The best donut shop in Seattle! Not only are the donuts made fresh every morning, but the other food items are made fresh right as you order. It may seem unassuming but you will not be disappointed. On top of the great food, the customer service is great. They are always friendly when you walk in the store. I highly recommend the cinnamon twist or the maple bar, but honestly, you can’t go wrong. While other donut shops in Seattle may be better known, the product, price and service here can’t be matched!

Summary– expensive(for donuts) but best donuts I have had in Seattle. Top Pot, who? I lived in the South and Mid-West, and as our rate of Type II diabetes shows, we know our fried and sugary foods. That being said, I have been very disappointed with the donut game in Seattle, so when my friends was like, «OMG, these donuts,» I was like, «Cool story, bro. Heard that about Top Pot.» I was so happy to be so very wrong. My standard is do I enjoy a simple glazed donut from a place? This place passed the test. I had a bite of several varieties, and they were all fantastic from the apple fritter to the maple bar. In fact, they are so well known for their maple bar, they have pre-compiled boxes of them. However, I find them a little on the pricey side of things for donuts. It’s not going to break your bank for a dozen, but I’m used to paying less. That being said, this is the ONLY donut place I would take my Mid-Western and Southern friends in Seattle.

The other day I was so hungry working late around 10PM and found this place still open. The food was good specially the bulgogi, not too expensive and you can smell the donut being backed back of the kitchen. If you need a real food and tired of the burger fast food, this is a place to go.

Went there this morning as my first stop on my donut tour it was cool a little over priced for just regular donuts. They had an apple filled donut that was worth the trip back.

Solid lunch spot at a reasonable price for this area. Donuts are good like most mom and pop don’t places. They do those right. For lunch, there’s the huge benefit of having plenty of space and not having a line out the door like the Teriyaki spot next door. Most places in SoDo have a line or the door at noon. You can usually find a seat here. The food is solid at a reasonable price for the area. Parking is limited. Eclectic menu of basic Korean meat and rice dishes with Deli sandwiches of the traditional ham and cheese variety(etc), fish and chips, and such.

I was in need of a fix and came across Dona Queen’s Apple Fritter at Uwajimayas. Best desicion I’ve made all year. This was 2nd to none. We immediately went back but the other one had already been sold. So we bought an assortment of other doughnuts. And thankful we did. Still great flavors to try. Yummers.

Clean and bigger than expected. The guy helping us looked like he was helping out and not normally behind the counter — he was very helpful getting our questions answered, though, and very endearing. Great donuts! We tried 5 amongst us — a chocolate glazed cream filled, an apple fritter, a maple bar, a simple frosted and sprinkle adorned cake donut, and a glazed twist. The fritter was nice and crunchy on the outside but super soft and moist on the inside. The twist was pretty much perfect! The others were great as well. We’ll be back, for sure!

Thank goodness I live in Shoreline and I only stop in if I’m in the SODO neighborhood. I just had to post after my third visit today — where I got a dozen for $ 11.50! Yes, I like Top Pot, Delite Bakery, Frost in Mill Creek, and Krispy Kremes… but these doughnuts taste amazing! Whether plain, filled or frosted — they’re all good. It’s one of those places that you can just point and you can’t go wrong with your selection. Plus the Asian gentleman(most likely the owner) behind the counter has been consistently friendly and provided great customer service the three times I’ve stopped in(for 6, then 2, today 12). A highly recommended treat!

Oh my goodness! Their donuts are one of the best donuts I’ve had! They beat Borrachini/Delite bakery and any chained store donuts. My coworker brought some in for a bday celebration and my goodness, I think it has crack in it bc no one was able to just have one, we had to have seconds AND I’m still thinking about it. I’m the plain Jane type of gal. Bring on the glazed donuts(twisted with cinnamon or not) but as long as its glazed and not jelly filled, I’m good. The bakery is light and fluffy, not over doing it on the size. It’s sweet but not overly sweet like you’ll get a cavity after one donut. Everything is perfect! I may have to go there personally and get some. Then again, I probably shouldn’t. If I physically know where it is. I may go broke going there every chance I get AND eventually get cavities, potentially increase in midsize due to sugar/carb intake. I’ll leave it to the coworker to bring it on special occasions. Drools.

I was doing an early morning run to the airport to drop a friend off after a great Seattle weekend when we were craving a morning coffee and pastry when we hit the SoDo area. I thought that surely nothing but a 24-hour drive through chain would be open at 4:45am, but sure enough, we found this place and were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by the friendly man behind the counter and just a minute or two after we arrived, he pulled out two trays of fresh croissants from the oven. Best. Thing. Ever. They were so delicious(of course everything seems to be better when it is just out of the oven!)…I tried both the plain one and the ham and cheese. Both were flaky, flavorful and delicious. They also had a great assortment of donuts available if you are craving something sweeter in the morning hours. For a place that starts their morning so early, I thought they provided high quality coffee and baked goods with cheerful customer service… what more could you want at 4:45am on a Monday morning? It was a great end to a wonderful visit!

My wife’s Saturday routine. She never walks out with just ONE doughnut, but I don’t mind. Everything from their cake donuts to the filled ones are irresistible. This is our favorite place for donuts!

This is my husbands secret donut shop. He seems to think it is a cheap, excellent donut. So the other morning when I wanted to go to Mighty O but traffic and time wouldn’t let me — he suggested we go here. We got a Maple bacon bar(good but not the best I’ve had) and his favorite, an apple fritter(which was very tasty). I think it was a little on the pricey side($ 1.95 each). I’d definitely come back but I wouldn’t make a special trip…

The heavens have answered my prayers, and my taste buds are beyond happy! I’ve been in search for a great maple bacon bar that doesn’t cost a fortune, isn’t only made once a year or limited to one donut per person(whatever Top Pot — I still love you but once a year for Elvis’ b-day only and only one per customer? What the whatta?), or have to drive 3 hours away to Portland to get(ooh Voodoo Donuts, you were a dream but you’re another state away)! Is it too much to ask for something that is sinful yet seems so simple to make? Well, my prayers have been answered when I finally drove to SoDo to Dona Queen Donut after reading on Unilocal that they had maple bacon bars. I’m glad to say I found what I wanted and it was BEYOND delicious! They cook their bacon fresh daily(owner says they make a great in-house BLT so that’s the bacon they use), and he places 4 generous, crispy pieces to top off each maple bar for only $ 1.99/ea – what a deal! The donut itself has just enough chewiness, is super fresh, sweet and then when you mix the bacon to that, OMG your mouth will thank you! Sweet + savory = perfection! Anyway, hope you all will make the drive there because it’s so worth it! Owners are wonderful as well, very helpful. :-)

The place was actually a bit hard to find as one listing had it on 3rd ave, not 4th. I arrived about an hour before they closed to bring a dozen donuts and a few coffees back to the office for the guys. The nice asian lady helped me out and threw in some extras for us. The dontus themselves were above average and didn’t taste stale like those Dunkin’ Donuts do in the afternoon. Will definitely return.

So when someone mentions donuts in Seattle, usually places like Top Pot come to mind. Well one of my co-workers mentioned Dona Queen and said that the donuts there were awesome. Well I decided to give it a shot and test the ‘awesomeness’ of their donuts. Well I got their early and they had just opened. Dona Queen is south of the stadiums. There’s nothing fancy about the Dona Queen. In fact I would almost describe it as a hole-in-the-wall type of place. Anyways the donuts were fresh out of the oven. So I tried one of the glazed donuts as well as lemon jelly filled donut. Both, I thought were very good donuts. I could best describe them as being kind of like Krispy Kreme donuts, just not as light and fluffy. So apparently this place also serves sandwiches or food items, but I didn’t try any of them. If you’re hankering for a donut this place is worth a stop.

Dona Queen consistently puts out some of the best doughnuts in Seattle, period. And they’ve done it without the fanfare and hype of all thoseother trendy doughnut places. It’s a small and unassuming shop in a nondescript strip mall, nothing you’d look twice at, but they work hard and take pride in what they produce. The maple bars and apple fritters are real standouts and get there early enough and they’re still warm! Of course, if the lure of fresh doughnuts isn’t enough for you, there’s also Korean food available for lunch. Such surprises from an unlikely space! Anything they have on the menu is far better than the teriyaki or the Arby’s fare from their neighbors.

Got a ham and cheese stuffed croissant. It was delicious and inexpensive. The ham was quality black forest kind, very flavorful. The service was very friendly. Sadly, I did not try the donuts, and I could not bring myself to order espresso, as it just doesn’t look like the kind of place that would take their espresso seriously. But maybe I’m wrong. Not much for atmosphere, but this is Sodo, after all.

Total diamond in ruff, hiding in an odd little strip caddy corner from Esquin. A buddy of mine introduced me to this place, and I love everything about it. *I have only had the breakfast* I’ve tried a couple of their breakfast sandies which were good for the price. My favorite thing is their maple bacon donut!!! The make the bacon fresh every morning and O MAN you will get week in the knees for this fried piece of bread. For a $ 1.99 it’s totally worth it, not skimping on the bacon here. Add a cup of Joe for a buck and you are so set for the morn! Looking forward to trying their lunch as well. A really sweet couple runs the place. They care about their customers opinions and always ask for input.

A lunch stop for all collars in the neighborhood. In the heart of SoDo lies a fasinating mix of foods, burgers, curry, teriyaki & donuts? All made fresh in-house. Super fast, friendly service. Dona’s is a Xanadu rising out of the diesel fumes among greasy spoons on 4th Ave. *Not just donuts, but some of the best French Crullers. Ever.*
