Sheila Cox is the only person that has cut my hair since 1992! Believe me, I have been through my share of styles in 22 years, and even had to start coloring my hair after the birth of my third child left my hair a lovely hue reminiscent of dirty dish water. She is amazing. No matter what picture I arrive with, she has been able to duplicate it. The BEST compliment I can give her is to explain that I have brought her dozens of clients. I get compliments on my hairstyle all the time, and women frequently come up to me randomly at the grocery store or on the street with some version of «I love your haircut, it’s exactly what I have been wanting, can I ask who cuts your hair?» It has gotten to the point that I always make sure to grab a pile of her business cards to keep in my wallet. It’s a lot easier to just hand one over, then fumble through my phone to find her contact info. Through the years, I have referred friends(and strangers) with all types of hair, and it seems that Ms. Cox can handle anything as they all have left feeling happy and looking beautiful. The other amazing thing is, get a GREAT cut, by someone that is truly talented and can be trusted to LISTEN to you and what YOU want, for a REALLY reasonable price. Because I get my hair colored, along with the cut these days, I don’t know how much just a cut costs, but it is MUCH less than a lot of other places, and you are NOT sacrificing talent, skill, or experience for that lower price tag. The place is a bit hidden –On Cherry between 1st and 2nd on the South side, set back from the street a bit. Look for the Mystery book shop, and you are close, just head behind the metal gate/bars that run along the sidewalk, and you will find it. They accept walk-ins, do both men and women and have a tanning bed(if there is anyone out there that still does that, NOT that I am judging, just sayin.:)

Anyone who knows me, knows my hair grows way too fast and I have way to many cowlicks. It drives me mad!(No I don’t have cow disease) I was really annoyed today because I was going to have to go up to Capital hill to get a hair cut. I usually go to Rudy’s, but really didn’t want to because it was raining and I was tired. I noticed this little shop in the building right next to my apt and just on a chance, stopped in to ask how much it was. Boy am I glad I did! It beat every hair place on price I’ve been too and I’m constantly complaining about cost since I usually just do a buzz and trim! I hate paying 25 – 40 bucks for that! It was empty and Stacy was the only one in. She was getting ready to close, but she was so friendly and even told me about a December deal going on for guys, which was even better! We got to talking throughout the whole cut, which probably made it take longer, but I didn’t care because she was amazingly fun, friendly and cheerful! I don’t think I’ve ever really talked to a barber or stylist as much or as freely as I did with her and by the time it was all over, I was already sure I would be coming back to see her. So if you are in the Pioneer square area, looking for a good cut, great price and a friendly, talkative person to do it; go see Stacy!!!

We all know how important a good stylist is, right? You’ll never find a better one that Sheila Cox here at Classical Cuts Too. She’s been cutting my hair pretty much since my hair needed cutting and I’m 28 now. She’s also been cutting my mother’s hair for, well, probably longer than I’ve been alive. I’m admittedly horrid at describing what I want done with my hair but somehow she always figures it out and I get precisely what I want. And her prices remain steady and reasonable — well extremely reasonable — for the impeccable quality.

Stacy is so nice and the prices are very reasonable for a downtown shop.
