I’ve been looking for a soup place close to my office in Sodo. Stopped by for first time today. Had the chicken tortilla soup, very flavorful and tasty! Ordered a chicken lettuce wrap that was the best I’ve had! Thumbs up from this guy!

holy soups!!! My coworkers and I LOOOVVEE this place! Such a great soup selection, they always have some that are gluten free for me which is great to not have to worry. The soups change everyday which is awesome. We go here almost 3 times a week!

Tried this place out for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. It is a tiny little house-looking building with walk-up window service. I got the Cuban Panini and my boyfriend got the chili and both were fantastic. A couple picnic tables in the shade of trees on a warm sunny day and it is the perfect spot! I can’t wait to try some other things on the menu.

I have gone to lects for a number of years and the food really is good. The staff on the other hand are either really high or just plain stupid. They consistently screw up the orders, it’s soup and sandwiches for f’s sake. Make sure you double check your order. I was handed someone else’s and didn’t realize it until I was miles away F’em

Awesome place where you’d least expect! Great hardy soups and salads. Soups come with roll, butter, salt and peper. Prices are great aswell, free soup after 10 purchases. Fast and friendly service. I go there 2 – 3 times a month! Highly recomended. 5 Stars all the way!

What happened? Lect’s soup used to be so good. Their soups were like $ 5 each and proceeds were given to some charity. Then the prices slowly went up and up as quality goes down, down, down. I just ordered two soups and cheese bread for $ 22 dollars — OUCH. And then the soup tasted like it was out of can, I can appreciate the sand particles as part of the clam chowder experience. But Really!?! at these prices I would expect more. I used to be a regular customer, but no more.

love this soup stand, the Tomato Basil Bisque is to die for. and the portion sizes are more then enough to feed one person. If you order the meal, you automatically get a macaroni salad and a bag of chocolate chip cookies.

Best soup I’ve eaten outside of homemaking it! Their soup is made fresh daily and they are always trying new flavors — I find myself returning every other day to try something new and I’m never disappointed. Their sandwiches are pretty good, too, a step above the average sandwich shop. Also, I am addicted to their salads. They use the freshest ingredients and their salad dressing is definitely housemade. I’ve never had cheese this soft from a salad before, they definitely don’t skimp on the quality! I would recommend this place to anybody in the area or driving by — it’s a must, trust me, I’m a foodie.

These guys… so awesome! Drove around for ten minutes trying to find it and showed up at 3:02 and almost had my heart broken cuz they were closed. They were very kind and let me and my co worker get some soup. What a great group of employees and such good soup. Thank you Lects! You really made my day!

They hit a rough patch awhile back but now with new management /chef they are back to their high standards and are even expanding their menu to include not one but two special sandwiches each week. And this week, a new salad special! Today’s soup was a new one, chicken artichoke and it was yummy! My favorites include their spinach salad, the caprese sandwich and their Thai-style chicken soup. I’m glad that one of my favorite lunch spots has turned things around. Keep up the good food!

Food is great, I rarely ever actually get soup. Lect’s rotates it’s menu all the time. If you’re on a budget, this place can cost you up to $ 10 per meal. The guys working here don’t accept tips, but instead donations for a local charity they support. No frills, no bullshit. I like that.

I work in the neighborhood and have been going to Lect’s Soup Stop for a couple of years. I have noticed that recently the soups have become just broth with a few tidbits of meat and vegetable. Even the chili w/beef and beans was merely watery broth with a few beans. I gave it another try today, and ordered the Split Pea Soup which also turned out to be like overly peppered chicken broth with some carrots and a couple spoons of peas. There is a reason the saying is «as thick as pea soup.» I have coworkers that have stopped going to Lect’s Soup Stop and I am sorry to say this was my last visit as well.:(

Lect’s is a tiny little lunch spot in Georgetown that serves up good, and sometimes even great soup. It’s not fancy stuff, just classic soups like your grandma used to make. Check out their website to see what soups they’re featuring each day. They always have Country Vegetable, which is not my favorite, but is nice if you’re a vegetarian looking for something a little bit lighter than the usual Georgetown lunch fare. The Green Chile Chicken and the Sausage and Chicken Gumbo are both absolutely delicious. The soups always come out super hot and they’re served with a Grand Central Bakery roll. For just a dollar or two extra you can add on a small grilled cheese panini. Again, not at all fancy but oddly comforting on a rainy Seattle day. Must be the American cheese. There’s plenty of street parking so getting in and out for lunch is super easy. Gotta love that the profits go to charity!

OH NOOooooooo! I hate so say it but since the recent staff changes the soup quality is noticeably weaker. Seems watered down and loveless. Please bring back the four star soup!

I was so surprised to receive a response to my Unilocal posting request to make the GT Brew Broc/Cheddar soup without bacon! Today was the day it was supposed to happen… and when I got there… they had a batch, bacon free, ready to go! :) Thanks for listening to your customers and trying something different! I just wanted to tell you that the soup is totally delicious ad I really like the fact that I can now taste the broccoli and not the bacon! Very good soup ~ again! :)

At the 1998 Grammy Awards Aretha Franklin stepped in at the last minute to sing«Nessun Dorma» for Luciano Pavarotti. Lect’s Soup Stop puts that performance in a cup and calls it Loaded Potato. Nothing but jaw-dropping chunky bites of luxury in these Styrofoam bowls. On a clammy fall day I picnicked at one of the Stop’s several outdoor tables. The wind whipped my book’s pages. Leaves fell into my lunch. My butt was cold and wet. Awesome. This is opera for stonemasons. After finishing my meal and while drafting this post, Chef Charles introduced himself and poked me for some commentary. I told him to look for an Aretha reference on Unilocal. As I started the car to leave, he waved an envelope at me and yelled, «Hey Gary, I got some mail from from Unilocal!» I love coincidences and Lect’s soup. Comes with a hard roll, butter and assertive attitude.

I don’t really like the sandwiches except for the mini grilled cheese panini. Stick with the soups(not all created equal) and spinach salad.

warm soup and for a good cause! I have been spending a lot of time down in Georgetown lately. Lect has been a nice little find in this corner of Seattle. Basically a tiny shack with take out only. They have few park benches around but thats about it. The soups are pretty tasty and somewhat creative. The italian sausage and squash soup comes to mind. I also can’t resist the miniature grilled cheese panini you can also get with your soup. The sandwiches I have had are of the deli variety and don’t stand out as much as their soup. Check them out!

I asked the people if this place any good before I placed the order. Never paid attention to this small house like place selling good soups, and sandwiches. I love any chowders. I ordered the combo soup and sandich, with Grilled Caprese with mozzarella, basil presto, tomato on a «Bolo» roll. It was hot and tasty. I loved it the first bite. Corn chowder is OK, I’ve had better ones, perhaps the soup base is on the higher MSG side? The Macaroni salad was pretty good as well. For $ 9, a hot and hearty meal, that is not bad. They open 10 am — 3 pm only. M-F A point is taken away that I had to stand in the rain in a long line… Server was friendly though. Will go back to try other item very soon.
