History
Established in 2003.
Sync Fitness was born after owner Sara Dean left a career working with children in a psychiatric hospital. With a background in psychology and a personal passion for fitness, Sara went back to school to become a personal trainer in 2001. Upon completion of her degree in personal training and certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (the gold standard of the fitness industry), Sara got Sync Fitness up and running. Since 2003 Sara has used exercise to help people find a place of improved health, better body image and a more positive mental space.
Meet the Business Owner
Sara D.
Business Owner
Sara has a BA from Gonzaga University in Sociology and Psychology. She has an AA from Lake Washington Technical College in Personal Training. During her 7 year career at a psychiatric hospital, Sara found exercise to be her greatest outlet amidst chaos and stress. This lead to dozens of endurance events: half marathons, a full marathon and triathlons (where she placed in the top female finishers a few times). As Sara grew to see herself as an athlete for the first time in her life, she found a new self image that established her as a grounded, empowered woman ready to help others take on physical feats. Becoming a personal trainer seemed to be the perfect fit. Years later it has proven to be an amazing ride.
When Sara is not training her clients or herself, she can be found spending time with her husband and son, reading a good memoir, watching bad reality TV and sipping red wine.
