I got back on Unilocal after 4.5 years of not writing any reviews just to plug this business. Bob, the proprietor, provides a level of customer service that’s nearly extinct these days. If you need to rent formal wear in Seattle, just go straight to lower Queen Anne and find Bob.

Excellent service for my wedding last may. The owner is a very helpful and caring man who always wants to see you at your best. The quality of his rentals is higher than most larger brands. The dress shirts are not the thin nearly transparent types you see at the chain stores and he’s always willing to go the extra mile for his customers. Couldn’t recommend it more.

I needed a tux for a company party and this was my first time renting a tux, or actually wearing a tux. Based on the Unilocal ratings, I decided to try out the tuxedo club.
A little bit about me, I am a tall and very skinny guy (wears 35L and 29W). Hence anything ready made is out of question. I was skeptical that I can get anything for my size via rental so I called ahead to make sure that my visit will not be in vain. Bob, the owner of the tux shop convinced me that he will have something for me and so me and my friend visited the tuxedo club.
Bob brought one tux, and it fit me perfectly and it looked great. We weren’t sure if a Cummerbund, vest or suspenders would look good on me, and Bob let me try all three. If something was out of place (of course the Cummerbund:)), he instantly altered it for my size. Not just that, he had many different color combinations as well for my size. I was so happy to get a rental for my size that I didn’t have to get it tailored.
Bob’s customer obsession was outstanding and the attention and service he provided us was impeccable. If I have to get tux again, I’ll definitely be coming here again.

Found out my tuxedo pants didn’t fit anymore the day of an event. Bob was able to get me squared away with a pair of rental pants immediately. He even hemmed the pants on the spot the ensure a perfect fit. Absolute life saver with impeccable device. Polite, understanding and friendly, despite the urgency of the situation, he was absolutely unflappable. I’m a fan and will be coming here for all my future formal wear needs.

Bob is takes customer service to the next level. Highly recommended.

Alright, the fact that this place doesn’t have 5 stars is baffling to me.
The people saying Bob’s tuxes don’t fit are because they either weren’t honest when they gave their height and weight dishonestly. Bob is the best in the business. This man makes sure that you don’t walk out the door unless you look phenomenal. My fiancé and I are and will continue to use The Tuxedo Club for every event we will do because there is no place with the quality, the fit, the style, or the true customer service. Bob will do anything for a customer! My fiancé is the most handsome man I’ve ever seen in a suit or tux… and it isn’t because he goes to the Men’s Warehouse where you’re getting fake silk, baggy fitting pants and coats, and terrible service. This isn’t bias people, seriously, just take a chance and go look at what he has. You would be beyond surprised at what this man will do for you.
DO NOT LISTEN to the people that keep giving him bad reviews, in fact I dare you to look at the other reviews they’ve left for other business because I’m sure they’re all terrible unless a business gave into there crap.
I know I won’t ever waste my time on a cheap company like Men’s Warehouse or any other tux shop with inexperienced workers. I am taking one piece of stress off me and my fiancé and I will go to The Tuxedo Club where Bob will make sure that my fiancé looks incredible.

I had to rent a tux for a family wedding when I couldn’t fit into my own — Bob told me to come right over, fit me with a great tux, shirt, tie (s) and gear — all in about 30 minutes. Felt great, got loads of compliments, can’t speak highly enough about Bob and his son. Great service, superb experience.

TL: DR: Bad suits for a wedding; Bob asked me to fight outside, then told me I was trespassing and he would call the cops. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!
If zero stars were an option, I would gladly leave ZERO stars. This happened last Summer.
First of all, Bob did just one fitting with everyone, the second fitting was supposed to happen sometime around a week before the wedding, however the suits were not ready. They were delivered the night of the rehearsal dinner, giving us no time to correct any issues.
Bob messed almost everyone’s suits up. My pants were a size 44, I wear a 38. They were about 4 inches too long. My suit jacket was hanging off me, about 4 sizes too big. I couldn’t wear my shoes, as they were both the wrong size and falling apart. The heel was literally separated from the shoe. Luckily I just happened to bring along my own shoes.
When I brought this up upon returning my suit, after numerous threatening phone calls to do so (I believe it was the Wednesday after the wedding), Bob refused to even acknowledge anything being wrong. I had prepaid and wasn’t looking for a refund, but a mere apology.
Instead of an apology, and after a couple minutes of back and forth (rude on his part, profanities etc, as I tried to maintain being pleasant) Bob actually says to me «Do you want to take this outside?» wanting to literally fight. I was shocked! Nobody had ever asked me to «take it outside» before! I thought that only happened in bad movies.
Overall, a horrible experience. ANY shop would have been a better choice, and I think as many people as possible need to hear and share this story.

Needed a tux for husband on the following weekend. Called Bob on Fri and he had us come in at 10:30 Sat between two other appts. Went back at 3:00 and tried on, were able to take home that day even though not using until following weekend. Saved having to come over from Seattle on Thurs before flight out of town. Bob provided friendly, great service and tux was very nice.

First impression: attentive, experienced, and knowledgeable. My husband and I used Tuxedo Club for our Veteran’s Day wedding in 2014 for our groomsmen. Don’t let his chaotic but cute, small shop confuse you. This guy knows exactly what he is doing! He matched exactly what we were looking for and kept it fashionable and modern. Despite some groomsmen being out of state, he did his best to ensure the fit was as close as possible without even a fitting. He also was workable when last-​minute one of our best men couldn’t attend. He did extremely well and the suits were magnificent! Definitely recommend this professional for you attire needs or big day!

Save yourself the angst — this place is in a sorry state and run by guy who has some distorted perceptions of proper customer service.
At your invitation, Bob, I SHALL post about the most abysmal experience I’ve ever had shopping. You made seriously bigoted reference to my daughter’s mixed ethnicity. «You people»? Absolutely STUNNING. Your SNIDE, repeated reference to my daughter’s «LITTLE boyfriend» — Cruel and derogatory. I’m amazed in today’s information rich, non-​discriminatory society, that we witnessed this kind of deplorable treatment. You demonstrated the most unprofessional behavior I’ve witnessed from any business owner in any retail setting. I don’t care if the sales person who treated my daughter and her boyfriend so poorly is YOUR daughter — if anything, YOU should care — as a business owner and take heed that the face of the family business is threatened by your nasty, snooty child. You kicked us out of your shop, for that, I thank you. We came out the better for it. I assure you, Bob, that in our community, your Tux Club is a club the people we know will not be clamoring for membership in. I am saddened there are people who still live and do business within such narrow boundaries. Just makes me feel sorry for you. PS — I’m breaking one of my long time credos to make this post — «If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all» — ahh, yep, you’ve made me cross that line, Bob. Bad, bad, bad experience.

My wedding was in the middle of many high school homecomings last September and Bobs shop was very busy. My brothers and I, being on the smaller side of NFL Linemen, knew we’d have to find a place to rent suits that would fit us properly. After going in to get fitted by Bob himself month’s prior to the wedding, we assumed all was good. When the wedding date neared I came here to Unilocal and was a bit taken back about the negative reviews he had. We decided to go back in a couple weeks before the wedding to get fitted again and make sure everything was on track. Being the groom I stayed on top of Bob to make sure he knew how crucial it was to get us taken care of ahead of time as the wedding was in the San Juan Islands, and we had no extra time to spare if there was a suit that didn’t fit. Upon the final fittings, the fathers, who are normal size guys, had perfect fitting suits and looked amazing. Bob had ordered us brand new suits and had the vests custom tailored. After switching around the pieces of the three suits for the groomsmen, my younger brother was able to walk out of the shop with a suit on time, but my older brother and I did not have suits that fit. My jacket was three inches from being able to button and my vest wasn’t close either. Obviously my belly was the problem but losing that many inches in two days wasn’t an option. We had no choice but to head to the Island and leave it all in Bob’s hands who assured us he would personally deliver them. It was the Friday before the wedding and the night of our rehearsal dinner and beach bonfire. We called Bob several times to find out how things were going and sure enough he had many suits in hand and made the last Ferry out of Anacortes to meet us on the Island. Bob showed up at midnight to my suite in Eastsound on Orcas Island, fitted my older brother and I, and then vanished into the night like Batman. He didn’t interrupt our dinner or bonfire like we asked him not to, and brought us brand new, high quality, great fitting suits. We all looked great and Bob is to thank.
Now if you’re saying to yourself how its possible that I can be happy with this kind of service because it wasn’t right to begin with, customer service wins me over. Driving two hours, plus an hour ferry ride and then sleeping his car in the ferry line on that cold night, Bob’s customer service cannot be questioned. He can only run his small business within the time constraints the warehouses he rents and purchases from allows him. Bob may be a card short of a full deck but he is a good guy and understands how to make things work in the end when it matters.

WOW. If I could give The Tuxedo Club 0 stars I would. This establishment does not even deserve one star. I sure hope BOB reads his Unilocal reviews. I read where one reviewer said that Bob was rude and aggressive. This is exactly how I would describe Bob. I have rented a tux for my son at Tuxedo Club for the last 3 years for homecoming and Bob although slightly in your face has always been nice and the Tuxedo Club has always gotten us our tux on time even 4 days before the event. I have ALWAYS returned the tux on time without issues. This one time when I went to return the tux I was late and this is where it ALL fell apart.
When I walked in I said hello, I am sorry I am late. Bob took the tux and looked it over, everything was fine except the tie was missing — no big deal I think to myself I am sure it’s at home in my son’s room, I will just bring it in later today (my son packed up his tux himself and I didn’t check it)…MY MISTAKE. Bob taking a bunch of notes on the receipts informed me there was a $ 25 late fee and that there is a missing tie. I told BOB that not a problem, I am sure the tie is at home and I didn’t even argue with the late fee. I was late… period and I expected to pay it. I informed Bob I would pay the late fee when I returned with the tie was that OK? He looked at me sideways from top of his glasses and said «how do I know your going to come back?». I responded with «are you serious?» Having been a returning customer, never been late I was shocked. Bob was visibly angry and got aggressive very fast. Pointing out how I thought I was ABOVE the return policy that I was preventing another kid from getting a tux (there are over 1000 tuxs in that shop — the small, unorganized, dirty shop), I said one tux is going to prevent someone from getting a tux? That is when he started quoting and pointing to the return policy and yelling at me that 10 other people were late in returning their tux. How he gave me a great deal on a tux and that him an his daughter gave my son and his friends not only a great deal (I don’t recall ever negotiating a price with BOB, the price was the price) but excellent customer service (well BOB… where is that customer service now?) and I return the favor by being late (really???). Clearly today I took it for everyone who was returning their tux late to BOB. I will NEVER rent another tux from The Tuxedo Club ever again and I hope you don’t either. I will pay twice what I paid before ever stepping foot into Bob’s run down, dirty shop ever again. And it was $ 150 to rent a tux for a night, it’s not like I received the $ 89 Groupon special.

Bob and his crew are amazing! We checked out all of the chain stores but the Tuxedo Club was by far our top choice.
Affordable prices, high quality clothing and accessories and Bob is so accommodating.
All of our groomsmen were from out of town and Bob was able to use their measurements and his knowledge to come up with perfect fits, everyone was impressed with the quality, definitely not the cheap rental tux look.
Bob let us pick up the tuxes early that week and even offered to take a ferry to Bainbridge if any of the fits were off.
Highly recommend! Don’t waste your time going to the other places, you won’t be disappointed.

I had to get a same-​day tux rental. I called and drove around a few places on the eastside, but none of them had much stock on hand. These guys did.
I was able to walk in, get fitted, get the suit tailored, and walk out in about 45 minutes.
I was treated courteously, and wasn’t given any grief for basically walking in off the street and asking for a tux for that night.
The shoes had a little minor scuffing, but I attribute that to the fact that they didn’t have time to do anything beyond throw them on my feet. Beyond that, everything was clean, well fitting, and finished well.
They weren’t busy when I was there, I’m sure that helped expedite things, but overall a really solid, friendly experience.

What a disappointment! My husband and son went for a suit fitting and the whole experience was unprofessional. The owner and his daughter were rude and made the bride to be feel she didn’t know what she was talking about. We picked up the suits the day before the wedding. The suits were wrinkled and dirty. My girlfriend had to press and spot clean them! The shop is very disorganized!

This place completely exceeded all of my expectations. Top notch service. Good people. Nice suits. I brought my elderly father who has dementia here to rent a classic gray suit for my wedding — it’s hard to find a place in the Seattle-​area that rents suits and not just tuxedos!
This could have been a really stressful experience (my dad loves to tell stories, but he also repeats himself & can become frustrated easily), but the owner and the young woman helping us were absolutely wonderful. We didn’t have to wait long to be helped. They were friendly, extremely helpful, patient, and kind. After listening to my father tell boxing stories from back in the day, the owner even gave us a discount. It wasn’t gimmicky — he didn’t even mention it — but we noticed! We walked out of the shop very satisfied with the whole process and my dad commented about how much he liked the staff.
My dad looked and felt great on the day of the wedding thanks in large part to the Tuxedo Club’s service. I would give them a sixth star, if I could, for also being completely understanding when we returned my dad’s suit late.

I would highly recommend using the Tuxedo Club and Bob for your wedding!!! We had an out of state wedding and he was more than happy to accommodate us throughout all of our planning. He is customer focused and a pleasure to work with at all times.
The suits also fit much better than any wedding I have been in with suits from a chain. Also, anyone that he measured fit very well when we picked up the suits.

My husband really wanted to like this place. When he got fitted, he was impressed with the owner. When he went to pick up the suit; different story. The hemming looked like a child did it, one of the belt loops on the pants had been ripped in half and hastily stitched back together, the shoes were FILTHY and had a horrible patch job on the uppers. Gross. My husband described the whole ensemble as «costume quality» at best. Definitely not want you want for a semi-​formal event. I will be posting pictures so you can see for yourself. Seems like this business is really going downhill, as all of the reviews most recently are awful.

My husband and I have nothing positive to say about our encounter with this business and the «owner» Bob. How he stays in business is beyond us.

I have nothing but great things to say about Bob and The Tuxedo Club.
Learned last minute I needed a tux for a black tie charity auction — not just any tux — a big and tall size, center vent notched lapel No Italian «high fashion» look for me — just a solid, classic look. You’d be surprised how challenging this has become.
I needed to be fitted and altered in 3 days. Not a surprise but I got no satisfaction trying to work through the big chain stores that do tux rentals.
Oh, did I mention that I learned I was trying to do this apparently right in the middle of prom season!
Bob was simply fantastic! He was so friendly, enthusiastic and totally customer focused. Lots of try ons until we found the right ensemble.
Everything was ready for pickup on time, reasonably priced (in relation to what quality tux rentals run in today’s market) and fit perfectly — and that’s saying something given my «non-​ballerina size» is not really off the rack.
I HIGHLY recommend The Tuxedo Club over ANY of the chains. When I can I will always try and patronize an independent business that delivers incredible quality service.

Junk. High cost and slow service

As one of the rare non-​chain tux rental places in the seattle area, Bob (the owner) runs a very friendly and affordable shop. Main positives:
1. Bob’s shop lets you try on and see how you will look, with all the vests, ties, cufflinks, shoes provided; the chain stores don’t let you even touch them. This was a main deciding factor for my very anal tailoring eye.
2. Measurements here are taken and you can also see how it fits you in addition to how it looks, not like the chain stores. If sleeves are just slightly too long, Bob can do same day on-​site tailoring (more on this later); the chains cannot.
3. The prices are comparable, although just slightly more at Bob’s (~$ 120 at the big stores vs ~$ 120 and up depending on quality desired at Tux Club).
4. You can pick up your rental about a week prior to your event, making it vastly easier on your schedule; the chains here like Men’s Wearhouse or Tux Shop give you 2 days prior pickup.
5. Bob addresses everyone very politely, as «sirs» and «ma’ams.»
Main negatives:
1. I came in with my brother for his suit, and it looked fantastic, except that the sleeves ran too long (past the first joint on his thumb, about 0.5″ above the indent between his thumb/​forefinger. Bob was able to fold back ~0.5″ of fabric and sewed it inside the sleeve, however I didn’t check that he did not press it and didn’t sew enough stitches, resulting in a very bulbous sleeve end which looked a bit awkward; no shortcuts next time Bob!
2. Bob hires some high school kids for the shop. I was told that the above sleeve alteration could not be done due to the faux buttons being «in the way.» I’ve had work experience in the textile industry as well as suit tailoring, and knew that the kid didn’t know what he was talking about (faux button can be moved, fake buttonhole stitching would look awkward at the sleeve end but not very visible). Talked to Bob instead and straightened that out.
3. For some of the good quality stuff at Bob’s shop it can run $ 150-​$ 200 (100% wool, lower end RL lines) which is a lot considering the price of a cheap tux at a slightly lower quality can be had for about double that amount.
4. The shoe selection is not classy. Bicycle and square toed shoes are fashion trend items and belong at night clubs. The only semi-​classic was a patent leather round toe American styled short toe (looked like an Alden last), I would have loved some classier AE PA styled or an elongated Italian styled toe.
5. Bob can be slow replying to emails in the busy season.
Overall my experience with Bob was great, and I realize I have just as many negatives as positives in this review but the negs are trivial compared to the positives I listed, and relative to the other chain stores Bob definitely has a leg up. Would definitely recommend the Tux Club.

Bob, the owner of the shop is very plesant to work with.
He responded to my emails promptly and by the time we had the 1^st appointment with him, he already had the jacket with correct size for my hubby to try on. No deposit required for the entire process unlike other big stores.
Bob is very knowledageable about formal men’s wear, which is a life saver as i wanted to deal with someone who can offer me opinions regarding a morning suit, which is less common for weddings. Other shops either don’t know about the suit or can’t do anything unless we put down deposits.
The processing of renting and returning the suit to Bob is so easy and stress-​free. The pricing structure is extremely simple and all inclusive. One price covers everything except undergarment. The rental price is the BEST in town and we can even get mother of pearl cufflinks, which added a very nice touch to the suit. We did lost the handkerchief when we returned. However, we were only chagred $ 7 for this.
We were very happy with Bob’s service and the suit quality. Highly recommended.
