History

Established in 2010.

Dr Riolo obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan. Dr Riolo then earned both a Specialty Certificate and a Masters of Science degree in Orthodontics from University of Detroit Mercy. Upon completion of his specialty training he decided to continue his education at the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health, where he received a PhD in Epidemiology. After graduation Dr Riolo completed the requirements for certification as a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and re-​certified in 2009.

Dr Bayirli graduated with a degree in orthodontics and a PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Michigan. Dr Bayirli taught full time at the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry as an Associate Professor in the department of Orthodontics and currently teaches at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in the department of Orthodontics.

Dr. Christopher Riolo obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He completed his orthodontic training and received his Speciality Certificate in Orthodontics and Masters of Science degree at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Dr. Riolo also has a PhD in Epidemiology from the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan. Dr Riolo currently teaches in the orthodontic department at the University of Washington as an affiliate assistant professor.

Dr Riolo and his wife Burcu have two girls Mina and Banu and 5 and 3 years respectively. Dr Riolo believes that the knowledge necessary to create beautiful smiles is gained through a combination of education, practical experience, and dedication to lifelong learning. Dr Riolo is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

I didn’t end up going here for braces because I found a place closer to my house but during my initial consultation it was great for a variety of reasons:
1. Walking distance from a lot of places in SLU/​Downtown/​Belltown
2. Chris Riolo knows what he’s doing and explained to me what we would do to my teeth. They’re my teeth so I want to know what’s going to happen!
3. They gave me the choice of traditional braces, gold (traditional) braces, or ceramic braces all for the same price.
4. They offer Propel technology here (look it up but it can potentially reduce your treatment time).
5. All the staff were nice, friendly and accommodating.
6. Reasonable prices for Seattle.
If I lived a little closer I would not hesitate to make him my Orthodontist.

I was looking for an orthodontist to consult on Invisalign options, as I’m new to the Seattle area. I came across Dr. Riolo after reading Unilocal reviews and figured I’d give his office a shot. I’ve had braces twice before and headgear once, as a child, and have a pretty bad crossbite. I told him that I was hoping to get my front teeth straightened out a bit but didn’t have much hope for ever fixing my crossbite. He said he’d see «what we could do» about fixing the crossbite gap.
Dr. Riolo has been nothing but amazing right from the start. My invisalign checkups are ten minutes from start to finish (unless I have more questions), I never have to wait when I arrive for my appointment, the front office staff are incredibly kind and funny, and he has a great bedside manner! He’s very easy to talk to and clearly very intelligent, so I feel like I’m able to interface with him a lot better than any orthodontist I’ve had previously.
Not only that, but I can actually feel my crossbite closing — I can bite down much better than I’ve ever been able to before! My teeth are getting super straight and I no longer feel self-​conscious about smiling. I didn’t even realize I had jaw problems at all until they started going away (no more popping/​jaw locking) — I had completely given up on having straight teeth, but honestly with the treatment I’ve gotten at Dr. Riolo’s office I’m starting to feel like that might be a possibility. :)

I love Dr Riolo. He’ s just cool. Has a great chairside manner and makes you laugh while he makes you very comfortable. He offers options and is very clear when explaining your treatment. He is affordable. He is easy going and very schedule flexible. You can tell he puts his patients first. The staff is equally wonderful! I wish he was my «regular» dentist! I would highly recommend him to anyone– no matter where you’re coming from. I saw him for Invisalign and I lived an hour and 15 mins from his office one way!

I’m a little more than ½ way through my treatment and it’s been a wonderful experience! I had another consultation before I came to him and the difference was like night and day. I was so impressed that I pretty much made up my mind on the spot.
If you are looking for non-​traditional braces such as incognito, he is the best there is. Everyone at the office makes it a point to take care of the patient first, from scheduling to procedures and everything in between.
I am looking forward to the day when I can finally remove my braces but I will miss seeing everyone on a regular basis.

I personally haven’t seen Dr. Riolo, but I did meet his wife and his assistant (I apologize for forgetting your names!), and they were absolutely wonderful. My boyfriend’s dog annoyingly ate my retainers. I only recently got my braces off, and my treatment was in California, so I couldn’t go back to my orthodontist to get new braces. I was really panicking about replacing my retainers since I had no sick hours to use (just got employed) and most places were not open on weekends or evenings. This office, however, was very accommodating; they were willing to book evening slots for me or a weekend slot. However, since their office was so close to my work building, I was easily able to just swing by during lunch ON THE SAME DAY I CALLED THEM ABOUT MY RETAINERS. The assistant knew that getting my retainers replaced ASAP was important, so they let me go in on the same day! They were efficient and very friendly, and I would definitely recommend this office!

Dr. Riolo is a great option for adult orthodontics in Seattle. He has another practice north of town where he sees kids. His downtown office isn’t ALL adults, but it’s most of the clientele, which is great if you are also an adult! His chairside manner is fantastic and all of his employees are nice and professional. He has late hours on certain days, should you need to come in late because of work or something like that. He’s a skilled orthodontist, and he’s honest with his patients. I actually trust him more than I trust my dentist. I checked out a few different orthodontists when I was first considering treatment, and went with Dr. Riolo because of his credentials and because he seemed like someone I wouldn’t mind seeing once a month for a few years! It didn’t hurt that his prices were very reasonable.
He’s easy to reach if you have questions because he always has his Blackberry on him, and he’ll get back to you personally. I’m surprised there aren’t any reviews yet; I guess he’s just so laid back and easy to work with that people don’t even think about it once they’re out of his office! He’s rad.
