It’s pretty clear that the folks behind the counter don’t care, but we were willing to put up with their crap because it’s a lot cheaper than buying a new replacement part. The difference was $ 480 for new vs. $ 55 for used.
The following conversations were edited for brevity:
On the phone:
[ME] I need a passenger side back window for a ’99 Ranger king cab.
[NIX] Driver side?
[ME] Passenger side.
[NIX] Nope. Don’t have one.
[ME] Can you check your national inventory?
[NIX] (long pause) I guess we do have one.
In person:
[ME] I called earlier about a passenger side back window for a ’99 Ranger king cab.
[NIX] Driver side?
[ME] Passenger side.
[NIX] OK, it will take about 45 minutes to pull it.
[ME] OK, I’ll get some lunch.
[NIX] We’ll call you when it’s ready.
In person, an hour and a half later:
[ME] I came in earlier and paid for a passenger side back window for a ’99 Ranger king cab.
[NIX] Driver side?
[ME] Passenger side.
[NIX] OK, it will take about 30 minutes to pull it.
Got the part about 25 minutes later. I’m guessing it took them less than ten minutes to pull the part, since it took about that long for me to install it. But you gotta love the prices.

Haven’t visited, just a phone call. The person was very rude. Answered the phone «yeah.» Gave curt, one word responses making it clear he didn’t care.
Busy or not. Long day or not.
Don’t treat your (potential) customers like shit, it’s what keeps you in business.

Boo! These guys suck! I needed a new rim for my daughter’s 2001 VW Bug so I called around and they said that they had one here. I drove clear across town and after checking out my car, they sold me a 15 inch rim for 25 bucks. When I got to the tire store they told me that all of the other rims on my car were 16 inches. So I called these guys back and told them that they had sold me the wrong size and asked if they could just swap the fifteen inch rim they sold me for a sixteen inch rim. He told me that they didn’t have any sixteen inch rims in stock, but he could order one from Oregon for an additional 75 bucks! What the??? He sells me the wrong size of rim, and won’t give me my money back and won’t find me the right one? Then he suggests that since it was only going to be a spare I should just use the wrong size. Pretty lame business if you ask me.

I’ve run a business across the street from these guys for nearly 8 years. I’d never had the chance to use their services before, but stopped in to ask about a junk car we needed to move. The only reason I even stopped in was because I wanted to give them the business first, as they are a small, neighborhood shop.
The old man running things down there couldn’t have been more rude. After waiting for him to tell jokes to someone on the phone, he finally acknowledged me. He spit out a silly-​low price before we could even finish telling him about the vehicle. This price was lower than what the tires ALONE were worth (WHOLESALE). I understand there needs to be retail room for a salvage yard. I do understand this. But, the truth is, he lowballed me and didn’t even care I knew he was trying to rip me off. When I asked, «Are you serious?» He proceeded to tell me I didn’t know what I was talking about. (Though, he still didn’t even know what kind of car I had.)
Well, we sold the car the next day to somebody else for three times what he quoted us.
What a waste of time it was even going into this place. Sometimes, there is a reason businesses stay «small» for fifty years. In this case, it’s because they have no idea how to run a business. Save yourself a trip.

A junk yard that has been around since the dawn of time… Or something. It is nice to find a junk yard so close that has such a great collection. If you are trying to keep your 20 year old car running for cheep Nix has what you need… if it has been wrecked. Sometimes they pull the parts if it is too dangerous.
