Best Dentist I have ever had!!! And Paula the receptionist really follows up and works with your insurance so they can cover as much as possible. I have GEHA and KPS which both work with them. Price is reasonable for the great work he does, not the cheapest place but do you want cheap results? He is gentle and very thorough with his new patient exams. I have had a few cavities filled and re-​done by him and just went back for my first routine cleaning. He makes sure fillings look as close to the natural tooth anatomy as possible and knows his stuff. They also send follow-​up emails because they want to know how your teeth are doing. He is conservative as far as work goes. He tells you he is watching teeth and they may need a crown in the future, so you are not surprised. He is not drill happy and goes only as deep as necessary. He teaches at UW and is there on Tuesdays mornings and Wednesdays so he stays current on all new practices/​techniques. Highly recommend!

Poor communication and sloppy paperwork. The dental work seems standard with other dentists, but they don’t have a contract with Premera. I tried Stephen’s office anyway and had Paula estimate my bill before I booked my appointment. When I went to pay, my bill was 4 times higher then my estimate. Stephen did a poor job at communicating the details of my service and the impact of my final bill (he actually did none of this). I guess the lesson is to only have work done with offices that have contracts with my insurance company.

my one and only crown came off at 3am in a motel on my way to an airport on the east coast. i’d booked a flight to seattle and immediately contacted several dentists on Unilocal.i did this because several of their profiles suggested their response time was 3 days and more.
paula, the super nice and professional assistant at dr albright’s office, called me and left such a compelling, caring and concerned message while i was in the air, that despite there having been other messages from dentists i had contacted, i called back and got seen right away. paula’s message really implied something about who she is as human being, and she was really the reason i got in touch in the first place. i can’t overemphasize how important the «voice» of a dental office is (or any business for that matter) as far as connecting with potential clients.
my crown was cleaned and re-​attached. it is perfect now.
more detail: so, i produce a lot of saliva and it took the doctor three attempts to re-​cement it, which understandably left him frustrated, given that he’s probably done this for 40 years straight. i refused drugging so i take full responsibility for being less than an ideal patient due to shifting from pain and swallowing often etc.
but boy the results. the 7 year old crown is on better than it was before. i was sure it had to be replaced and redone ($$). for about 18 months it’d been bothering me occasionally. very sensitive, very sharp pain when biting on something very hard. all of this is now gone.
amazing job, by a perfectionist (i can relate, i am one too). not only do i not mind that it took more than one attempt (meaning cement on and then the whole thing off again, cleaned again, mouth cleared again, cotton swabs back into mouth, a waste of expensive dental cement (for which i was not charged), the whole shebang), i am actually thrilled about it. because what this says about the doctor is that he did his darndest to make absolutely sure my tooth was in tip top shape and the crown was on there perfectly, and not just sort of ok with a chance for it to become weak within a few months. it’s that he didn’t leave the crown in during the first two times that really showed me who he is as professional.
i appreciate this attention to detail. that’s the sort of perfectionism i want from my dentist. i dont want an ok job. i want the best. i want to get the feeling that someone cares for my health vs seeing me as an opportunity to make a decent amount of money in a few hours. of which i have gotten plenty, in the last 30 years of dentist visits.
the second part was a cleaning i then ordered. i think i received a sonic cleaning? at any rate, it was half the price that my los angeles dentist charges, and i felt, not sure how to put words to it: a hundred times better? best cleaning i ever had, and this was one of his lower end cleanings according to him. in 35 years of going to dentists and receiving cleanings, this was the best. (also thanks to the other assistant/​hygienist who was there at the time, who did half of the cleaning).
i may be up there in the region again soon, and i will actually make a point to schedule future appointments with dr. albright instead of «my» dentist in LA.
and i just received a follow up call by dr. albright personally, to see how the crown was holding up. i dont think any dentist has ever done that with me.

Dr. Albright and his wife, Paula, are a wonderful team that provide excellent dental service. I’ve been coming here for more than 4 years and have always been treated like family. They are both very caring, compassionate and professional people.
I was referred through my boss when I worked at Cuppa Jo on the Go. Even though I no longer work there, nor actually live in Seattle anymore, I still make a point to make an appointment when I’m in town.
I highly recommend Dr. Albright and his team!

I am so thrilled to have found Dr. Albright’s office! He and everyone at his office, Paula & Elmira are wonderful! I think they might even be the nicest dental office that I have been to ever! Dr. Albright has a very gentle touch and is extremely through. I was referred to his office by a colleague after a pretty traumatic dental experience. I can honestly say I felt completely at ease under Dr. Albright’s care. I highly would recommend his services!

Dr Albright and his wife, Paula, and their staff have been a bright spot on my dingy dental past:). I LOVE them, and I have serious dentist phobia and usually really get nervous going, but not since I found them! They are professional, warm hearted, kind and treat their patients like family. I recommend them all the time, and I’d give them 20 stars if I could. Give them a try!!! Oh and they donate services in many countries around the world, where Paula takes amazing photographs of their surroundings and the people they meet and help. What a team!!!

Look no further. Dr. Albright and his team are your home away from home. The best care, the best service and oh so gentle. They are there for you and you’ll feel like part of their family by the end of your first visit. Seriously — I’ve been going to Dr. Albright for more than 10 years… and when work took me away for a few of those years, I came back to Seattle for my dental visits. No comparison anywhere — 5 stars.
And bonus — great location… on the cusp of SLU and Eastlake… easy parking, and lake views from the comfy dental chairs.

Dr. Albright has been my dentist for a little over 6 years, and I can’t recommend him and the office enough. They have been really great about working with me over the years (through multiple insurance plan changes) and I’ve never felt pressured to do «extra» services. I have always felt that Dr. Albright and the staff have my long-​term dental health as their goal, and recommend and time services accordingly. I like that brushing and flossing are considered a treatment option and it isn’t just «fill, fill fill».
And the office has always been very diligent and consistent at appointment reminders and working with my schedule and following up on insurance etc.

Great dentist, great man, great friend!

I switched to Dr. Albright when I moved in the neighborhood and it was a big mistake. While the office interior is beautiful, and the staff is friendly, I didn’t go to the dentist for that. It seems that their only concern is that they will be paid then and there for their services. Even with insurance, the want payment before you leave the door (as opposed to being billed).
One thing that does concern me is that my previous dentist (and the one I switched BACK to) has no problem billing me and working with my insurance (I work for the government) to settle out what’s owed to them. Dr. Albright’s office does that however what comes out of my pocket is significantly different than what my previous dentist charges for my copay. This tells me that either they are not really working much with my insurance plan, or they are charging way too much compared to other dentists. After 4 appointments, I decided to stop seeing them. It was like a bad breakup — they continued calling me after wondering why I stopped seeing them. I gave them the cheesy «It’s not you, it’s me» line but in retrospect, it’s them. I do have to say the staff is nice, you get to listen to great music during cleanings.
Oh, another thing — they don’t offer nitrous oxide which is important for nervous patients.

Dr. Albright was my dentist when I lived in Seattle from 1998 – 2002, and since my recent return, I’ve gone back to him (a month ago).
As compared to other dentists, I’ve found that I appreciate that they are very straightforward about treatment options, and don’t give you a hard sell on things you don’t need.
(A Providence, RI dentist tried to convince me to get thousands of dollars of cosmetic work to improve the appearance of a root canal work — here, I was quoted a much more reasonable price to do just the actual work needed, rather than extensive whitening and other less essential work around the tooth.)
I also feel like his office goes the extra mile as far as being a pleasant and comfortable place to go – Paula, the office manager, is especially friendly and helpful — and when I was pursuing acting, they even attended a couple of plays that I was in, really going above and beyond.
Definitely recommended!

Ok… admittedly, I still have to go in for a cleaning, but I did the whole «new patient consultation» thing today… Everyone was very friendly and willing to explain everything as it happened (not that I could really ask all that many questions with my mouth hanging open and that mirror on a stick dealy-​bopper bouncing around in there). But Dr. Albright didn’t yell at me for chipping my tooth (#20 apparently) with my tongue piercing (ugly incident involving ravenous hunger and a bowl of cornflakes… bummer), and the reeeeaaaalllly good news is no cavities!!! And… having a new dental plan, and not really knowing exactly what I was covered for… I was really glad that Paula at the front desk was happy to explain all the details to me. Yet another couple of bonuses: free parking *and* open until 7 pm at least two days a week! All in all, a totally pleasant experience, and I look forward to going back for my cleaning. Remember kids: You only floss the teeth you want to keep!!! :-)
Update: Just went in for the cleaning last night (⁵⁄₂₃)… As anticipated, it was as pleasant as a visit to the dentist could possibly be. There was a switch up for me though… the last time I went for a cleaning (too long ago… I would be more embarrassed, but did I mention: NO CAVITIES?), they were still using those horrid instruments of torture to scrape your teeth. This time, there was a new tool, that has a trade-​off: totally pain free, but exceptionally noisy (a shrill noise that only dogs should be able to hear)… no matter… was made bearable by the fact that they let me listen to my Nano. On a more personal/​angry note: Curses to Dr. Lee (my childhood dentist) who refused to let me get braces when I demanded them (braces or a broken leg/​arm… Everybody else had one or both. Why couldn’t I???) Now Dr. A says I should have had them, and that I should seriously consider them now to prevent gum misery when I’m an old lady. DRAT! :-)
