Specialties
The Bar Method™ is a one-hour total body workout comprised of muscle strengthening and stretching techniques partially performed at the ballet bar, strategically choreographed and executed to music. The system is designed to create a uniquely lean, firm, sculpted body by combining the muscle-shaping principles of isometrics, the body-elongating practice of ballet dance conditioning, the science of physical therapy, and the intense pace of interval training.
History
Established in 2011.
The Bar Method Seattle opened in 2011 in the fashionable Seattle neighborhood of South Lake Union. Bev & Luke Currier and Maika Manring moved to Washington from the San Francisco Bay Area expressly to bring their love of Bar Method to their home state, opening the sister location in Redmond in 2009.
The modern, chic yet warm space boasts gorgeous views of the Space Needle from the studio, which bustles between 6am and 8pm. Hardworking professionals, dedicated moms, and ambitious students rely on The Bar Method for their daily endorphin fix. The Seattle teaching staff undergoes an intense six-month training process before getting certified to lead their first class.
Bev and Maika have almost 20 years combined of Bar Method experience. You will find them teaching classes throughout the week alongside the other Seattle instructors. Together, they always provide expert, personalized care and the attention of a one-on-one training session in this empowering group exercise experience.
