The folks at JF Henry are so nice! I decided to go there to buy a new salad spinner instead of buying it from Amazon. I got the instant gratification of buying it local and taking it home to use to make dinner that night. Plus… it was the same price!!! My son had a fun time looking at several things that were fun and caught his eye. I promised him we would be back soon to buy some Popsicle molds.

This store is kind of dangerous. I could easily spend way too much money on the awesome selection of cookware, china, and unique gadgets. That’s not to say they have exceptionally high prices, just that I could easily buy almost one of everything they sell.
I’ve dropped in on a few occasions when I’ve been looking for certain items (which they’ve always had) and on other occasions when I’ve just wanted to browse.
While their selection is impressive, their knowledgeable employees definitely warrant 5 stars. When looking for a certain type of pan, one employee (who has helped me on other occasions) explained the advantages and disadvantages of the various products they sell. Given my needs, she explained which would work best for me which happened to be the cheaper item. I thought it was honest that she didn’t try to up-​sell me on a product that wouldn’t necessarily work best for me.
As a bonus, I always see a sale table or section with a great array of products at very reasonable prices.

I’m blowing this business 5 star kisses because the owners provide such a friendly environment to shop in, they’re super helpful and knowledgeable without being in your face, their selection of kitchen and tableware spans unique creative & traditional, and their prices aren’t to the moon.
Ask them why wood cutting boards are safe and sanitary and they’ll school you on the subject.
Mention must go to their antique phone booth.
One of my favorite purchases so far: a William Bounds pink empire pepper mill. So girly! So me!

As another reviewer said, I can’t believe I haven’t been here before! The storefront is perfect and appealing. The shop is two stories, mostly china and collectibles on the bottom, and a treasure trove of kitchen gear upstairs. I could have spent an hour looking around if I didn’t have an appointment to get to. Their stock isn’t an overwhelming wall of choices, but just what you need. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but in no way pushy. It’s more like a friend came over to chat a little. I believe the owner helped me find some things in the kitchen section and another employee told me she has worked there for 20 years. These are people that know what they are talking about. The prices were very reasonable and much better than a big box store (think Crate and Barrel). It’s a place to get quality gear at a good price. Several sections had sale items and I was tempted to go beyond my list for great prices on «someday» kitchen gear.
Since the store is on the edge of the busiest part of the Junction, I suspect people may overlook it. Or, perhaps the cute storefront or suspicion that a small, mid-​to-​upper scale shop is out of their price range keeps people from checking it out. Don’t miss this gem of W. Seattle! Why drive downtown or across town to get the same thing for more money? I’m sure you’ll be just as pleasantly surprised at what you find (especially for the good price) and want to make sure other people get in there.
The woman who rang me up said they are working on a website and I suggested they get more information into Unilocal.I believe they are open at 9a during the week but not sure about the weekend hours.
