Rev Fremont

I’ve lived here for 2 months now and love the location and the apartment. The concrete floors are easy to clean and all of my appliances are newer (probably installed in 2012?). I have lots of light in my apartment due to all of the windows and my balcony is huge – I could easily have a small table and 2 chairs out there! I can occasionally hear noise in the hallways and I’ve experienced only one cranky neighbor (who goes to bed at 6pm on Friday evening), but overall I haven’t experienced any of the problems that the others reviewers have indicated. The building was purchased by Tri Mark in November 2014, so perhaps some of the experiences were with the old company. Metro buses 28 & 40 are nearby and it’s only a 10 minute walk to the heart of Fremont. The building does not have a gym but the Burke Gilman Trail is across the street and I go for runs and bike rides without any remorse over the lack of a gym. The other nice thing is that rent payments are handled all electronically, so even if I’m traveling my rent still gets paid on time. The building is also very large dog friendly, so if you’re intimidated by or allergic to large dogs, this building is not right for you.

Pros:
— Concrete floors are modern and easy to clean
— Newer appliances in stainless steel
— Fullsize W/​D in unit
— Great insulation helps in cold weather
— Good location, especially if you like to spend time in Ballard. It’s nice having Fred Meyer nearby as well as some bars a few blocks away.
Cons:
— Management is slow to respond to emails; I have to send follow ups to my own emails because it’s like they otherwise go into a black hole
— My car got broken into INSIDE the garage. It cost me almost $ 600 to get that window replaced, and REV has no surveillance camera set up in the garage so I could not provide any evidence to SPD. The cop that came was nice and very sympathetic; but he said without any footage, I’m SOL.
— Lots of theft happening inside the building (bikes, storage units, packages) and I’m sure thieves use the lack of onsite staff and security measures to their advantage. There are absolutely no surveillance cameras anywhere.
— The garbage room is right by the front entrance, and that room has no ventilation; which means the smell permeates throughout the whole lobby. It’s no fun living on the first floor and having to make sure that smell doesn’t enter your home. It’s unbearable during the summer.
— I can hear my upstairs neighbor walking all the time and it’s really annoying.
I really liked living here at first, but I will not be renewing when my lease expires.

It must be nice to not need renters. This review is for the front office only as I can’t seem to get anyone to contact me so there isn’t much I can say about the apartments.
I have called twice on the phone. The first time I called the number on the website the recording said there was no one there and didn’t give an option to leave a message. Odd, I thought. Later in the day I called again and got a completely different message but it did give me an option to leave my number. Great I thought… until I got no return call. Two days later The Wife and I stopped by. They don’t have a leasing office but do have a call box that allows you to, yes, leave a message. Again, no return call.
At this point if they called and offered me 20% off I would decline. It is apparent to me that if their response time for maintenance is anything like for renting, forget about it. No wonder they have so many units available.

My girlfriend and I needed a place in a hurry and Rev Fremont offered us a month of free rent on top of a 6 month lease, plus 3 months of free parking in the garage. This made the place super affordable for that 6 months. Laina was super helpful with all of our accommodations and was available whenever we had questions.
The price after our 6 months lease for a studio was still a bit too high (~$ 1150 for first 6 months, ~$ 1400 afterwards), especially for under 500 sqft, so we had to move. I recommend a 1BR for a couple (studios are still too small for 2). Strangely, it looks like the prices have come down for studios ($ 1250 – 1300, $~1600/​1BR) since we moved in a year ago
The views were great (Queen Anne Hill view from the 3^rd floor), the area is good (10 – 15 minutes walking to Fremont or Ballard) and while at first the immediate area seems industrial, there are a good amount of hidden gems within a couple blocks (Way Station Coffee, Fred Meyer, Four B’s, Burke Guilman Trail).
FYI, lots of dogs in the building

Was in Seattle for seven month contract and found this absolutely great place to live! Very nice area, building was close to everything and was very safe. The management was accessible and very helpful. I highly recommend this property.

Screens were installed, and that is helpful, but I did end up moving. I moved on account of the fact that in my opinion, the management company did not perform their obligations to disclose the fact that a spin class occurs in the building behind my building. I often work from home, and even in the evenings or early mornings I’ve had to listen to the thumping. Attempting to communicate with the owner of the spin class business fell on deaf ears. My stress level was sky rocketing and I had to get out. This is not the ethical way to conduct business.
I was offered an alternative unit at the same price, but it would not have been comparing apples to apples, and I would have generally been shafted. No thank you.
Location-​wise, it is ok but not centrally located. However know that the traffic on Leary Way is like a freeway — there’s a lot and very few lights. The Fremont bridge often goes up/​down all day and that can impact your commute. The prices charged are too high for the area, and especially considering the level of competition that is currently either already open and being built.
There are no amenities to this building other than the garage parking and storage that you will be paying for if you use either. Furthermore, when you walk into the lobby, you’ll notice a huge design flaw. That smell is coming from the garbage room just off the lobby, behind the mailboxes. Not good. You can do better and after moving out, I DID do better.

Pros:
— Brand new
— Small building which feels more like a condo than an apartment complex (no leasing office or noisy communal areas)
— Management has been friendly and responsive to work orders
— Great units: concrete floors, tons of windows/​natural light (C.M.‘s review mentions the lack of window screens — these were installed in late July)
— Location: the setting is quiet and residential, yet many of the stores and restaurants in Fremont are walkable and the 28 and 40 bus lines provide convenient access to Ballard and downtown Seattle
Cons:
— We have had several issues with the (brand new) appliances
— The view varies quite a bit from unit to unit (some units have expansive views of the neighborhood with mountains in the background, a couple of units face a concrete wall, etc)
Overall:
For our money, this is a great place to live. The units are attractive, and the surroundings are very nice. Rent isn’t cheap, but it is similar to other apartment complexes which we considered in the area (such as Epicenter and Broadstone Koi).
