full of tasty beverages, so this review is specifically for awesome customer service. Thank you so much for being so friendly! :)

After being treated rudely by the BevMo Northgate staff a few time, I started going to the Total Wine in Lynnwood. Never had a problem there. Nice store, decent folks.
When they opened the Northgate store I headed there to check it out and have consistently found it well staffed with folks who know their stuff in general, and if they don’t know it themselves don’t hesitate to dig up someone who does.
Top that off with good selection, & good prices.
What’s not to like?

chivas regal used to be 19.99 like it is at costco. now it has been increased to 23.99.
so i left total wine and went to costco and bought two bottles and saved
ten dollars.
oh, and i found other good deals there.

Great selection! Knowledgeable and helpful staff; fast and helpful check-​out and great parking. Their new «member points» program is confusing and weird, but this is my go-​to place for wine and liquor.

I special ordered a keg of Breakside Wunderlust from Total Wine for a housewarming party I threw and it was super easy and a pleasure dealing with these guys from start to finish.
The keg deposit process, acquiring the tap, the return– all super easy.
Their team are really nice and happy to spend the time with customers who have questions.
Parking is easy and they have easily the best prices and best selection of beer and spirits in the city. I used to visit Total Wine when I lived in Charleston, SC– and really missed it when I moved to Seattle to find it hadn’t made it’s way West yet. I was super stoked when they opened up around Seattle– and it’s definitely my go-​to for any kind of booze.

Opened no long ago and this place has very nice staff that will do their best to help you out.

This place is your one-​stop shop for all your booze-​y needs. Beer? Check. 100+ varieties of your favorite gin/​vodka/​bourbon/​scotch? Check. Bitters? Yup. Helpful staff at every corner to steer you and your liver towards whatever you need is a big help. And a giant parking garage with plenty of space so you don’t have to hunt for a spot. Just get in, get your bottle (s), get you!

Hands down my favorite place to go for alcohol, wine & more! Store was spotless & the staff was friendly. I forgot the guy who helped us (had facial hair & glasses) but he was a hoot! Gave us great recommendations on wine & left happy. Thanks!

Good lord this place is absolutely ridiculous. I am so stoked to be able to browse wine that’s properly organized by country and region, instead of the ridiculous categories that supermarkets come up with. An entire section for Piedmont Italian reds?! Ahhhhhhh
Oh and there’s about 2,000,000 liquor producers that I have never even heard of! Local, small batch whiskeys and just a really diverse selection of distilleries from all over the country and beyond. I like Bulleit and Buffalo, but I honestly can’t see myself buying them anymore with all this crazy selection of whiskey at my fingertips!

Absolutely love this place.
This place is a booze/​beer/​wine lover’s dream! The selection is fantastic, the store is organized well, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. A big plus are the tastings that they offer (wine, beer, and sometimes spirts) for free! Also, don’t forget to bring your growler and get it filled with your favorite brew for ~$ 8.
This is definitely where we will be coming to get our alcohol for whatever occasion is happening. You should too, you won’t be disappointed.

UPDATE: Around April 1^st, TotalWine jacked up prices on many spirits by around 10%. I know that prices increase from time to time, but an across the board increase of 10% seems out of line. Liquor taxes in this state are absurd already, but c’mon TW, you do so much volume of sales already. Bevmo is competitive again. I lowered teh rating from 5 to 4 stars.

Out of curiosity and word from others, I stopped in the other day and found they had lots of parking, a good start. Walking inside, I was astounded by the size of the place and the immense selection of alcohol. Bevmo now seems like a 7 – 11 in comparison.
The service is great and they are willing to work with you if you really don’t like something you buy.
I’m a whiskey guy and was very happy with the selection available, and the sections devoted to WA state brands. The fellow I talked to seemed to know his stuff.
Their prices put Bevmo and Wine World to shame, although Bevmo apparently will match their prices. Bevmo had better get more competitive up front or they will become ghost towns.

I came in looking for 2 bottles of wine and ended up leaving with 12 bottles… whoops.
Total wine has a giant selection and I like how the store is set up in an easy to navigate manner. Wine’s are organized by type alphabetically and they also offer liquor, beer, and snacks. Definitely a one stop shop. I found one of my favorite wines for the lowest that I’ve ever seen it. Total wine gets direct shipments from many wineries, thus allowing for lowered prices. Garage parking makes it easy to get in and out.

Hands down, this place totally beats out Bev Mo. I can’t believe I didn’t come here to buy wine a couple of months back when it just opened and opted to buy stuff at Bev Mo. This store is so superior because of the following reasons:
1) Great customer service. Everyone here was helpful and really nice. One lady had on this really festive Christmas sweater and seemed eager to point us in the right direction in finding the right Muscato wines. We stopped another guy who worked there and he took the time to give us recommendations on which wine to order.
2) They have free tastings on the weekend. Oh my goodness, their tastings are awesome. We got to taste a variety of Champagnes, rose, apple cider, prosecco, coffee liqueur, and gin. They actually gave pretty generous pours so you can actually truly experience each type of alcoholic beverage. All of the tastings that we had were complimentary. It was an unexpected surprise to do so much tastings here.
3) The prices are pretty competitive (comparable to Costco). The alcohol here is definitely more affordable here than at Bev Mo. Also, I felt like the selection was more varied.
4) They have great coupons that they offer to customers. Make sure you pay attention to their advertisements. We found free wine and pilsner glasses with no purchase necessary coupon here.
Great shop. I’ll definitely come here again.

They have everything and at the best prices. The service is top notch they really know their stuff. They have tastings every weekend.

The staff at Total Wine seems to be very knowledgeable in regards to wines and wine pairings, they were very helpful and very friendly when asked about their products.
This is a awesome, one stop shopping for all of your wines needs, plus a great selection of craft beer and spirits, and about everything that you may need along with said Spirits and beer.
They also do plenty of tastings!
Stop on in you will be glad you did.

Washington State voted on removing state control of liquor sales twice between the years of 2010 and 2011. The first time, concerned about the loss of tax dollars in the midst of the worst economic recession of my life, I confidently voted no – and so did the majority of voters. That initiative, 2010’s 1105 was voted down 65% to 35%. The second time around I was more divided. On one hand, I always felt the state liquor stores were silly, utilitarian and even puritan (most were closed on Sundays.) On the other hand, I was deeply uncomfortable with the initiative primarily because it was bankrolled by billion dollar companies that stood to make billions of additional dollars in revenue. Voters saw it a different way, however and approved initiative 1183 59% to 41%. Whether this initiative passed because it was a better solution or simply because voters were fatigued by the repetition (dear God, make it stop!!!), I don’t know. I suspect it was a bit of both.
For my part, I was so deeply conflicted on Initiative 1183 that I simply punted and didn’t vote on the initiative at all. In my entire adult life I have only missed an election one time, due to last minute travels that didn’t allow me time to get an absentee ballot. And of all the times I have voted, this is the only time I can remember skipping a vote because I couldn’t decide. So, when the initiative ultimately passed, I was ambivalent – just as I would have been had it failed.
Shortly thereafter, the first private liquor stores opened and existing stores – groceries, drug stores, and of course, big box stores, began renovating to accommodate new inventory. For their part, consumers were in for a rude awakening as the dream of cheap booze met the reality of a heavy tax burden. The news was full of people complaining that they couldn’t buy that gallon of Makers for $ 6.99. Not much changed for me. I still purchased my wine and beer primarily at the local QFC. On the rare occasion that I needed to purchase some spirits, either QFC or Rite Aid met my needs.
And then I discovered Total Wine and More and everything changed.
Like red blends? Total Wine and More doesn’t just have a few bottles, or even a few rows. No, Total Wine and More has literally shelf upon shelf upon shelf. A cursory count of different options yielded somewhere in the range of 500 different bottles, ranging from $ 5.99 to $ 79.99.
The same goes for Cabernet Sauvignon. How much Cabernet Sauvignon does the Northgate Total Wine and More carry? By my estimates, over 600 feet of shelf space. That’s right, 100 feet of shelves by 6 feet tall.
Prefer Merlot? Syrah? Chardonnay? Prepare to be blown away!
According to Total Wine and More’s website, a typical store carries more than 8,000 different wines from every wine-​producing region in the world. While it may be true that the Northgate store is smaller than some of its sister stores in the area, there’s certainly no shortage of anything – from cheap weeknight options to high end, take with you to your favorite restaurant options.
And then there’s the «more» part.
Total Wine and More features 2500 beers, ales, ciders, non-​alcoholic drinks and 3000 different types of spirits.
Where to even start?
On a recent trip to the Northgate store, I was stating to my wife that I really would like to increase my knowledge of spirits. Perfectly timed an associate entered our aisle and asked if he could help with anything.
«Could you tell me a bit about these different whiskeys?» I asked.
It was almost as if this associate had been prepping all his life for that question. The detail that he went into and the enthusiasm and knowledge he displayed was genuinely impressive. One got the sense that he had this depth of knowledge not just for whiskey, but literally every type of spirit that Total Wine and More carries – which is everything – from exotics such as Absinthe or Pernot to more lowbrow options such as Trader Vic’s White Chocolate Liqueur.
Of course, talking about wine and spirits is hardly a substitute for actually tasting the assortment and Total Wine and More has tastings every Friday, Saturday and Sunday often featuring local wine makers, brewers or distillers. It’s a great place to start, but if I’m going to get through those 500 bottles of red blends, it’s going to take a concerted effort and lots of discipline. I feel like I’m up for the job!
Pro-​tip: Since Total Wine and More opened, I’ve seen at least 3 $ 15 off $ 100 coupons arrive at my house. It is definitely worthwhile to sign up to be on the mailing list.

I can’t give 5 stars to this brand new location, because it felt smaller than the stores in Bellevue, Tukwila/​Southcenter, or Lynnwood. They seemed to have a smaller beer selection than those stores do, and they had every variety of McClelland single malt Scotch Whisky BUT the one I buy, the Highland. I also couldn’t find Fearless Scotch Ale 4-​packs, only individual cans, which, of course, cost more. There were no obvious employees working the beer section, so after walking up and down that section, I gave up. No one was working the growler station, which is unfortunate for them, because there were customers there who looked as if they were interested in buying some fresh draft beer.
So at this point, it’s only worth driving over there if I end up buying a bunch of other things. The parking garage only has one exit/​entrance, but it’s brand new, and well lit. I realize it was their first day, but they only had two cashiers working, and the registers were having difficulty with those who had coupons. Which isn’t unexpected, however, there should have been more than two employees cashiering. Every time I’ve been to the Bellevue store, there are always plenty of workers ready to answer questions and/​or look something up for you, but this store felt a lot more like the Lynnwood store, which hasn’t measured up to the other King Co stores, in my experience.
But it’s nice to have another place to buy decent beer at a reasonable price — and I’ll continue looking forward to getting a Total Wine in Interbay, whenever that might finally happen.
