Mike’s Concrete

Mike’s Concrete is awesome! I recently used Mike for a new patio /​shed pad pour. Mike quoted it on a Saturday (Very Competitive) and poured it the following Tuesday morning. Mike was always on-​time and his attention to detail is crisp. Mike does not want his work to crack and will advise you accordingly. I wish more contractors were like Mike!

Mike just re-​did our entry way and build a brand-​new patio. He and his team did an excellent job, were super clean at the end of each day and delivered an outstanding product — on budget. The design we came up with together fits the style of house perfectly and I’m sure we’ll enjoy it for many years to come. I can highly recommend Mike.

I was meeting with a new client today and as we walked her site we arrived at concrete steps, newly completed. My client pointed out the nicks and imperfections and said the concrete contractor was going to patch them. I bite my tongue hard. One does not patch concrete. It is either done correctly the first time or forever those «patched spots» will age differently and soon fail (post warrantee).
I suppose we in general think concrete, yep, sidewalk, steps, footings, retaining walls … how difficult can that be? Walk any neighborhood and look carefully. There is good concrete work and there is a lot of bad. In my role as owner, landscape designer and project manager (Terra Design), I do not tolerate and cannot afford bad concrete. If it goes in wrong, there is only one solution and it starts with a jack-​hammer. Over my 23 years, I have insisted that many pours were removed and repoured… a truly painful experience.
What I, as a professional, appreciate about Mike Meehan is that he is a craftsman, knows concrete, and cares that each job is perfect (and I am demanding). He asks the right questions, thinks ahead in the process and discusses potential problems up front. Mike does concrete for me on 4 – 5 projects a year and it is always spot on. And he is very fairly priced, dependable and a pleasure to work with. I cannot recommend Mike’s Concrete enough.

Mike redid our driveway and sections of the sidewalk. It’s a beautiful professional job. He knew how to get the right permits, showed up on time, cleaned up at the end of each day, and dealt well with a large curbside tree. I would hire him again for any concrete work
