Whether you are a beginning or advanced paddler, certified instructor and paddlesports author Rob Casey will work with you one-on-one or in small groups to help you improve your skills on the water.
Check out the variety of classes and clinics we offer ranging from SUP basics to surfing, tidal rapids, trip planning, racing, and our skills building series. You can also create your own class or tour. All classes are for small groups or individuals so you can get the most of your experience. Note: We’re not a shop and only rent to our students for their lessons.

History
Established in 2010.
An avid sea and surf kayaker, Rob tried paddle boarding in Kona on vacation in 2007. Being tall and not athletic, the only board available was too narrow so Rob never stood up. Vowing to eventually stand up, he tried again in Seattle renting from Jeff Abondonato at the former Cheka Looka Surf Shop. Jeff provided the correct sized board, Rob stood up, and was immediately hooked!
In late 2009, Rob noticed the Pacific Northwest had no quality SUP instruction, so he opened Salmon Bay Paddle. In 2011 he wrote the first guidebook about paddle boarding, «Stand Up Paddling Flat Water to Surf and Rivers» published by Mountaineers Books. In 2012 he revised the classic NW paddling guide «Kayaking Puget Sound.»
Seeing the growth of SUP in the Seattle area has been very exciting and I’m looking forward to sharing my passion for paddling and skills with you.
