History

Established in 1999.

Dr. Tucker received his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. During his 8 years at Penn, he was initiated into Delta Phi Alpha, the National German Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the Dental Honor Society, and the Matthew Cryer Honor Society, the highest scholastic award granted by the U. of Penn Dental School. He furthered his knowledge by completing a general practice residency at the Jewish General Hospital of Montréal. After returning home to Pittsburgh and practicing general dentistry with his father for 2 years, he moved to Seattle and received both his Certificate of Proficiency in Periodontics and his Master of Science in Dentistry at the University of Washington in 1996. Dr. Tucker was the Clinical Editor of the Seattle Study Club Journal from 1997 – 2003. The only reason this is not a 5 star rating is because I’ve only seen Dr. Tucker for a consult to have an implant done. I went to him this morning and thought it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a dentist. The entire office staff is friendly, caring and knowledgeable. Really puts a patient at ease to feel like your dental needs are being cared for. That is the big take away from my consult, by going to Dr. Tucker and his staff I will be cared for. I can’t wait to get my implant from him, and will post a (probably 5 star) review.

I went to Dr. Tucker for gum grafting to cover both recessed gum tissue on a tooth and an adjacent dental implant. They helped manage my dental anxiety with sedation medication and the results following the procedure were GREAT! The area in question looks exactly like it used to.

I was recommended to Dr Tucker by my general practice dentist for implant procedure. Dr Tucker and his staff have been excellent in dealing with me. The entire procedure has required coordinating the services of my general dentist, an orthodontist, and Dr Tucker’s services, as well as my own phobia about dentists. In addition to the implant, he has had to do two extractions to make room for the orthodonture and the site for the implant. The procedures were preformed with a minimal amount of trauma and after pain. I was able to return to normal daily activities within a day. I am completely satisfied with his skill and service and highly recommend Dr Tucker and his staff.

I feel honored and privileged to give Dr. Tucker and his staff the highest rating. I have been a patient of Dr. Tucker for 12 years. During that time he has remarkably improved my dental health. I have had several surgical procedures and have always had the greatest of care by Dr. Tucker and his staff. I have never needed prescription pain medication following any procedure I’ve had done in his office. I believe that Dr. Tucker’s preparation and attention to detail is the reason for this. Dr. Tucker is an extremely well educated and experienced professional. I don’t believe there is a better periodontist. Dr. Tucker takes the time to thoroughly explain every detail of a procedure and why it is necessary. He stays «on top» of your dental care and maps out with great care and concern the treatment required for your best results.
All of these things are great… and extremely important when deciding whom to choose when you need this type of care. But this part may be just as important… Dr. Tucker is a professional who is genuinely concerned about you, his patient. After every surgical procedure I have had by Dr. Tucker he personally calls you at home to check on you. Following my last procedure, done on a Friday, he called me at home on Sunday to check on me and gave me his personal phone number to call in case of any problems. I don’t know of any doctor or dentist who does that, and I don’t think you’ll find too many that do.
If you need this type of care, you won’t find a better doctor or staff.

I cannot be more happy to give Dr. Tucker and staff a five star rating! I found Dr Tucker to be warm and assuring as to my care. He gave me a thorough examination and was very welcoming to any questions or concerns I had.
He gave me full explanation of what was going to occur during the procedure (upper removal for dentures) and walked me through it which did a lot to ease my anxiety.
Oh, I might also say it was «painless» which was the most concern.
The staff was also very warm and caring. If you are considering implants or extraction you would be wise to consider Dr. Tucker and his staff.

I had a grueling 3 hour procedure yesterday. Let’s just say they made sure I was well medicated and didn’t feel a thing. Whew. Gary (female) is really nice and she wheeled me to and from my friends car in a wheel chair. I would be happy to review the lady that performed the procedure had I any memory of the situation :-). I can tell she did a great job as my gums feel great today and not worked over with cuts, etc. Thank you.

Do not trust this office! I went in for a consultation about pain I was experiencing with an implant (He did not do the work himself). He told me the cost of removing excess cement from the tooth would cost over $ 800. I checked in with two other offices and they were shocked at the quote. Both of the other offices I had spoken with regarding the cost stated that procedure normally would only cost $ 50 — $ 100.
The day of my appointment I requested that the medical notes he took and the x-​ray be sent to a different office for a cross consultation. It has been 20 days now and they still have not sent anything over. I called their office and spoke with Gary 3 times and also left a message on their voicemail (which they never called me back) requesting that the documentation be sent to another office. She stated that they would send the documentation to me since they do not have enough time to do it themselves. I asked when it would be sent to me and she would not give me a day.
I am beyond frustrated with this practice. How hard is it to send over some paperwork and an x-​ray? Also why are the prices for a procedure knocking other offices off their chairs because it is so outrageous? In my opinion, they are very unprofessional and sneaky. Do not trust this office.

Everyone at Renaissance is great!!! Dr. Tucker has such a great attitude and is so funny. I needed to get an implant for a tooth and was scared witless about the surgery. He assured me and was confident that I would be in tip top shape with little to no pain. He was totally right. They really took care of me, and Gary is so personable. I highly recommend!

Implants are serious, exacting work; not done correctly, they can go bad, an awful experience. So what you need for such work is a righteous perfectionist. Dr, Tucker is such an individual, but in a personable, friendly way. I’ve had two implants done by Dr. Tucker and both were nailed perfectly. Needless to say it isn’t cheap but this is about the last place one should shop around for bargains.
