Bonnie was great to work with! She met with us and drew up what we wanted and our cake was everything I dreamed and so delicious! Also so sweet of her to make a little anniversary cake on our first anniversary. I highly recommend!

We sampled many types of cakes from many places before deciding on Bonnie to bake our wedding cake. Not only were her cakes the most delicious, they were also affordable! And what an incredible cake it was! We got two flavors — toasted hazelnut and cappuccino, and all of our guests were raving about the cake! Plus, she told us that instead of freezing the top layer to eat a year later, she would bake us a fresh cake on our one year anniversary to enjoy — free of charge! Our cake was beautifully decorated too, and we couldn’t be happier with New Renaissance Cakes!

Bonnie was such a joy to work with. She was super accommodating and made the most beautiful wedding cake. We brought her an example photo of a similar wedding cake that we liked, and told her to change a few things… The cake turned out to be exactly what we had in mind. Highly recommended!!!

Seriously have been looking for cakes this good the past 15 years. So glad to find Bonnie. She is a cake master! Have loved her coconut cake! Just tried her seasonal strawberry. It’s a delicious summer treat! Going to order red velvet and lemon next order. We are serious cake fans!

We ordered our three lier wedding cake and cupcakes here. They tasted amazing, everyone loved them so much! We ordered a mint color wedding cake, but it arrived a light green/​yellow color. That was the only imperfection we had with our wedding cake. I would still give it 5 stars because it was delicious and the service was fantastic!

Bonnie is such a fantastic find! I brought in an image from Pinterest, and she was able to create the cake to look exactly like the photo. I was so impressed with the sugar flowers and the presentation. She even had a great idea to bring a cake stand prior to the wedding, and she built it right onto the stand to give the cake additional height.
And to top it off, it wasn’t just a beautiful cake. The flavors were delicious and my guests were raving. I chose the lemon curd/​chiffon with vanilla cake for the top, and the bottom layer was hazelnut brittle with chocolate ganache.
Thanks again Bonnie! The cake surpassed all my expectations!

Amazing place! Bonnie is really nice and professional. She’s really good at what she does and it’s clear that she loves doing it! We ordered our wedding cake here and she made an amazing one with crazy details. It was delivered on time, beautifully set up, and DELICIOUS! It was sooooo heavenly!
When we arrived at our tasting session, she brought out little slices of the most amazing cakes I’ve ever had!
The cakes are quite expensive but totally worth it.
You’re supposed to return the cake platter she brings within 3 days but since we left on our honeymoon so quickly, she said it’d be okay if we brought it later (we had someone drop it off anyway).

One of the biggest priorities for my wedding was that we had to have excellent cake, ok, yes, I have a slight obsession with cake. I searched out personal recommendations and those on Unilocal.I tried several bakeries in the Seattle and greater Seattle area, but when I tried Bonnie’s cake I knew this was IT! It wasn’t getting any better! The cake is phenomenal. She is a superior decorator as well, I looked through an extensive collection of pictures, but we wanted a very simple design – the cake itself was the most important. During the tasting she came with a platter of her signature flavors. The cake in all of them was perfect, light, moist, fluffy but melted in your mouth. How cake should be. Each cake was paired with fillings and frosting that highlighted the cake and brought complimentary flavors. With each flavor we tried, it was obvious Bonnie has spent a painstaking amount of time crafting all of her recipes. We ended up choosing her White wedding cake and chocolate cappuccino, some of the «simpler» flavors but she had transformed plain vanilla and chocolate into a wedding cake that sang. Bonnie was wonderful to work with, she took notes throughout our meeting and made a drawing to make sure we were on the same page. She followed up with me the week before the wedding to get the final details and made sure everything went smoothly. Logistics were a breeze and there was no doubt in my mind that she had everything on her end running like clockwork. I sincerely look forward to ordering special occasion cakes from her in the future, and cannot recommend her highly enough.

Mendoza Wedding: What a way to begin the first chapter of our lives together. From the on-​set of our first meeting with Bonnie, we felt extremely comfortable knowing that we had somebody that was so easy to work with. She was super friendly and listened to every idea that we had and designed our cake EXACTLY like we described it. She gave us tons of options and made sure to follow up with us before our wedding date to finalize details. Without any hiccups, she communicated with our caterer and showed up on time with a beautiful cake. She was even able to duplicate our family crest and place it on our cake as part of our design (See Photos Below).

This place was strongly recommended to me by my wedding planner, and was my #1 choice to fulfill my wedding cake request. Bonnie made a custom red-​velvet cake with a great cream cheese filling and white chocolate crust. She made it look exactly, if not better than the picture I gave her. When the cake made its debut at my wedding, everyone was impressed by not only the looks, but bu the awesome taste as well. The left-​overs were stolen as soon as I announced the extra pieces.
The greatest part, we didn’t need to save a stale 1-​year old cake to celebrate the anniversary, as part of the service, Bonnie will make a free one on your 1-​year special day!

Hands down the best in Seattle if not the US. We went to all the usual haunts for wedding cakes in Seattle. After many mediocre appointments and two awkward ones (Mike’s Amazing messed up someones cake and another who was completely unprepared), Bonnie was a breath of fresh air. She was very friendly, thoughtful, creative and patient. She even made us a mini sample of our cake before we agreed so we had peace of mind.
Bonnie is great, delivery was on time and we had no hiccups on our special day.

We requested a cake in the shape of a stack of suitcases since our wedding was travel themed. It turned out absolutely beautifully! Bonnie paid amazing attention to detail, even trimming the suitcases in our wedding color. The bride and groom sitting on the cake were adorable, and the flavors were delicious! I highly recommend the chocolate with Belgian chocolate bits inside. DELICIOUS! Thanks Bonnie!

For our wedding cake — we selected the classic white wedding cake. For the groom’s cake — we selected a german chocolate cake. Both were decorated as requested — perfectly simple in decoration (simple is harder than flashy cakes as any error is very apparent). The cakes were excellent tasting, especially the german chocolate cake which was a huge hit.

I have to preface this review by saying that I have EXTREMELY picky taste in cakes — it was the one thing that I wanted to do totally right for my wedding. I had been an admirer of the cakes on New Renaissance Cakes website for years, actually, so I really wanted to use them, and I am SO glad I did! The design process with Bonnie was SO fun, the flavor tastings were awesome and delicious, and of course the outcomes at the end were phenomenal! I just posted photos of both my main cake and a smaller groom’s cake that I got for my husband. We decided to design the main one off my china pattern, which I had unintentionally fallen in love with (I wasn’t even thinking of doing fine china before that!). The only thing we realized we couldn’t do was have cream cheese icing with the design because it doesn’t work with fondant over it, but in EVERY other respect it was absolutely perfect! I can’t tell you how many people complimented us on the look and taste of the cakes. I currently have the photo I posted of the main cake as my desktop photo on both my work and home computers, too, and I intend to get one framed for my wall too. :) I just can’t say enough good things!
One more comment about the fact that we couldn’t use cream cheese frosting — Bonnie didn’t realize that it wouldn’t work until it was pretty late in the process, but she was SO professional about it. She called me and offered to make the cake itself with buttercream frosting but also throw in a bunch of sheet cakes with cream cheese frosting for free so people could eat it with the flavors I had originally wanted, plus refunding me for my groom’s cake! I ended up taking her up on refunding the groom’s cake only, turning down the sheet cakes because it was just a wasteful amount of cake. :) But the point is, Bonnie handled it more than flawlessly, and we both learned something about fondant! Bonnie was amazing! She wasn’t super friendly or anything, but she knows her stuff. I brought pictures of cake designs I liked and as we discussed what I was looking for, she just started sketching away. She was the most detailed and helpful one out of all the other baker’s I meet with. We ended up choosing a round three-​tiered cake, half Raspberry White Satin and half Toasted Hazelnut. Also, instead of having to freeze the top, you can come back a year later for some fresh cake! According to the guests I talked to, they enjoyed the cake. Either they really enjoyed it or they were just being nice.

I chose New Renaissance to do my wedding cake and had a wonderful experience with Bonnie. She is very sweet and got really excited about my wedding cake idea. Out wedding theme was beets (don’t ask) and she made adorable minature beets out of marzipan to adorn the cake! She was very generous with samples and made two small cakes in the different flavors I was interested in for me to take home and try with my fiancé!
The cake was so incredibly delicious. One of my friends told me she had three pieces! I can’t recommend New Renaissance enough!

Okay, full disclosure time. The proprietor, Bonnie, is a personal friend of my wife and I. She did a fantastic job on our wedding cake (the tilty, orange, whimsy cake shown). When we cut into it, there was a collective «Noooo!» that went out from everyone who had admired it all evening.
