The Bicycle Repair Shop

This shop is great. I mostly do my own repairs but there are some things that are outside my wheel house like building wheels and draining disc brakes. This is my go to for that stuff. They do an amazing job.
I got a pair of hand built wheels from an online retailer. They went out of true over and over when I first got them. Brought them to the shop, there was a problem and they needed to be rebuilt. They rebuilt them and they are now bullet proof. Lots of dirt road riding (road wheels), big miles. Still perfectly true. Plus, every time I bring it in they tighten up the brakes and make little adjustments without being asked or charging.
I could give more examples but the bottom line is you would be well served to get your bike fixed here.

I stopped by yesterday to ask about a missing screw from my front disk brakes. After taking apart the breaks I realized they were rubbing because i was missing a breakpad spring. After talking with the mechanic he let me know which screw I needed and simply gave me one off of an old break system that they were no longer using. It fit perfectly and my breaks are back to normal. I will 100% come back here when I need to work on my bike or get some equipment. Great people, nice and friendly!

Just had an absolutely wonderful experience renting bikes from here! My girlfriend and I were visiting from LA and wanted to rent some bikes for the day. We came into the store and dealt with Brad who was extremely helpful in showing us places to see along the bike route from downtown along the water to discover park and through Ballard. The bikes themselves were great quality as well, which helped a lot because the hills were a bit stealer than we expected. We were having such a great time we missed the 6pm cutoff to return the bikes and when we called to let them know, they even offered to pick up the bikes from our hotel at no extra charge. That’s what I call excellent service!

I took my bike here to get repaired and had a 5 star experience. Initially I took the bike (ugly, 1989 Schwinn) to a shop near my office, but they were kind of stiff and quoted me 6 days for a repair that takes an hour or two, at most. Not gonna work for a busy commuter.
These guys were really nice and had the repair done same day for less than I expected (under $ 50). I was impressed and ended up spending another $ 50 on new parts. Best part is that the old lever shifters work perfectly and the brakes are like-​new. Will definitely be taking my mountain bike here in the future. No pressure, no judgement, just good service + prices. Also, the dog is super cute.

Riding a tandem bike was on our bucket list, and Michael was the best person to make it happen! We had the best experience, and completed the 13 mile loop around Seattle –when we came back, Michael was nice enough to walk us over to the gum wall and Pike Place. So basically, we got a bike and a tour guide! Everyone go rent a bike from this shop, end of story!

Needed a good road bike for 4 days whilst in Seattle to keep up the training. These guys were great! Easy to book, no problems picking up, great bike — Fuji Gran Fondo Classico 1.1. to which they added a support for my Garmin Edge 520 plus helpful advice on some awesome bike routes — Mercer Island loop: Burke-​Gilman, Sammamish and I-​90 trail. 104 miles of fun in some beautiful Seattle weather. Took my bike in for a seasonal tune up.
Great customer service and the services were great. My bike runs great and I was amazed at how cheap the bill was. Super honest. Super good.

Where to begin?!
Long story made somewhat short. I bookmarked this place because I saw their dog Kaya and was sold. Lol. But they had 5 stars too so that helped.
Amazing people. Very down-​to-​earth.
Took the bikes down the path to Discovery Park. If you’re in-​shape and do mild cardio, then it should be an ok ride. I don’t do cardio and I found myself trying to sell my soul like 15 times just to get to the top of some hills. Lol.
Made it to the Ballard locks and actually got to see a boat pass through! This is the off-​season so not much boat traffic. Steve, an engineer we met there, said peak time will start in May.
Ate lunch at Ann’s in Ballard. Delish shrimp sate!
I busted my tire in a pothole and had to make a trip to REI. Which wasn’t awful because we wanted to go there anyway.
The city was tough to ride in at 5:00pm and we rode the sidewalk most of the way back due to the congestion. Some pedestrians are obvious to you and I almost ran over a few people. By choice. Lol.
Made it back right before they closed at 6:00pm. Easy peasy!
Notes: Take some water. Take some pictures. The ride is beautiful so don’t rush through. Get there before noon to give yourself some time to cruise.

This place is great. Bike shops are so often intimidating places where I feel like I’m being upsold on fancier gear than I need or getting services I don’t understand. These folks are totally responsive to cost-​conscious riders. They do high quality work in a timely manner and for a good price. If you’re a downtown bike commuter, this is the perfect option.

These guys are awesome. Drop off your bike in the morning and they’ll generally have it fixed and ready by end of the day. I stopped by this morning with a troublesome brake, and they adjusted it in a few minutes for free, with a friendly chat at the same time. I’ve never had a bad experience there.

Awesome bike shop. I ride into downtown daily, and these guys have saved my hide many times! They’re knowledgable, crazy friendly, quick, and supremely fair. Andy always has a smile and a kind word when I’m standing there with my broken ride waiting for them to open at 8:00. They do what they say they’ll do for what they say it’ll cost. I’ve been to at least a dozen different bike shops around Seattle for various things, and these guys are as good as it gets. If you’re downtown and need a fix, go here.

My bike got a flat on my way to work and the folks at The Bicycle Repair shop were super nice, super knowledgeable, and the fix was only $ 15! I would definitely take my bike here again and told my partner to get his creaky bike here for a tune up.

courteous, quick, and came in under cost, which is always nice! they were able to tune up my bike as well as few other adjustments that needed to be made in a day. and thank you for being downtown, catering to the commuting crowd. you are much needed in that area!
and then a few weeks later, they were kind enough to stay open for just a few extra minutes so that my coworker and I could borrow some cutters to steal some bikes. just kidding. totally just kidding. the key broke off inside the bike lock by harbor steps and had to cut the lock to retrieve the bike. and to alleviate your potential cynicism, we did get stopped by one über driver (maybe?) who asked us what we were doing. his ride was some woman who voiced the opinion that she should stand in solidarity with us ladies, even if it looked like we were thieving in broad daylight.

My husband has his bicycle serviced here regularly. I have shopped here for gifts for him and have had great customer service in the past. However, my recent visit was less than stellar. I had taken my husband’s bike in for a repair while he was out of town. Although they were quick to complete the work, what ticked me was when I picked up the bike, I was left to struggle getting the bike out of the shop on my own. It’s not easy dealing with holding a door open and trying to wheel a bike out by yourself. Thank goodness I was walking the bike home, as opposed to trying to wrangle it up on a car rack by myself. I am sure I would have gotten no help, if that had been the case. My husband’s Cannondale Street is a very heavy bike for me to handle to begin with. What happened to holding the front door for your customers when they are dealing with wheeling out a bike? Customer service fail!

This shop is the epitome of what an LBS should be. I went by yesterday when I was on a ride as I was having a problem with shifting. I dropped in and asked of the mechanic could take a look at the indexing. He promptly put the bike up on the stand, ran it through some index adjustments identified a mid cable tensioner on the frame that was lose and making the rear dérailleur misbehave, adjusted it an I was good to go. The mechanic would not accept any money, just noted that my continued business was what was important and he was happy to be of service. The rest of my Sunday bike ride was fantastic !

By far my favorite bike shop in Seattle. Friendly, knowledgeable, not salesy, and will often make minor repairs/​tweaks on my commuter bike at no cost. This shop feels like a favorite barber or car mechanic — people can trust with an important piece of your life. 100x more value than buying parts off the internet.

What a great shop! I’m from San Diego in Seattle for the Seafair Triathlon. I brought my bike to Seattle in a hard case box but things do happen in transit. I called ahead the day before to see if they could do a rush tune (wheels, derailers, etc.)
When I got there I was greeted by staff that had sincere smiles in their faces.
I was at the store at 10:15 and out at 10:45! Of course while I waited I shopped around and walked out after spending $ 175 for a $ 15 tune. I can’t ever seem to walk out of a bike shop under $ 100. :-)
But the tune and products were a great value. The bike tech even reviewed my purchases with me, set the combo on the new lock for me (so if my bike gets stollen while I’m here I will know who took it), and gave me some good instructions on the CO2 inflation kit (I’ve never used one before).
I highly recommend this place!
