Supporting Fair Trade artisans around the world, selling folk art, jewelry and accessories with passion and integrity since 1982 in the historic Pike Place Market, Seattle.
History
Established in 1982.
Hands of the World was and still is my first child. A modest beginning at the Pike Place Market Street Fair blossomed into a tiny shop and eventually grew into the fabulous store it is today.
Thank you to my long suffering and eternally supportive husband Kent and the many wonderful women who I have had the pleasure to work with these many years (you know who you are!).

Cynthia H.
Business Owner
It all started in 1980 while working in a refugee camp on the boarder between Thailand and Laos. I fell in love with traditional crafts the cultures behind them. Today we still help support the crafts people of Fair Trade, cooperatives and cottage industry and are charmed by their artistry. When something is hand made you can feel the humanity behind it and we know our customers appreciate it as much as we do.
It is a pure reflection of the human spirit, the desire of all people to be creative and find art in life, that fuels my passion for Hands of the World.
