Just left be beba restaurant and ordered a Ruben and I ask who puts thick wasabi on a sandwich without if the customer would like his mouth to burn the entire time? I tried to give them a break from all the bad reviews. But I guess I’ll be joining the rest of the nay — sayers and take my business elsewhere.

Really bad. Asked for express breakfast and got cold potatoes, fried eggs that were way overdone and generally rude service. Spend your money elsewhere.

Sandwich is always good, fresh and made quickly. I always get the half sandwich with ceasar salad. Portions are good size, plenty of food.

What a lousy sandwich. Not only was it wrong, remnants of what I didn’t want were still on the sandwich when it came back. The pastrami was all fat. And they don’t take AmEx. $ 11 for a bad sandwich, chips, and a drink.

I was really unimpressed with this place, and given the low lunch traffic compared to neighboring establishments, others agree with me. The Reuben sandwich I had was heated pastrami on rye bread with sauerkraut and dijon mustard — hardly standard(usually, you’d get Thousand Island dressing), but still OK. It was perfectly edible, but nothing special. When I was in the store at lunchtime, I was the only customer there … and one of the owners(or employees) was unpacking boxes … and that seemed more important than my customer experience. That’s not great, but it’s not my real gripe either. The sandwich was lackluster. I don’t plan to go back.

Beba’s is quick, quiet and low key. I came in to get a basic sandwich and that’s what I got. They have 5 maybe 6 different types of bread, which are the same types that you can get from your local grocer plus your standard selection of deli meats and cheeses. The sandwich is not fancy, it’s basically something you can make at home, so if that’s what you’re looking for, then this is it. I got a Roast Beef sandwich, a bottle of Mexican Coke, and a bag of chips all for $ 10.06. Was I satisfied? Yup, you betcha! It was quick, low key, convenient(which is essentially what you’re paying for) the ladies behind the counter were friendly, the girl at the register was really pretty, so from a value perspective it worked for me. If you’re looking for fancy artisan bread, you might want to check somewhere else. For me, I’ll definitely eat here again.

Seriously? What the hell was that?! Saddest looking sandwich with the cheapest bread ive ever seen. It was so bad it was actually kind of funny but I could hear my wallet crying for its $ 9.00 back. I cant believe they serve food like this with a straight face and I wonder how they stay in business. I had a good laugh and wont be back.

I should have taken the other reviews to heart as they were spot on. A nuked potato cut into wedges. Bland scrambled eggs that are rubbery. Over cooked bacon, but at least the toast and jam wasn’t bad. Of course it wasn’t good either. Avoid this place at all cost. Not really sure how this business survives. It’s an abomination to decent food everywhere.

I ate lunch at Beba’s opting for a turkey sandwich and drink and I have to agree with everyone else, for a buck or two more I can get a better sandwich somewhere else. The only upside is the location, as it’s the closest food option around once you get down on 1st that far. I don’t plan on returning as the bread I received on my sandwich was stale. It was the kind of meal that I regreted spending my money on.

The selection and convenience(for me) is nice at this little spot. The atmosphere is fine and clean. The sandwiches are nothing to brag about, neither is the soup or salad. The food isnt more than what I make at home and the flavor is low. To me, for a dollor more and a block further there are much better places to dine both for lunch and breakfast.

I have had the pleasure of eating here a couple of times. The service is always fast and with a smile. The sandwiches are great and very near where I work. Prices are just a little high for what I would generally pay but that can be expected downtown.

The saying«You get what you pay for» really comes in handy with this place. They have a decent selection but everything I have had so far has been mediocre. The first time I went I have a breakfast croissant which was eggs, bacon and cheese. The bacon was WAY overcooked and they microwaved the croissant making it hard as a rock within a few short minutes. I decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt and try it again. This time I ordered the breakfast potatoes which says«homestyle» potatoes which apparently means a baked potato cut in quarters. They put some weird seasoning on it and half-assed the toppings. It’s also a good thing I am not a slug because the potatoes were salty as all hell!!! Even though it’s convenient, I don’t foresee myself going back to this place.

Location: On 1st Ave, next to Cowgirls Inc., in Merrill Place. The best thing about this deli is the Breakfast Express. You get potatoes, eggs, toast, and bacon for a great price. I remember when we had the big winter storm in 2008 the lady at the counter showed up for work. I was shocked. That’s dedication because the roads weren’t salted and many buses weren’t operating.

Great selection, fast service, reasonable prices. A go-to staple for lunch and breakfast. No bigger complement could be paid, really.

ugh, I just ate the worst Reuben ever. I’m always excited when a deli has a reuben on the menu so I can taste their version. I’m pretty sure the lady grabbed some dry corned beef, sauerkraut, and cheese… tossed it all on a paper towel, and threw it in the microwave. Then plopped it on the bread and I’ve got myself a sandwich. Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be going back to try anything else.

I usually stop in here on the mornings that I actually go to the office since it is right across the street. There is a location closer to me(actually right across the street) but for some reason I always gravitate towards the Pioneer Square location. I have a routine that consists of one croissant and a Glaceau Energy water. I pick out a croissant and the woman asks if I want it microwaved and places the item in a bag and does just that when I say«yes please»(now she does this by default since I am in at least 2 times each week). I have noticed that some of the croissants look like they have been out since the previous morning. The trick here is that you have to point out which one you want. It may seem weird but I want the freshest croissant possible. One time I made the mistake of asking for a croissant and turning to grab my water and ended up with what seemed like a bag of concrete. My most memorable experience here was the morning that a homeless man(possibly with tourette’s syndrome) started following me from inside the establishment while yelling at me that I was a «stupid bottle bag fuck-boy». He started following me and yelling this as if his mental tonearm and stylus were stuck due to a rogue dust particle in the groove of his vinyl. When I walked into my building on King Street he was well past the gym on the corner of 1st and King still yelling«stupid bottle bag fuck-boy». 100% true story

I was happy to find another Beba’s close to my office. I used to frequent the one on 4th Ave when I worked in the building. So far the service and quality seems to be consistent with that location. Service perhaps even a bit better as I didn’t have to wait at all. Downtown Brown = YUM! Pricey, at over 7 bucks for a whole sandwich and a bag o’ chips, but this is average for the area.

Your basic sandwich shop deli that seem to have gone away. You know square loaves of bread and lots of good fresh items on top. Nice list or have them make it how you like it. Super quick, decent priced. Much better than Subway unless you have to have sub shaped bread.
