Top Pot Doughnuts

This is the CLINK Top Pot so, it is overpriced, limited in selection and stuck with not very fresh donuts. Skip it and get the real thing at real location.

I have to say, I’m a huge Top Pot fan. I was excited to see them at Qwest Field. Hell yes I wanted a chocolate donut topped with blue and green sprinkles.
But unfortunately, the plastic wrap that they put the donuts in (only at the stadium) does something to them. Something very bad.
I’ve tried them twice at 2 different Sounders games. Once on a cold day, and once on a warm day. They sucked both times, and both times I threw them out unfinished. Usually it would take a crowbar to get a Top Pot out of my hands. They were heavy and cakey and tasteless. They lacked all of the fineness of a normal Top Pot treat. So my very scientific conclusion is that the plastic wrap ruins them.
Sad, sad, sadness.

I was pretty excited to see the Top Pot «hand forged» logo pop up on the electronic advertising boards around the field at Qwest. I thought it sent a nice message to go local, instead of the normal big business ads that flash about the pitch. I was even more excited when I found out that Top Pot would actually be serving coffee and doughnuts at Qwest! The hot drinks they have offered during rainy Sounders and Seahawks matches were pretty awful, so this seemed like a turn for the better.
But, man, these doughnuts are just not up to Top Pot snuff. Their offering include two flavors of pre-​packaged, incredibly dense donuts. I’ll admit, I think it’s charming that they’ve sprinkled the chocolate one with blue and Rave Green jimmies/​sprinkles/​whatever, but the doughnut was unpleasantly cakey. To make matters worse, as I tore open the plastic wrap, I also saw the calorie count. Ugh. Not worth it.
I haven’t tried the coffee or hot chocolate yet, but they must be an improvement over the hot drinks offered by other vendors. People I saw with TP drinks seemed happy enough with the product.
I welcome TP’s presence at Qwest. Just as with Kidd Vally and Jones Soda, I’m happy to see unique local offerings that you don’t see in other big league stadiums. However, as you would imagine, the prices are hugely inflated compared to what you would pay at a «real» Top Pot, and the food just isn’t good enough to warrant it.
If you know you’ll be hungry during a match, I’d recommend you grab a bite at one of the dozens of street vendors outside the stadium rather than eagerly anticipate a Sounders-​themed doughnut inside the stadium. You’re money will be better spent, the stadium staff will allow you to take it to your seat, and you can always support Top Pot by either having a cup hot chocolate at half time when you’re soaked and shivering, or simply by going to one of their other locations after the match and getting the quality doughnut you crave.
If you do need a match-​time doughnut, they have multiple kiosks around the concourse. You’ll see one if you just start circling.
