Before and After Personal Organizing

Meg is terrific! Our unfinished basement is for storage, which means it has slowly accumulated lots of useful AND not-​so-​useful items, things we will use in the future AND things we will never need again. It’s not horrible, but every time I go to organize it and clear things out I find myself overwhelmed and walking right back upstairs. I felt funny hiring an organizer and paying for something I should be able to accomplish on my own. Finally I realized I really did need someone (other than my spouse!) to walk me through it and be by my side, making all the small decisions of what to do with each item. Meg was perfect. Friendly and relaxed, yet she kept us focused on the task and moving forward. And at the end of the day she took all the give-​away items with her! She knows where to donate items so they go where they are most needed. This helped me let go of things, knowing they would be used by someone else who could benefit from them. We made a dent, and I plan on having her come for round two sometime soon. For a thrifty person like myself, that means a lot. This was money well spent, and now I have my «go-​to» favorite organizer!

I worked with Meg a little over two years ago, when she helped me pack up our office (which had a TON of books, nicknacks, etc.) for a move. She was such a lifesaver. I just hadn’t anticipated how much work it’d be to tackle that room and another closet near by, and had totally run out of time. Without her we would have missed our move date for sure. Pros about working with Meg:
1.) Timely
2.) Cost Competitive (bid out to a few people and she was not rock bottom but lower end)
3.) Very thorough and organized (did a great job ordering how things were packed and then labeling everything efficiently)
4.) Non intrusive (she came in, did the work, and was out within a day and a half)
I’d absolutely hire her again and recommend her for anyone who needs help making sense of some clutter in their home!

Four months ago, I hired Meg to help me regain control over the clutter in my home. Over the years, piles of things had migrated to the various counters and tables, and the overflow areas in the basement were stuffed. Though for some time I had thought of myself as a mild packrat, it reached a point where I had to admit I needed help. That’s what led me to re-​hire Meg, who had previously helped me with some smaller projects. I knew her to be a highly energized and motivated personal organizer, and very understanding about these kinds of situations.
Though I felt embarrassed at first, I quickly developed a comfort level working with Meg. She let me say what I needed to about the various trouble spots, and then we got down to work, addressing each area one by one, clearing and cleaning, and developing new organizational systems along the way. After one long day and a couple of 3-​hour sessions, I was seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Then we planned out the rest, and spent a couple of months working two nights a week, sometimes together and sometimes with Meg working at my direction. And we got it done, organizing every room in the house, both upstairs and downstairs.
Net result is that I’m feeling more in control of my home than I’ve felt for years. Also — as an aside — Meg said it would often be fun getting the work done, and to my surprise, she was right! I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Meg again, though am hoping to maintain the systems we set up for the foreseeable future!

I had recently moved from a storage unit in to a 3 bedroom house, and it all looked like the movers had just put boxes on top of boxes, and there was no rhyme or reason to it. Bedroom stuff in the dining room, stuff that needed to be organized for a garage sale, pots & pans in the upstairs bedroom, you name it. I’ve known Meg personally for some time, and have known her to be a very responsible and accountable person. I’ve watched her build this business up from more than just the ground, but from a dream. I asked if I could contract her for the job of helping me make sense of the mess I had, and we decided we could work together (she will interview you as much as you interview her, to ensure that the results are what you were expecting!) and we decided we could work together.
The results were, in a word: amazing. She worked tirelessly on the project (*I* was the one who had to call the days short because I ran out of steam!) and was very creative (but methodical and logical) in the solutions. Truly a place for everything, and everything in it’s place. She may drive you nuts with the «yes/​no» decisions, but they really do work! I recently moved again, and am getting ready to call her again because the results before were so amazing!
