Welcome to «we are large, people»! I’m Rebecca Brown, and I’m so glad you stopped by! Fashion is one way to express esteem for yourself and to feel the beauty that you already possess. I don’t believe in fashion «rules» and «do’s and don’ts», but rather want to work with you to find your own personal style that makes you feel like a million bucks every single day. I want to create a safe space where you can explore new looks in a supportive and caring environment. I especially enjoy working with women that are plus-​sized, as well as women with special concerns or style needs (allergies/​sensitive skin, nursing mothers, etc.). I am local to the Puget Sound/​Seattle area and would love to work with you in person — but I also have packages that are online-​only,

I’m Rebecca Brown, and I started «we are large, people» in 2010 to help me mix my love of fashion with my passion for helping women see their true self worth. My personal mission is to stamp out low self esteem and false limitations, and to help women see themselves as truly beautiful, not just inside, but outside too!

I chose the name «we are large, people» to convey the idea that women are powerful and that we have a voice and a presence that is important. Also, it’s a nod to my own plus-​sized, fashionable self.

I am local to the Seattle/​Puget Sound area and would love to work with you in person if you are close, or virtually no matter where you live!

I asked Rebecca to consult me on my purchase of eyewear as I had no idea what was in style or what would look good on me. We had such a great time! We shopped 2 different places that she knew of having good brands and stylish eyewear. I was on a budget and she helped me find something in my price range that looked so good on me! Our few hours together resulted in me finding a pair of glasses I love, in my budget and we had a great time! She was so helpful in narrowing down what would work well with my face, haircolor, ect. She really knew what would look good before I even tried it on! She also helped me find glasses that were trendy, yet still could work for me for several years, which was what I wanted!
I definately reccomend her for any fashion project, be it something small like mine or a full blown re-​do of a wardrobe, she knows her stuff, where to find it, and she’s so fun to work with!

Rebecca is a very sweet and very knowledgeable woman who has adorable style herself and knows how to make people feel comfortable. We spent 3 hours going through my closet and tossing out things I’d been clinging to (some unknowingly) for no reason whatsoever. Ended up with 5 trash bags full for donation! AND she carted it away for me for donation so I didn’t even have to do that. Once we got through the ransacking of the closet she spent time with me styling outfits and showing me that I indeed had a bunch of hidden treasures that I could wear and walk out of my house feeling confident and super-​modelesque.
Even after our first session together, Rebecca has maintained contact, and checked in to see how I was doing with things. She is super helpful with tips on small items to add to your staples in the wardrobe, and I didn’t end up spending an arm and a leg! Its funny, but most people think of hiring a personal shopper as a luxury (which it is), but I think of it as more than that now, I actually saved money by not trekking out to Nordy’s and blowing my savings on new clothes, and got a clean closet and permission to wear the adorable things I already had, but did not know how to wear!
She even emailed me links to websites with ideas of what to do or add to my outfits we had looked at and discussed. SUPER helpful. Now when I’m shopping, I know what I need and I have purpose — another $$$ saver!
I’d recommend Rebecca to anyone who needs just a little assistance on figuring out what to do with the stuff in their closet, or even if you’re totally clueless when it comes to fashion. She won’t make you feel stupid or uncomfortable, and she can teach you so much that you feel like a fashionista when she’s done with you.
