My hair color came out beautiful but the experience was spoiled by Linda’s rude attitude. I spent over 5hrs at your salon and I find that shockingly unprofessional. My hair does not take that much time.
It is not my fault that it takes Linda 6hrs to do my hair that is skill lacking on her part. Also surprisingly, I’m a paying customer so I expect to not be treated like an annoyance.
Extremely disappointed with lack of professionalism exhibited by Linda. Emmet has done a fantastic job with this salon and is one of the best stylist. This is a difficult review to submit.

Hair extensions should cost $ 75 an hour to install and should take about 2 hours. Plus the cost of hair. I had a consultation with Lenny and I was asked to pay $ 450 for an instillation price plus $ 350 for the hair. This place tried to charge me more than double what I’ve been paying my entire life in Southern California before I moved here. Please research your prices before you let them rip you off!

My hair is green now with a bad haircut on top of that. The only thing done right was colouring my grey.
The stylists say that they are knowledgeable about 4A, 4B, and 4C but she was not used to dealing with my type of natural hair. She tried to use a brush on my dry hair and another stylist didn’t even have a wide toothed comb at her station. She did not apply adequate moisturizers to my hair afterwards either.
This salon is still in the dark ages and promotes relaxing and other chemical straighteners.
There are black women out there who love their natural hair and don’t want people throwing lye on their heads.
I paid $ 323 total and haven’t heard back from the owner/​manager yet.

I just got a haircut here yesterday. I booked the appointment an hour before, and they were able to squeeze me in. I’d been growing out my long curly hair since before my wedding last year, but the split ends had gotten bad enough that I decided it was time to lose a bunch of length. My stylist Linda was a complete pro from start to finish. She gave me a perfect «LOB» (long bob) and my curls sit perfectly with the mid-​length style she created. She was quick but thorough, and the Moroccan Oil products she used on my hair transformed my frizzy little rat’s nest into smooth bouncy locks.

I tried to give this salon a second try but I will never come back. I made an appointment online to get a haircut and made sure to include in the «note section» my, 3c kinky curly, curl type (which they should be aware of, since the curl type scale is posted on their website).
The hairstylist that did my hair didn’t even know how to do my hair (which she should have seen the hair type in the note I left), she was adding products for straight/​mildly curly hair that didn’t detangle my hair (it seemed like it was making my hair even more tangled), awhile she was combing it wrong with a thin tooth comb (which is the worst comb to use for thick curly hair).
The whole process took her almost 2 – 3 hours and all I got was a wash, deep condition and a cut. I could tell she seemed fed up with my hair and I felt so bad that when she was done, I tipped her.
For all of nothing, I was charged $ 90 and gave a tip because I felt bad… But then I thought about it, why am I feeling bad about bad service? If they are the stylist, they chose this career knowing they should know how to do hair and especially all types (especially when you work at a salon known for doing all types of curly hair).
I will never come back. And even though this happened the beginning of December, I knew I needed to write this review to warn others of my crummy experience with Vasuda. Buyer beware.

Celeste is not only a talented hairstylist, but she is truly a master at her skill and very professional.
After dealing with my hair falling out, going thin, and curls losing their life, I decided it was time to chop off most of my hair. For someone who has had long hair all of her life, it was a big step for me. To ensure it was done properly, I looked all over for someone who specialized in hair care and cutting for curls and then I found Vasuda Salon and Celeste. I definitely made the right choice and I’m so happy I found them!
Celeste gave me a different experience than what I am used to at a salon. She was very gentle, talked me through every step, and explained thoroughly what she was doing and why. She was very informative and I felt more educated on my hair after everything was done.
Everyone close to me begged me not to cut my hair and said I didn’t have the face shape for short hair. Those same people saw me after Celeste cut my hair and are completely in love and say my hair looks the best they’ve ever seen it. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it and for once, I truly do feel like my hair looks great. It’s so healthy now and the style she cut it in is very manageable, whether I keep it down and put it up.
If you have curls and are in need of a cut, I encourage you to trust Celeste and make your way to Vasuda Salon.

If I lived in Seattle I would be here EVERY WEEK! It’s got a great vibe with a mixture of different people, both clientele and staff so it feels very diverse which I really enjoyed. Alex was my stylist and he was GREAT!!! He was really patient with my indecision and gave LIFE to my hair once more, I can’t remember it looking this good all year! He really works with you and takes the time to find out what you want. Did I mention the head massage when he washes your hair??? Yo I almost fell asleep! The pricing is also really great, enough for it to feel like a treat without breaking your pocket!
Anytime I am back in Seattle I will definitely be popping into this salon and asking Alex to give life to these curls!!! Love love love love this salon!

I was looking to embrace my natural wavy, curly hair (3a/​3b/​3c.) I called, received my appointment in no time with Celeste. OMG, I’m so happy I was blessed to sit in her chair. When I walked in, I was greeted by two friendly young ladies who took my coat and asked me what choice of tea I wanted. (Great start, I might add.). I was greeted by Celeste who right away I could tell was warm, friendly and professional. We discussed my hair goal and expectations. I showed her a couple of pictures and she was very honest and open with what I was working with vs the picture.
Next, she told me what she would do to my hair (used clarifying shampoo, moisturing shampoo, deep condish, etc.) I certainly thought this was very thoughtful, as I can’t remember ever getting a breakdown on the details of my hair itinary, so far so good.
She diffused and gave me a Deva cut. Celeste is trained in Deva cutting and even though I read this on her bio, I was still really skeptical. She did an excellent job and I thought, FINALLY I got my Deva cut. For any natural that lives here in Seattle should know, we don’t have too many stylists who really are interested or has the knowledge on how to deal with natural hair.
She co-​washed me after diffusing and gave me a brain organism with her massaging skills and honey… my head was in heaven. She diffused it again and styled it.
A couple things I really liked & appreciated was she gave me a huge mirror to see the back of my head, she told me to feel it, shake my head/​hair and broke down the products that would work for me and what she actually used.
After running my hands through my hair, it felt great and knew Celeste had made a new client.
I recommend her 100%. She is friendly, professional, highly skilled, and focused (she paid attention to me and made sure I was comfortable. Luv that.)
In closing, she’s the best and I will definitely be back! Also, the salon gives FREE trims about four weeks after your appointment.
Just so you know, this is a real review. I had no Groupon nor did I know any of the stylist personally before. I paid under $ 60 and it was well worth it for the ambiance, style and cut (and its in Belltown, with housing going up, we know this was a deal of a steal!) I had been there once before and had the pleasure of sitting in Emmitt’s chair, who did a fabu job too! I really like this salon and I have already recommended this place to a couple of my buds.

Livia disappointed with customer service, cut and color. Profile sounded good but my results were pretty awful. After seeing the same stylist at Vasuda for 5 years I was pretty bummed with the end result. Stained forehead for days and a mediocre cut.

I started going here off a friends recommendation. Went with a level 2 stylist for a few visits, and have now had to go back to my previous hair dresser who is further away after extreme breakage. I will say maybe my friend is having a better experience because she doesn’t have a relaxer.
My L2 stylist tried selling me a keratin treatment to get on top of my relaxer for a whole additional service fee to get the best results a couple of times this would have been over $ 200.00. I do believe that if your getting a relaxer anywhere, they should be including what will keep your hair the healthiest without needing to sell you another treatment to get the results you should already be getting. Despite this hangup, I returned for a conditioning treatment a few weeks later, and was disappointed that I was just left sitting with conditioner in my hair in front of the sink. I’m used to deep conditioners where the conditioner itself is a scalp stimulator, or where your hair is wrapped or your’re set under the hair dryer for maximum results. Looked good styles wise, but felt awful to the touch. Bone dry.
I can admit I do see people coming and going with great styles and healthy hair when I am here, so this whole thing was disappointing. Maybe re-​think getting a relaxer here unless you can afford an L3 stylist.

Yesterday I visited Vasuda Salon in Belltown for the first time. Linda Irving did her thing on my hair and it is truly the best haircut I’ve had in about 5 years! As soon as I walked out the door of the salon, complete strangers started complimenting my hair and I received compliments the remainder of the day.
I really appreciated how Linda took time to consult with me about the type of services I needed versus what I wanted and also like that her recommendations were clear. Many stylists forget to consult with clients before beginning service — especially with new clients. She cut my hair exactly the way that I asked her to.
I will be back and look forward to many more fabulous hair styles!

Although I have straight hair, it’s very finicky and I struggle to find a stylist that knows how to deal with it. I have been unsatisfied with my past few haircuts so I decided to make a change. On a whim I made a last minute appointment at Vasuda.
Upon arriving, I was offered water and then Emily greeted me and walked me back to her chair. She asked what I wanted and I honestly wasn’t quite sure. She knew exactly the right questions to ask to make sure that I got what I wanted and I ended up getting what is probably the best haircut I’ve ever had.
Additionally, most stylists are so set on getting rid of dead ends that they chop off so much of my hair. I love my length and she didn’t get chop-​happy. She found a solution so I could keep most of my length and have healthy hair at the same time.
Finally, she told me what products she was using and what she would recommend that I use but she did not force them upon me.
Go to Vasuda, you will not be disappointed.

This is about an experience several months ago but it pissed me the fuck off because 1) I was charged more for an «experienced» stylist and 2) it was for an important event that I ended up unhappily going to.
I went in for a simple hair straightening. i have a lot of hair, but it was pre-​treated and combed. The girl who worked on me was in a rush because it was her birthday. Which is fine– she was ecstatic, and jumpy and already dressed to go– I tipped her heavy for her night out.
When I left though, my hair was literally still an afro. Wasted $$. I should have asked for someone else as there were several African-​American women mingling around who, in addition to being less rushed, might have had overall more knowledge on kinky hair.

You have Bi-​racial textured hair? You need to visit a Vasuda salon. Brook is my go to stylist and I am confident that any stylist you can get an apt with here will not only guide you to the best service but also educate you about taking care of your hair. Vasuda and good hair salon are by far leagues above the rest when it comes to taking your beautiful hair to the next level! LOVE THEM!

As a transplant, it’s been hard to find a good hairdresser here. I have a regular stylist that I was getting my pixie cut by, and I love her, but I recently decided I wanted to do the big chop and go natural. My regular stylist is out of town, but I really wanted to get it done ASAP, so started searching Unilocal and came across Vasuda. I saw that they had a lot of great reviews and decided to give them a try.
They did not disappoint.
Parking: There’s plenty of street parking around the salon. My appointment was in the middle of the day and I was able to find a spot right away. I don’t live downtown so I’m not sure if that’s normal, but just be prepared to pay for street parking.
Salon: Very clean and nice atmosphere. I was offered a beverage, which is always a nice touch to any service. The receptionists were incredibly nice and friendly.
Stylist: Linda did an amazing job on my hair. She listened to what I wanted, made suggestions, actually got her hands in my hair to feel the texture, and she gave me feedback on what she saw happening with my hair. After explaining how my cut is likely to come out, she double checked with me that I would still be okay with that before cutting away. One thing I always appreciate about a stylist is one who is friendly and makes pleasant conversation, but doesn’t feel the need to fill the silence with small talk. Linda gets it :) We had pleasant conversation but she didn’t talk just to talk. As I mentioned earlier, I usually have a pixie so it wasn’t too drastic of a change for me to do the BC, but I am absolutely in love with the way my hair turned out.
If you are new to the area, or just looking to change stylists, I say go to Vasuda. I’ve only had this one experience with Linda, but I’m sure the quality of the other stylists is just as good.

I had an amazing time here the service is really good. I was a little scared at first because I have never been to a hair salon but it turned out to be great. I just came in for a straighten it was amazing. I would go again.

Let me first frame my review by saying I’m as picky and perfectionist as a hair client can be, and I’m fiercely protective about my curls. I’ve had horror stories of folks cutting my hair while straight, cutting too much into my perimeter (giving me what I like to call a «hair shelf» when I wear my hair curly) etc. I had been getting the Deva Cut from a family friend & hair stylist in Atlanta, GA for over a year and I loved her, but then I moved to Seattle. I put off searching for a place for a while because I was so scared to venture out somewhere new.
I scoured the web for information and reviews on Seattle salons that handle curly hair, and found Vasuda. But I remained skeptical until I did a consultation and then a cut/​style with Celeste. The reviews here aren’t really that concise. Seems like folks either great experience or a bad one.
Furthermore, there aren’t many reviews here for Celeste, especially regarding her work with curly hair. Well, I can say that Celeste has been an absolute dream stylist. She was incredibly patient with me both during the consultation when I peppered her with questions about her experience with curly hair, and then later as she was cutting and styling it. I asked for volume — she gave it to me. But because I had a work event that same night, I was in particular curl perfectionist mode and wasn’t comfortable with said volume.
She listened to me and made adjustments until I was satisfied with the look, and never once seemed exasperated or rushed. And now that I’m about 3 weeks post-​cut, I can assure you that my curls have NEVER looked better. I won’t even be going in for the complimentary touch up because my hair looks so good. Special thanks to Celeste for making this experience a positive one for me. I will certainly be back.

I was on the hunt for a salon in Seattle that specialized in both curly hair and offered the Brazilian Blowout treatment. Vasuda was a match made in heaven. After a quick consultation, I scheduled an appointment with Erica Carraway (Level 2 Stylist) to perform my BBO treatment. I’ve received the treatment for years in both Chicago and Scottsdale, AZ so this wasn’t anything new. Erica did a great job and I enjoyed beautiful results for about 3 months.
I recently ventured back into the salon for a wash/​trim. Erica was booked solid, so I made an appt with Linda (another level 2 stylist). Linda was new to the salon (came from Aveda) and gave me the best scalp massage of my life when she was washing my hair. The trim was pretty straightforward… I was only getting rid of splits, not getting a style, so I can’t speak to her skills in that regard.
Everyone at the salon is friendly and it’s a pleasant atmosphere.
The only con that I have is that I received a follow-​up call from the male receptionist (jr stylist?) 2 weeks later saying that it had been «a while» since my last appt, and they wanted to see if they could schedule something for me. This was a friendly thing to do, but it had only been 2 weeks so I was more annoyed than anything. I think he possibly called me on accident. Who knows… but either way, I don’t really need (or want) a follow-​up call 2 weeks later. But putting this all in perspective, if this is my biggest complaint, it’s really not THAT bad lol.

Yes, I have had a complete 360 degree turnaround from my experience with Vasuda. I had had a disappointing Japzillian with some curls still intact in the front and at the back and I posted my experiences both on Unilocal and facebook, Jessica and Emmett got in touch and wanted to do right by me. Never once were they defensive or judgmental or suspicious.
Emmett volunteered to come down and open the salon before business hours and to wash the treatment off as the 72hour period was over last night. Jessica spoke to me for over an hour despite sketchy network on my end and my call get dropping off. Her questions reflected her sincerity and strength of character. She apologised about my experience and I felt very grateful that she took the time to call and address my concerns.
My hair is not sharp straight after the keratin express and blow dry that Emett did in record time (complimentary), but it definitely looks healthy, shiny and like very little maintainance. Emett made sure he used the little iron to kind of ensure that the strands in the front that were curly get ironed out properly. He also ensured that he took his time in ironing and used the Morroccon Oil products which I am a huge fan of. He made a little note for me with all the products he used and I am definitely going back to them for both advice and hair care as I now trust that they are passionate about their craft and put the customer first always.
Additional stuff I dig about this Salon, beautiful exposed roof, bright appealing colors on walls, décor and the ambiance screams style, elegance and a dash of fun.
I think Vasuda is Seattle’s gift to me in way of reconfirming what I already seem to notice with people here– honesty, warmth and friendliness.
