this place is up and down every time I go and its either. I went in the other day after a month or two of not going in .nice and clean I went in and they had some really beautiful clams and a bunch of different corals now they were all really healthy and nice. good job! nice to see it as nice fish store again

Very helpful owner. He even gave me a free air-​hose even though I only bought 3 $ worth of food. Prices are very reasonable. The reason for the 2 stars is that i purchased 2 saltwater fish from their display on separate occasion (about 6 month apart). Both fish had ich and died few days later in my QT tank.
The owner will tell you anything to make you buy his fish stock including when i asked how long he had the fish in his store and his response was 2 month. I find it hard to believe.
FYI i never lost a fish that i purchased from other marine stores

Okay, so theres tons of several types of fishes and aquarium supplies. But I gave it a 2 star because of how really run down and dirty many of the tanks were. I mean I guess I shouldn’t be expecting much in an old International District, but I mean I’m giving it an honest score.
The staff is pretty helpful and informative and know much about the fish here. (good!) I would hate to go to a place that doesn’t know about their fish and how to care for it.
OVerall its a fun place to take your kids or just to browse around. But watch their hands theres like dried up salt residue and mold and yucky stuff around the tanks! Maybe thats why I give it a 2 stars I have a toddler and I worry about him walking next to the tanks and touching the gunk on the edges, even though I supervise him.
Hope you enjoy, they have a huge dragon fish in the entrance, its really COOL!

When I walked in this shop I could have sworn I was at a fishmongers, you know, where you buy fish to eat. The tanks and smells all appeared to be the same. There was a good selection of fish and great selection of coral, the best I’ve seen so far in Seattle. The help wasn’t any help on the day I visited, just a young guy sitting behind the counter with his legs up either on the phone or doing something, whatever it was, it wasn’t interacting with the customers. I thought the prices were the highest of all 3 in Chinatown.
In any case, if you’re in the market for fish you should visit all 3 shops since they’re all within walking distance. You’ll get the best deal by visiting all 3 and get some good exercise doing it!

This is a good place to step into if you have kids in tow. I love looking at the coral with that plexiglass thingy floating on the water. But the shop is run-​down, disorganized and some of the poor fishies are dead. (I can imagine that is a necessary evil with so many fishies, so be prepared to explain to your children) I guess that is part of the charm of going to the ID– things are just a little different!

QT Aquarium is a nice fish store located in the ID, right next to Bank of America.
My rating is base on just buying Siamese fighting fish (Betta) and the blood worms. The prices are very good and best prices for bloodworms. I also thought they had a nice selection of fishes and equipment here.
Whenever we stop here, my daughter has a wonderful time looking at all the fishes. The staff are not pushy and very helpful so you can spend as much time observing or admiring the saltwater fishes like Nemo.

Great fish store for Chinatown; Giant selection of salt water fish and decent selection of freshwater fish; My goal was a freshwater stingray (female); I called ahead and was assured that they had one female marbled motoro stingray in stock; So I drove almost an hour down to the store on Saturday morning; I inspected the ray and it was a male! I pointed this out to the workers and they disagreed with me! With rays its very easy to tell the difference; But the ray was so beautiful and healthy that I couldn’t resist and I bought it anyway!
This store was typical for Chinatown in that very few tanks had prices or labels on them but the workers are okay with negotiating;

This place was my first LFS to buy my fishes, supplies and tank.
the owner, very cool guy and helpful. Prices are competitive, in regards of food, equipment and supplies.
Usually, other LFS would sell hikari — frozen bloodworms for $ 6; QT sell’s them for $ 3.
All in all, this establishment is one of my stops for quality and prices.
Most aquarist’s will complain about small things like how they saw dead fishes or some things like this; im sure no one has seen one of their expensive stock dead, floating.
Dead gold fish compared to a dead motoro stingray, huge difference.
Thus, the amount of care is limited to that particular specie.
People with common sense visit QT to buy or deal, not instantly becoming an aquarium activist.
