We had a great stay here. We were warmly welcomed by all staff members. We brought our therapy dog Misty. She was very welcomed as well. They even gave her a treat! Our room was clean and modern. The bathroom was well lit with a lot of mirrors and had a large walk in shower. We stayed in a very large room with two queen beds, a dry bar, refrigerator and long desk for office use. There was a huge walk in closet that could have fit a twin bed! We didn’t go to the Loft Bar but it looked warm and inviting. As well as the connected restaurant Lola. Yummy smells throughout the lobby. The lobby had many couches and a huge fireplace. Oh! And the valet staff was quick and energetic. I’m sure we’ll be back as this was a quick, close to home, «staycation» Thank you Hotel Andra.

Hidden gem within the Hotel Andra. Comfortable bar stools, attentive staff, and a cozy fireplace make for a great place for a cocktail, especially on a rainy day. We’ve been here a handful of times and have always had a good experience. On one occasion the bartender even gave us a quick tour of the cooking studio and let my husband sample an aquavit since that’s their specialty. My only minor complaint recently was that the bartender on 12÷30÷15 didn’t know what a Martinez cocktail was and when he said he could try and make one, it wasn’t very good. Our previous bartenders at Andra Loft were a bit more knowledgeable about classic cocktails so I was surprised that he didn’t know how to make this drink.

This place isn’t even listed on Tom Douglas’ website so what does that tell you? It’s his sloppiest effort yet– that’s what it tells you. I tried the Swedish punch and my friend had my friend had the aquavit and KVG cocktail. The Swedish punch and KVG were good but we both tasted and didn’t understand the aquavit. It tasted like herby water, nothing else. We also ordered a cucumber salad with shaved horseradish, tomatoes, crème fraîche, tiny turnip slices, roe and other veggies. It was a small plate and quite small and when we first got it, we couldn’t find any roe. We asked and it turned out they forgot the roe. He offered to bring that and the crème fraîche over, which we accepted. The bartender came back with…8 pieces of roe. 8 single pieces on dots of crème on a plate… what? As my friend pointed out, that wasn’t even worth it. The shaved horseradish was unique but otherwise, there wasn’t anything to the salad. Small plates, small menu, not-so-small prices and quite sloppy. This comes across as a total throwaway created just for Hot Stove Society. We were disappointed.

Delicious cocktails and cured fish. Try the gravlax or the cured fish plate! If you’ve got a cooking class at the Hot Stove Society, stop in for a drink and a bite to eat beforehand.
