Chroma Salon and Spa

I started coming to Chroma a couple of years ago and Jessica was my stylist. She was good but after she left, I transferred over to Alexandra who is my wife’s stylist. Alexandra is fantastic. She is personable and listens well. I“ve had many compliments on my cuts since she took over. I love the complimentary touch ups every few weeks. I highly recommend Chroma and in particular Alexandra!

Love this place! First of all, you get a little more than a haircut, which is appreciated considering the going rate these days. A little neck massage with aromatherapy oils. An extended shampoo. Unlimited (delicious!) herbal tea and water. It was a really relaxing experience. And my cut with Alexandra was awesome. I wanted something low maintenance, no blowdry even needed (new mom). She did a fantastic job! That was a month ago and I’m still so pleased.

I’ve always bought Aveda products from Chroma since they are a block from my house. The place always looks great and is located in a cute little craftsman house nestled between QA Books and El Diablo.
Today, I was bummed because I couldn’t get in to see my regular stylist at another salon. So, I called up Chroma, thinking they wouldn’t have anything last minute. But they did!
Leslie is my new go-​to hair gal here on QA. I haven’t been treated so such a wonderful massage and scalp massage in ages! She also is warm, friendly, and the conversation flowed effortlessly. I have Betty bangs and Leslie not only did them to perfection, she also created lovely waves and layers to give my hair an extra oomph! I left feeling wonderful. Actually, I felt pretty and I’ve been feeling super frumpy lately.
The service I received from start to finish (including my initial phone call) was top notch!
I am thrilled to have a go-​to stylist on the hill. Thank you!

Alexandra has been my stylist for the last two years and I’m glad I followed her here to Chroma! She’s personable and great at what she does. love how excited she gets when talking about new classes she’s taken or techniques she’s learned. This is the type of salon you’ll want to come to. Great parking, great coffee next door, and all the stylists have great team work.

Today I had my first appointment with master stylist Luis and I highly recommend him! Luis is the kind of stylist you dream of meeting. He has a sparkling personality, he’s very professional and he is an absolute genius. Luis is the type of stylist you can trust to give you the perfect haircut, because he’s very intuitive and he obviously cares about precision and detail. He was able to give me a cut with very little guidance that is perfect for my lifestyle and «difficult» hair type. He gave me exactly the type of classic bob that I was hoping to get. From now on, I will be visiting Luis regularly. Thank you so much for being amazing at what you do, Luis! I’m a very happy customer.

I followed Alida here from her previous salon, and love the new location! A very cute old house that’s been remodeled. The salon is very clean, smells lovely, and best of all Alida did an amazing job with my hair again! Wonderful and highly recommended!

Today I got a cut and a color from their newest stylist, Alida. She was absolutely amazing! I showed her my inspiration picture for the color which was a copper ombré and she totally nailed it! It looks exactly how I wanted it! For the cut I mostly wanted a trim but I was going back and forth about getting bangs. She suggested I do a swoop sort of bang so I can do a few different things with them. That was an excellent idea and my hair looks so great! I have already had so many compliments. Not only did she do a great job on my hair but she gave me the most relaxing hand massage. I would definitely reccomend going to see her for your next visit!

Dru Osler is the best! My daughter, Sara, is a big fan as well, as are many friends. I have been his client for 5 years and I have never left an appointment with him disappointed. I can depend on him for a perfect cut, style and color, always receiving compliments on how great my hair looks!

I was in hair purgatory after a bad color at another salon and had a second salon attempt to fix. Total of $ 450 later, I left it alone for a few months until yesterday when I realized how awful it looked. I was getting ready to start a new job so I definitely needed a fix. Jessica to the rescue! I called at 10:05 and she had an opening at 10:30. I hurried up the hill and was pleasantly greeted by Jessica who offered me tea or water. I told her my hair horror story, and showed her the picture of what I was looking for. She really asked a lot of questions during the consultation to make sure we both had the same vision. Away she went to painting balayage highlights through my hair. We had some fun conversations too!!! It was a 3 hour service and when I saw the results, I was soooooo thrilled! I FINALLY got the look I have been trying to achieve all year! The pricing for the service was incredibly reasonable. I feel like a rock star! Can’t wait to see her again for my next service although I am loving my locks so much right now, I am gonna keep this look for a while. Can’t recommend enough. Merci!

I went to see Tina this week to get waxed and had the BEST experience! I chose Chroma because of convenience and I’m glad that I did! Not only was she extremely knowledgable and did an amazing job — but she was personable, friendly, and gentle. I would recommend anyone to go and see her!

Oh happy day! I had a great consult, cut and color with Rachel today. She listened to my «hair history», input, hopes and dreams for what I was looking for. Then she provided an assessment, offered some suggestions and we arrived at a plan. She updated my color and my style and I left feeling really good about myself and Chroma.
The location is lovely, a small converted house that is light filled and cheerful. Right next to a great coffee shop if you need to catch a snack or drink beforehand or after and a lovely little book shop if you want to pick up something to read while you process.
This location offers spa services and an aesthetician as well, though I haven’t had a chance to use these services yet. I will definitely be back!

Service was excellent. I was sat right away and offered tea. Rachel did an excellent job on my hair. Color was perfect and style was exactly what I wanted. The price was reasonable for the high quality of work. I will be back.

Truly a great first experience at Chroma Salon. I booked a last minute appointment for a deep conditioning treatment and was impressed from start to finish. Great customer service, welcoming staff and professional atmosphere. Truly went above and beyond. I will definitely be returning!

Artisinal hair!

I came into this location for the first time and saw Lisa a few days ago. She gave me a cut and partial highlight, and exceeded my expectations! Lisa was very relaxed and friendly and not overly talkative. I mean come on, sometimes I just want to get a haircut without having to use my vocal cords the whole time!:) She was great and did a fantastic job. I will def be back Lisa!

I recently got a hair cut from Lisa. It was a pleasure chatting with her, she patiently listened to me until she fully understood what I wanted to do with my hair. The atmosphere was lovely, and a couple days later, after washing my hair and letting it air dry, it is still laying REALLY nicely. I would highly recommend her!

I’ve been to see Jessica at Chroma twice now. The first time was for a trim and basic restyle on my long, straight hair. She was super nice, and friendly. She listened and then translated it in to haircut terms well. I felt confident in using her to cut off my hair (to be donated) when the time came. I just got back from that big «chop» which resulted in almost 15 inches of hair to now be in a padded envelope on its way to Locks of Love. Jessica was once again so wonderful. She listened, looked at pictures of styles I liked, made recommendations based on those, my hair, and the level of «work» I want to put in to my hair on a regular basis. We debated bangs and she said let’s get the rest of the cut done and then we can leave it or add them. At the end of the already longer than normal appointment (she spent almost 1.5 hrs total with me!) I decided I did want bangs, so she took even more time to create that look for me. She also said that with such a drastic cut, if in the next few days or few weeks I decide I want something changed a little bit (bangs shorter, more bangs, something isn’t lying right), to just come on in and she’d get it done no charge. I mean wow! I’m super happy with the cut and with my experience. If I ever leave Seattle, I’m kidnapping her :).
I know she also does men’s hair, as a poor guy was waiting for me to finish up (sorry, man!).
They also serve really delicious hot tea.

I am super happy to have found a salon that is open on Mondays. Thank goodness! my experience at Chroma Salon was wonderful.
Upon arrival, I was pleasantly greeted by the owner (I have seemed to have forgotten his name). It was nice to have finally found a salon where they don’t just brush you off once you’ve been checked in.
Once I was in Jessica’s seat, she took the time to ask me what I wanted with my haircut– I told her that I just needed my bob reshaped and whatnot. I am not going to lie, I am always hesitant when I get my haircut, because not many hairstylists in Seattle have the patience to deal with cutting my thick Asian hair– even if it is just a trim, it’s a long process to get it all cut (haha). Jessica was super friendly and professional. It was refreshing to have someone who took the time to carefully cut my hair and thin it out. She made sure that every layer of my unruly hair was attended to, and that is something that I really appreciate. I also found out that there are complementary bang trims in between cuts– which is also awesome since my hair grows so quickly.
Nonetheless, I had a great/​wonderful experience at Chroma and I will happily come back.

I called Chroma salon last Monday and was lucky to get a haircut appointment with Jessica for late afternoon. I was a little frazzled because I had just colored my hair too dark myself and really needed a good haircut to help me feel better about the whole thing. I was a bit nervous since I had never been there before but the receptionist was really nice and after talking with Jessica for a bit I was feeling a lot more relaxed she was very professional and quite friendly at the same time. She took about 3 – 4 inches off (all the damaged ends) and even showed me how I can get my bangs to stay put (you know how they get) I’m glad I found a quality go to salon in a nearby neighborhood :)

I had my first haircut from Louis today and I had a great experience in every way. He is skilled and very experienced at what he does: my hair looks fabulous. I have long hair and he did not cut too much length off. The salon has a pleasant atmosphere, Aveda products (excellent quality line of product for hair, skin, color, face) and a polite receptionist. I will definitely be a returning client of Louis at Chroma on Queen Anne.
