Colin is awesome!
It’s tough to find a good hair dresser, and even harder to find one that knows how to apply a chemical relaxer correctly. Colin knew exactly what he was doing, and did a great job.
The only cons would be that the salon is tucked away in downtown Seattle so traffic and parking can be a tough; and the prices are a bit high. Otherwise It’s a cute and clean salon with friendly knowledgeable staff.

Stacy is a wonderful stylist and fine company to boot.

I’ve been seeing Sabrina at Sublime for about 2 years now. I’m disappointed that I even have such a review to give. I originally went because of all of the great reviews and I was looking for someone new who knew how to do curly hair and was reasonably priced. There are still lots of great reviews here that should be taken into consideration, this is just one person’s experience. If there was a 2 ½, I’d probably give that. I saw the same ladies for 10 years before they got too expensive, so I had a definite idea of what I wanted, but it just seems like we have not been able to get on the same page with my cut. I have to go back to have her fix one thing or another more often than not. And I never have that «just out of the salon» look and feeling I used to get, that is part of the thrill of getting your hair done. Sabrina’s philosophy is that the curls should be disturbed as little as possible. But that doesn’t work for styling my hair. My curls need more definition and attention. Usually when I leave the salon, I’m thinking, «well, I’ll have to wait until I get home and style it myself to see if it’s what I wanted.» Not the feeling you want to have when you are leaving the salon. She also uses a balliage (sp?) technique for color. I have no particular complaints about this other than I prefer the drama you get with chunkier highlights that foils can provide and Sabrina won’t use foils. Again, I think Sabrina is probably a great stylist for many people, but after 2 years of trying to get it right, it’s time for me to move on.

I have curly hair so usually it’s hard for me to find a person able to handle it. Yet Sublime Salon went above and beyond my expectations. I’d say that if you have curly hair — just go there. The staff there knows how to wash, cut, blow dry your hair and moreover what advice to give you on how to handle your new haircut yourself.
I’d give the salon 5 stars if it wasn’t for the scheduling the appointment. Spending several years in Silicon Valley I’m used to contacting people over the e-​mail. But that is not the easy way in this case. Every e-​mail I had to write twice, because there was no reaction to my first e-​mails. So as it takes several iterations of e-​mail replies to agree on the date-​time with the slowness of the person writing to me the whole process took 2 days (and we’re talking about the speed of modern technology!).

Every stylist has their own biz and each buys their own products
Most of them use very cheap products; Curtis uses Wella mousse and a drug store level heat protector
Had Curtis blow dry my hair and he generally admitted that he wouldn’t be able to do as good of a job as I did myself because it was too much work. He proceeded to rough dry my hair to completely dry before trying to dry my dry hair with a round brush to give it body which failed, of course
I asked for bouncy round brush dried hair and my hair has NEVER been so flat

I love Curtis. My hair loves Curtis. Only he has touched my hair for the last twenty years and I followed him to Sublime. He is the color king. I no longer color my hair but he keeps my hair healthy. He is an expert at relaxers perms and other special treatments. I get compliments on my hair all the time and he gives great cuts.

I got a consultation with Colin and he really helped me a lot in realizing what was wrong with my hair! He was super patient and suggested what kinds of treatments I could get. He also prescribed some products I could use and explained why. I would definitely go see him again!

My stylist Collin recently moved to this salon from another in downtown. He is the best stylist I’ve ever had and I’m following him to his new location. I highly recommend Collin. Cuts, colors, waxing… he can do it all and is great!

Just visited my very favorite hair stylist… and well one of my all-​time favorite people — Collin — the other day after he moved to Sublime Salon and as always — I loved it! Love the new place, love the friendly ambience, and LOVE walking out feeling fresh and gorgeous. As always — thanks Collin for helping me feel like my best self AND look like I just stepped off a movie set. A glamorous one of course ;-)

Collin is the best there is at what he does, and what he does is style hair like boss. I always feel like a brand new person after I visit him. I’ve been having him cut my hair for over a year and I absolutely love him. He is superbly talented and really has become a great friend along the way! Love you, Collin! You are my fav!

Go see Colin, he is amazing! I have been seeing him to do my hair now for over 3 years and I love it. He does a great job that looks great and lasts a long time. He knows especially how to make blonde hair look amazing. He really listens to you about the look you are going for.
Also, he is very fair about his prices, and really cares about his clients. I have recommend him to a lot of friends, who all love him.
Also, he is great for updos for special events. I always feel so great after leaving Colin.
I love it, and plan to keep going back!

Emily is awesome! She is so talented and really listens to what you want. She has the type of skills that can only come with experience. She is also such an awesome person — a joy to spend a couple of hours in a chair with! Go to Sublime and book Emily!

I am an easy customer as far as hair goes– I understand that it will grow back and a bad cut is only temporary, so I have no problem trying out someone new. I went with Sabrina, and I am so glad I did. She cut it exactly as I had pictured it, and I am still obsessing over it months later! I will definitely be going back to her :)

I love this little salon and especially Sabrina. I always feel welcome — I am offered water or coffee when I get there and I am never kept waiting.
Sabrina is as good as it gets. I get my hair styled, colored and also do highlights. She always gets it done exactly as I like it and her suggestions are spot on. She is also very friendly and makes the experience enjoyable.
It is totally worth the price and I am definitely committed. Would recommend her to anyone!

I should have went with « Unilocal instinct». When I called into see if there were any same day appointments and the gentleman over the phone said YES! Vanessa.. .. I even did my research and saw the in-​depth review that was left for her, however at times I understand some people just have a bad day whether the client or the stylist. So I went ahead and took the appointment.
The salon was very well kept and personable! Greeted right away and asked if I would like water or tea. I was then sat into Vanessa’s chair after changing. I explained what I wanted and then she took me over to be shampoo’d.
DUN DUN DUNNNNNN.. .. I do not have curly hair, I do not have thick hair, and overall my hair is semi-​healthy. However, she kept pulling at it like there were a million knots?! I have never had that happen while getting my hair washed. Next she took me back to her chair, again pulling a comb through my hair and attempting to get through the knots once more?
The haircut was ok. I asked PLEASE no more than an inch, without asking she took off three (Enough for people back in my office to ask why I cut it short) I completely understand if it was recommended due to split ends, however she not once asked. So I categorized her under the rookie stylist and decided to just deal with it.
To top it off she continuously burned my scalp with the hair dryer…
So, conclusion. This is karma for cheating on my usual stylist.
P. S. Remember when I said I categorized her as a rookie stylist… Negative– She is one of the more experienced ones that cost a whopping 65 $ for a haircut.

Sabrina is my favorite stylist EVER. I have long curly hair and while it’s not difficult to cut, I am particular. I chose Sabrina based on Unilocal reviews, but I did something that another reviewer suggested: I called the salon to schedule my first appointment and asked who they’d recommend for curly hair. Without hesitation, they said Sabrina. I was prepared to let her do whatever she liked with my hair, including something radically different… but what she did was just give me a beautiful cut with great shaping and left the length long. That was four months ago, and the haircut she gave me has grown out beautifully. She TRULY understands curly hair. She gave me some great advice about styling and she did something that no one in the history of me having hair has ever done… after the cut, she took me back to the shampoo bowl and re-​wet my hair before styling it. This is absolutely necessary to achieve spiral curls without frizz. I have asked many stylists to re-​wet my hair before applying product, and I’ve never gotten more than a spray-​bottle spritz before (which is a recipe for frizz.) She has a wonderful calm demeanor and I felt comfortable with her right away.
I get anxious thinking about ever having to find another stylist. I don’t want anybody but her.

I just went to Sublime for my first time based on the great Unilocal reviews for the salon and for Sabrina as a stylist. She did an awesome job on my hair, and I am looking forward to getting it colored by her in the future. I liked the vibe in the salon, its location is easy to get to and I lucked out with parking right in front of the shop.

If you want color, make an appointment with Sabrina!
She was a delight. I had to do an evening appointment, and I was the last one there, I suspect she stayed late to accomodate me. She was friendly, intuitive, understood my specific hair and lifestyle (low maintinence… I rarely even blow dry my super straight hair) and did an AMAZING color job.
I don’t remember what the word was, (starts with a B) but she does highlights by hand. NO FOILS!!! It takes longer, but the results are so beautiful and natural. It is totally worth it.
Pricey!!! But honestly, worth it. It’s been months and I still don’t even need a touch up!!!

I’ve never believed in monogamy when it comes to stylists.
My hair is thick, course, and wavy hair. It is reddish-​toned, mouse-​brown/​greying. I want it to look naturally blonde, but without the weird green you get when a colorist uses too much ash). I want a cut that lets me flat-​iron OR wear curly, and it needs to be corporate-​appropiate with a potential for modified funkitude.
These are unreasonable demands. NO ONE can meet every item on the list at the same time. My strategy has been: pick good colorists and hope for a decent cut.
But then something happened. I made an appointment at a random salon that was on some Allure list of Places To Go for A Haircut, and my assigned stylist was Sabrina.
When it’s right, you know it. I followed her from the random salon to Sublime. I kept coming back, and after six months (an unprecedented record), I realized that Sabrina had the Rosetta Stone, and every one of my insane hair demands had been met.
Sabrina is a gifted and intuitive colorist, and she gives great cut. She listens. It’s been more than three years, and I have no regrets.
Call Sublime. Ask for Sabrina. Leave happy. Prepare for a committed relationship.

I have to add to the Shain support. I followed him to Sublime from Lucky 7 and plan my haircuts around when I’ll be in town from NYC (that’s right, over two years after moving from Seattle, he is still my main stylist).
I’ve had good cuts elsewhere, but the thing that sets Shain’s apart is that I am able to make my hair look good on my own even a month after the cut. The less effort I have to put into my ‘do in the morning, the better and Shain makes it happen! Plus he is great to chat with if you’re in the mood for talking :)
The salon itself is clean, modern, and airy. I can’t recommend Shain highly enough!
