Never responded to my email sent from his website. If busy, it would be professional to hear that that is the case.

Jeff at Help Computr has been our Tech Guy for our business for a few years now. He’s worked through our slow PC issues, set up a bulletproof wireless network, updated memory on our MAC and got our Parallels system up and running. He has given us links to the hardware we need to order so we can have it waiting for him when he arrives (and we don’t have to track it down), and when he comes to install it he’s always been professional, efficient, and effective.
And to top it all off, he’s a nice guy! Easy to talk to, funny, and thoughtful. A great experience, glad to have found him!

I’m totally surprised by some of the reviews as my experience was totally counter to the negative reviews.
I took a chance on Help Computr despite the mixed reviews and had a great experience. I wanted to wait to review to make sure that everything was working properly and both computers that I had repaired are working better than ever! AND, he fixed them at an VERY affordable price! I had brought one of my computers that was having issues to Best Buy to see if the Geek Squad could help me and Best Buy basically told me to buy a new computer, because my problem was too extensive to fix. Mr. Help Computr solved it in a day and communicated with me at critical points to keep me updated on the status of the computer. Thanks Help Computr!

I used Jeff’s services while visiting Seattle for a week. Jeff was very helpful when he took my laptop in for repair. However, when I got it back, it had intermittent ops and soon failed. From that point forward Jeff stopped answering my e-​mails. When I got home I took the PC into a local shop, they replaced the memory, and it’s been running ever since…

After several phone calls and an email, no one EVER responded to my plea for help! I even walked to the address listed on Unilocal only to discover that it’s a residential apartment building.
Boo!

I have to disagree with some of the prior comments. I contacted Jeff to have him fix up an old laptop so I could give it to a friend. He was endlessly patient with my dumb questions and very nice. My bill was VERY reasonable (downright cheap) and he did a great job. That darn laptop has never run better — now I’m sad I’m giving it away! Oh and it was fixed in a jiffy! Its really nice to have great service again! I would recommend Help Computr to anyone.

Help Computr never responded to my calls or email. I tried contacting them twice via phone and once via an email «help request» through their website. All of the contact attempts were made during their business hours and I received no response.

Jeff came over to help out my laptop that was slow, and also to help me get my I-​tunes being recognized by the PC. He was on-​time, and frriendly, and knew what he was doing, but I felt that some of the endless scans we were doing on the computer were wasting away our hours. He also said he was going to check back in later with me about what kind of new memory card I would need. I ened up paying for two hours when I think one would been sufficient. He also never got back to me regarding more memory.

Help Computr takes the e[nigma] out of your comput[e]r.
Do you find yourself wishing you had a friend or neighbor who «knows computers» so you could ask them to help figure out your situation? Or are you pretty good with computers but find yourself coming up blank because of some obscure problem? Jeff is the guy you’re looking for.
Don’t disconnect everything and go to Geek Squad (or pay the premium for their house calls.) Don’t upgrade your tech support plan to avoid spending 3 hours on hold. Go to
, submit a support request, and prepare to feel really good about your decision.
Jeff will come to you, work through the problem, and explain it so you understand it (without making you feel dumb). He fixed my three minor problems in about half an hour. Best $ 20 I ever spent.
I actually sleep better at night knowing that Help Computr is an email away.

Since I have a laptop, I store all my music on an external hard drive. Imagine my sorrow when one day it went whirr… whirr… whirr… then made a terrible screeching sound. Sure enough, it refused to boot.
I’m actually pretty technically literate, but at the time I was working full time and going to school full time and had a crazy schedule. I tried various things to revive it, but it seemed determined to remain dead. It became a quiet paperweight. Eventually I bought another hard drive because I was too busy to troubleshoot the existing one. I never fully gave up on it, though, and from time to time I’d remember my wonderful music of yesteryear.
Along came Jeff, who determined that the drive was fine and only the case had gone kaput. He researched new external cases and found one that was cheap, good looking, and had positive reviews. He ordered it, put the drive in, tested it… and presto! My whole library of music is back in action.
I now blast Mogwai, the Gossip and Trentemoller in Jeff’s honor.

Help Computr is by far the best tech support I have ever had experience with. Help Computer is a guy named Jeff who actually comes to your house (on his Help Computr Scooter!) instead of having to disconnect and lug your computer to him. He has excellent hours including evenings and weekends, which is great for me because I can’t ever escape work during the regular business day. Did I mention how reasonable his services are? $ 40 per hour, flat! I’ve paid a couple hundred dollars in the past for work that I’m certain took a maximum of 30 minutes to do.
Jeff is honest, thorough, and friendly. He doesn’t try to nickel and dime you or sell you something you don’t need. In fact, he’s a big proponent of open source (free) software and has helped me select programs that are really useful. I have two Macs and he solved my wireless networking problems, selected and installed an external hard drive for my documents, music, and photos, set up a wireless connection between my iTunes and my speakers, even advised me on the best peripherals for my price range. His service doesn’t stop when he leaves your house, either. If he finds something that he thinks will be useful for you, he’ll send you a link and advise in an email.
I’m so glad I stumbled upon his Unilocal listing. I was about to pay a lot more for half the service. It also feels good to support a local business.

First, let me state that Jeff B. (the owner) is not my friend — it’s just that by the time he’s finished helping you, well, you feel like he is. He’s just «good people» as we say where I’m from. Okay, onto what your really want to know…
Jeff came to my rescue when my Dell desktop shut off by itself and refused to turn back on. I called him on Sunday morning and he came by that afternoon. I was most appreciative as I am new to town and the computer/​internet is my link to a job! After a few tries, he determined that it was probably one of two things: 1) the onboard video had imploded or 2) the motherboard was fried. He couldn’t determine which without my purchase of a video card, which he helped me select. In order to ease my stress, he spiffied up my 5 year-​old Dell dinosaur laptop so that the internet ran superbly (and safely) and the MS office could function well enough.
He came by again a couple of days later after I bought the video card and, unfortunately, it was the wrong size for my smaller cpu. As he advised me on the purchase, he generously offered to purchase another video card himself and also handle the return if the video card wasn’t the problem. In addition, he didn’t charge me for the visit. People, the man is serious about his customer service!
When the video card he ordered arrived, Jeff came by once more and after installing it he was almost certain that the motherboard was done for. He suggested that I take my computer to another repair place for a diagnostic to be 100% certain as that diagnosis meant buying a new computer (he doesn’t yet have the equipment that could do a hardware diagnostic).
In the end, it was that my computer’s motherboard was dead, dead, dead. After I emailed Jeff with the news and my decision to purchase a MacBook to replace it, he sent a long, clear and thorough email advising me on which one he thought would be best for me. Then a day later, he send me an email letting me know that Amazon was offering a rebate on MacBooks. He’s a solid guy.
So, who should call Jeff at Help Computr? Everyone who wants kindler, gentler tech support. He’s honest, helpful, and knowledgable. He’ll change your mind about «tech guys» having zero interpersonal skills.
