Dander & Daughters Chem-Dry

I have used Dander and Daughters for at least 10 years for my kids’ rooms and basement. We have a dog that is not always the best and thus, our cleaning always includes the pet stain/​odor removal.
I am always shocked at how clean the carpets get and how great they smell after service.
I use Dander and Daughters twice a year and have always been happy with the professional and complete service. I will continue to use them for all the reasons above and for the fact that they are reasonably priced too!

Because we are so close to their main office, Mike offered to pick up and drop off an area rug I needed cleaned.
Very reasonably priced, convenient, prompt! And it looks great!

I initially called due to the high reviews on Unilocal.
Technician arrived on time and was quite nice. The carpet in the bedroom was cleaned in less than 30 minutes.
I was a bit confused as to why he wanted me to pay $ 20 cash for the deodorizer service instead of the total price for cleaning on my credit card. He finally agreed to let me put it on my card with a notation of a tip.
Upon bringing in cleaning equipment, I suggested he be careful on the laminate flooring. Not even a minute later, he accidentally broke off the molding/​trim around one of the steps.
He asked to use my restroom. He did not flush the toilet and he went thru my makeup bag on the sink. I noticed because my things had been moved around. I thought this was quite odd and creepy.
I called Mike the next day to give feedback regarding the service I received. He mentioned the reason the Technician wanted $ 20 in cash was because the van gas was low. He offered to pay for the damage to the flooring; however, was having a «hard time believing» me that his Technician would do such a thing in the bathroom.
At that point, I ended the phone call and decided to leave a Unilocal review. For my next apartment cleaning move, I am going to give another company my business.

Not all Chem Dry companies are the same; they are owners of franchises. I lost the phone number for one Chem Dry guy I liked, and so I called another one near me. I didn’t like the sound of them on the phone as didn’t feel I was getting trustworthy information about prices. So based on Unilocal reviews I called Mike with Dander and Daughters. He came right when he said he would and was very personable and did a GREAT job. I have light carpets and they look fantastic again and his price, which he told me before he started the work, was very reasonable. (No trying to «sell up,» which a different company did after I had moved all the furniture. I told them I didn’t appreciate «bait and switch» operations, and told them to leave.) Will definitely call Mike next time I need my carpets cleaned! Hassel-​free; a good, host job.

Even for places I truly love, it takes a lot for me to write a Unilocal review. However, I have to give Dander & Daughters the credit they deserve.
For the past 2.5 years, I’ve lived in a sub-​500 square foot apartment with wall-​to-​wall carpet and a long-​haired, prone-​to-​barfing cat. I spent the weekend moving and arranged to have my apartment cleaned by April Lane’s, who set me up with D&D for the carpet. I had minimal expectations for the stains coming out, so I was SO impressed when I got back to turn in my keys and the carpet looked brand new!
Thanks to D&D, I got my entire deposit back — so worth the time and energy saved by having professionals do the job!

As a pet owner (cats and dogs) in a home with wall-​to-​wall carpeting, I’m no stranger to carpet cleaning. Over the years, I’ve used various carpet cleaning services and never been happy. They come in, do a quick «clean» and are out in no time — and the carpet, while it looks and smells fresh for a day, quickly reverts back to its prior condition. Not so with these guys! Mike came out and spent a few HOURS on my carpets, paying special attention to areas where my pets had revisited. He did a fantastic job, was professional and friendly, and I will absolutely hire him again. Way to go!

I contacted Mike to schedule a carpet clean on a 20 year old carpet in a rental property. He gave me a quote based on my estimated square footage size and how many steps. I then had to cancel at the last minute and he was totally understanding. Finally done yesterday, got out some impossible stains and it looks amazing especially considering the age. He did not try to sell extra «finishes» and the amount came in as expected. Will definitely use them again. Thanks

I made an appointment with Mike on the phone last week and got him to come to clean our couch and rug. It was easy to go with him because he was really nice and professional, plus his price beat all the other guys (although I think there’s a promotion right now). So today, Mike comes right on time in the promised time window and quickly gets the work done. My dog was even going crazy and barking like mad and Mike was super nice about it. We even tried getting them together and he was really nice to my little guy. I will definitely call on Mike again if I need another cleaning and I would definitely recommend him for anyone in the area!

I have never had a carpet cleaning before, so because I have NOTHING to compare this to I am giving Dander and Daughters a 4 out of 5
Mike was extremely easy to work with, gave me a deal, and for the amount of dirt/​dog hair/​lived in-​ness of my carpet, I think they turned out wonderfully!!!
I would highly recommend Mike and Dander and Daughters!
Also, I just got a follow voice mail/​call from Mike (about an hour after I posted) asking if I had any questions or concerns– since I wasn’t there to see the process.

He always is punctual and my carpets are super clean after he visits!
Mike has great integrity and is just a darn nice guy. Whether it’s him personally cleaning the carpet or one of his well trained staff, they always do a through job and his prices are very fair. He often gives a discount for loyal customers.

I found these guys on Unilocal and decided to take a chance based on the reviews.
Here’s a rundown of what they rated five stars in my opinion:
* The owner answered the phone promptly and was very courteous
* Scheduling was quick and easy
* He arrived on time
* Spent a good amount of time on the area I needed cleaned and was very thorough
* Did NOT try to upsell me on «special stain removers» etc.
* He was honest and said if he couldn’t get the stain out with regular cleaning than it was set.
* The stains came out!
* He was professional, nice, and thorough
* It has been a week now since the carpet was cleaned and it still looks really great.
I had tried 2 – 3 other carpet cleaning companies over the years-​mostly because I had an online special or coupon and they don’t even compare to this company. They were all in and out too quickly and none of the stains came out-​the carpet looked dingy after it dried.

Issue: Stepped in an awful sludge/​grease-​like substance on the way to my car after work. Didn’t realize it until after getting into my car (car mat ruined…) and walking through the common area carpeted hallways of our 4-​plex condo. Fortunately we don’t wear shoes past the front door or things would have been much worse.
Attempted solution: I looked online and found a few ways to clean/​clean grease/​oil from carpets but it seemed like too much of an ordeal for the impacted area. I attempted to do so on my shoe and that was a disaster. Shoes went into trash and onto Plan B.
Actual solution: Our neighbor said the HOA for our building used Dander & Daughter Chem Dry in the past. I called them up, spoke to Mike, and quickly learned he was the one who had cleaned the very same common area hallways in the past. He gave me a quote that I found hard to believe (was expecting it to cost way more) and I made an appointment on a day of my choice.
Mike showed up a tad early (bonus points for punctuality) and was polite, prepared and ready to go. I offered to move things but he said not to worry about it. A couple hours later, the estimated time, Mike was done. The end cost was exactly the same as the quote, which I expected since he knew our building from a previous job.
Most importantly, the carpets look amazing! Better than we’ve ever seen them living here. And the hallways have a pleasant citrus scent!

Cons: I wanted a regular carpet cleaning with spot cleaning where red wine had been spilled and where my dog had puked. I’ve had stains like this cleaned before with no issue by other companies, but I was told that these were permanent stains by this company. Not sure what stains they can get out then? The carpet looked cleaned after he left, but once the carpet dried the stains were still visible. I went after them with some carpet cleaner I bought on Amazon and it’s already much better.
Another issue, the guy totally dinged my wall up. I noticed a couple of red dings in the wall that hadn’t been there that morning and pointed them out. The guy told me it couldn’t have been him since he doesn’t have anything red. I walked downstairs and saw his bright red vacuum. I pointed this out when I was paying and he got really argumentative with me. Ending up knocking $ 10 off the price, but I wouldn’t use this company again.

I felt bad initiating a quote for carpet cleaning of 32 stairs and 6 stairway landings… no carpet cleaner wants to hear «hey, I have a TON of stairs that need cleaning». I was provided a quote and it was dead-​on to the final value at the end of the service.
Employee arrived on-​time and began work immediately. He vacuumed all the stairs and hallways and then began the carpet cleaning. Everything was done perfectly and he even removed a very large stain in one of my rooms. The carpet looked brand new after he left and I felt so bad that the poor fella was covered in sweat — it was a huge job and he did a very thorough job in less than 3 hours.
The carpet smelled new and the entire house looked brighter and cleaner.
I’ll use this company again, for sure.

Used Dander and Daughters last year and thought the gentleman they sent did an average job. The main carpeted areas were cleaned reasonbly well but the edges were not adequately cleaned so we had him repeat the process. Felt like we had to look over his shoulder a bit too much to make sure the job was done properly. Carpet drying time was failry long (two days). Probably with the hauling of equipment, he also heavily nicked a corner of our wall leading to the staircase and did not mention it. When I brought it up, he suggested that maybe it was already there and I assured him that it was not so he offered to patch and paint the nick using our spackle and paint and painting equipment. Kind of a waste of time overall with only mediocre carpet cleaning in the end. Hopefully this was just a bad day and not their «A» team.

We have used Dander and Daughters multiple times over the years, but thinking we were getting new carpets put in, we held off having them cleaned again for 2 years. With 2 kids, a large labrador and construction project — our carpets were filthy!
They came in and spent nearly 2 hours working on our carpet and got out everything — the large area that the dog tends to hang out in — is unbelievably clean. They did an amazing job and were right on time and extremely cost efficient! I would (and have) recommend them to anyone.
