Grocery Outlet

I really like this Grocery Outlet. I went here for the first time 10 years ago when i lived in the Central District, and was disappointed to see expired food. as well as an overall unclean store.
EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED!!! I go there now, and its super clean, everything is organized well, and the staff is AWESOME!
this is a Grocery outlet in the Central District, so the employees do deal with a lot, when it comes to customer escalations, as well as disgruntled, or excusatory customers (people who are full of excuses, just so they can get what they want).
These employees solve escalations quickly and efficiently, and definitely in a way that bring a good light onto this company. I am impressed at the big turnaround this location has made, and now that i live in the area, I will continue to go here first, before i blow my money on especially staple items that are marked up a bit more everywhere else.

Dude! Grocery Outlets in Seattle are awesome! Had local microbrews and loads of organic options. We’re not in Spokane anymore.. .

People who work here are so awesome. Just nice, authentic and cool. Super prices. More class and personality than any other joint in town. Pretty darn good deals too I must say !!! Kind of feels like stopping into a neighborhood bar. Highly recommended!

Went in tonight and walked into a checkout that was already closed. The cashier goes, «I’m finna get outta here», and proceeds to point to her sign that says it’s closed. When I walk into an establishment for the public I expect proper English and not jibberish. Finna? It’s ‘trying to’, lady. Don’t worry, I’ll save you the embarrassment of not naming you. We can all guess what happened here.

The deals here are really good. So if you are a bargain shopper, don’t miss this place. You will ended up save more than you think

I am def a fan of ALL grocery outlets since I am a bargain shopper. This by far is my favorite GO! This location compared to other locations have a lot of organic products. Quite frankly, I think they have a lot of brands that Whole Foods carries but for a FRACTION of the cost!
The demographic might be a little «ghetto» (don’t shoot me for being honest) but I’ve always been treated with great customer service by the staff and the ghetto pratrons don’t really bother me.

The selection here is similar to other Grocery Outlets, but what makes this particular store awesome is the staff. Every time I go here, I leave in a better mood because of the cashiers. For example, last time I was there, the cashier that checked out my stuff told me that an item was on a buy-​one-​get-​one free sale and waited while I went and got my second (free) one. Unlike more expensive grocery stores (cough cough Safeway), the employees at GO can afford to actually shop at their own store on the $ they’re paid. This means they’e familiar with what they have and they all about what’s great & on sale on a personal level. I got a recommendation for the these awesome taco bowls last time I was there («You should get one, because they’re so good, I’m planning to buy up the rest when I get off tonight») that was exactly right — I just finished eating my second one! Nice people, cheap groceries — excellent.

Don’t get produce here, but you do can get enough frozen food to last a lifetime. Cheap wine and beer too! And cleaning supplies. And sometimes even cheap organic meat. I think they buy wholesale from suppliers on whatever isn’t selling well so they have different stuff all the time. But I got some amazing frozen tuna steaks here that really surprised me. Jason at the checkout drones that he’s «always fantastic» if you ask how he’s doing.

I’m a fan of my local Gross Out and this store is no different. Excellent selection (but arranged in the most wacky fashion) of organic products mixed in with the regular stuff. Often the best, cheapest place to buy organic frozen food and soy or rice milk. The stock varies from day to day, but you can certainly find a consistent selection of good cheeses and wine.

When prices are low, there has to be a reason.
There are some certified bargains available here but you have to be careful. In my bag of frozen blueberries, about one third of the berries were green, unripe. When I opened a $ 10.00 package of thick sliced bacon, I saw that after slice number 3, the slices were almost totally FAT. I have photos to prove it. The frozen sea food brands are not any you will see at QFC or Safeway. The product comes from China or some southeast Asian country where health, safety and production process standards are low or non-​existent. Also, labeling standards are lax in China etc. What they are calling Salmon could be a different species.
I would never buy any frozen food from Asia at this store !
Be glad of Big Government food safety regulation in this country! The cheap chicken parts most likely come from enormous chicken factories in the south where the meat is injected with antibiotics and hormones. If food safety is an issue for you, be sure to buy poultry that has not been adulterated. Same goes for eggs. The canned nuts are cheap because they are stale. The teas that I have tried are flavorless. But many other products are fine. I like the fresh mozzarella cheese which can be as much as half the original cost. Canned goods, soft drinks, pasta, rice, breads and cookies. cereals etc. Check the dates on vitamins, dietary supplements herbs and spices which will lose their flavor over time. Check expiration dates if available. Wines are hit and miss.

Great store

This place pretty much rules. Yeah, you gotta check the expiration dates, but that aside, the prices and variety of selection are wonderful. I’ve purchased lawn ornaments, body wash, garden tools, food, plants, soil, plant pots, winter caps, gloves, heaters, hammers — all for a good price! Plus the staff are amazingly friendly and community focused. This Groc-​out is the best!

This place is the bees knees – pure and simple. Awesome deals on everything, in particular frozen novelty items, household cleaning supplies and condiments/​dressings.
Will provide more insights soon but your buck goes a long way here – you can usually get Ben n Jerry’s/ haggendaz (sp?) for about two bucks a pint, Triscuits for half of what you’d pay at Safeway and just about anything else for super cheap…

Grocery Outlet, I love you. You have all of my favorite junk food for cheap, and I was even able to get some of my favorite pens for cheap as well. You weren’t as sketchy as stores in my native Atlanta, where I am always afraid of getting raped behind the floral display or some shit.
I think I need to move to Seattle.

Love the Grocery outlet! The staff here are fun and friendly, the music is great, and I can find a lot of specialty organic and vegan products for about ¹⁄₅^th of the cost they would usually be. Not always a great selection of fresh fruits and veggies, but they do have a farmer’s market in the parking lot during the summer so you can get the best fresh produce available.
The only downside is that if you are really craving something you may have to go to a regular grocery store. There are some things they keep stocked here fairly regularly, but you can’t expect too many staples since their influx changes all the time.

Loveeee this place. Of course check the dates to make sure you’re able to eat before the expiration date but the prices are unbeatable. It’s definitely a toss up of whether or not you’re going to be able to find what you need so I always do my shopping here first and follow-​up at TJ’s or Costco. Staff is always helpful.

I love the location of this grocery store. Unless a farmers’ market is taking place, parking is easy. Staff is great and friendly. I have, however, seen a rat running along the wall near the yogurt/​cheese section once. Other than that, I have no complaints. You may not see the same selection of items, but you just got to keep your eyes open for some great finds. My personal favourite is all kinds of breads from The Essential Baking Company!

Wow I am pleasantly surprised with the selection.
The prices are good, the expiration dates are still a bit out, and there were some fun random items I’ve never seen before.
I will be sure to come back here when I need items I usually get at Safeway.
There is a huge selection of beer and no name wine.
This store is cleaner than the Safeway down the street!

It’s just fun! Many reviewers have pointed out the rotating, unpredictable selection and rock-​bottom prices. I love walking through each aisle and carefully observing the options. I get lots of random awesome stuff here — battery LED lights for my tent, awesome frozen vegetarian meals, organic pretzels, hair accessories, potted plants… it’s almost like — what CAN’T you get here?

I’m so glad to see people embracing shopping at Grocery Outlet. Remember when people used to be embarassed about shopping at one? I never understood that. Although, I’m glad that they no longer offer «mystery flats» of canned goods that were missing labels.
What does your modern Grocery Outlet offer you? Here’s a few of my favorite things:
–Supplements and vitamins. So cheap, and they have the WEIRDEST things, supplements that sound like they came from Jupiter — both brand name and generic.
–Beer. Wine. Cheap. Random.
–Cereal bars (Lara Bars COME BACK!!)
–The toiletry aisle. I recently bought a giant bottle of lavender shampoo for $ 6. Like, real lavender, not a Suave-​like shampoo that mildly smells like lavender. Lotions, face stuff (BRAND NAME), hair care products, soap — Gah, I love opening every single bottle of stuff. If only you could do that in the beer aisle…
–Spices. You know, McCormick and stuff. All a $ 1. Giant Hungarian Paprika can? $ 2.
–Frozen fish/​frozen food. Postickers, burritos, Hoooot Pockets, mochi ice cream, and dinosaur-​shaped chicken nuggets for $ 5. In yo’ face Costco. FACE!
–Canned products — all kinds, and some random jarred things…
–AND when it’s food drive time, come HERE to stock up. Food is meant to be shared :)
There are other aisles filled with household items, candy, bread, but the above is what really interests me here. Although the cheese selection is pretty good, complete with prosciutto cheese trays even.
