Knowing it was part of mckeowns restaurant, we were skeptical. Didn’t care for that place. But we decided to try it. Very pleasantly surprised. Caprese salad was delicious. Corned beef sliders and wings were very good. Wings weren’t too spicy. Atmosphere nice. Good music. Clean. Very good service on a Monday night.

Wandered in during Happy Hour Good prices — Prompt service from Darrion but he had a horriblely arrogant, & surly attitude We could not get out of there fast enough We only had the one beverage due to the nasty experience. Only Three customers total — & we understood why!

Third drink stop of the evening(following Seaside Brewery and Beaches N’Brew). Had seen it while walking to the second stop, and wanted to check the place out during our night on the town. I wouldn’t go so far as to really call this place an «Irish Pub» either(noted a few others’ reviews). They have your typical display of Irish whisky, and Harp and Guinness on tap(along with Mac & Jack’s amber, Boddington’s, and some other stuff). They were under-staffed for the evening(only one bartender for the 25 or so people visiting), and some of the customers were overly rude about having to wait an extra minute before their drink order was taken. I felt the young woman behind the bar did a great job of making sure everyone was tended to as promptly as possible. The owner was at the place for a bit, and was friendly with the guests, but seemed somewhat oblivious to his staff being overwhelmed. We sat at the bar, but there was an area with sofas and a table away from the bar that seems like a good place for semi-large groups to congregate for an after-work cocktail. We didn’t order any food, but enjoyed our time there. Would grab a drink here again.

Crab dinner, fireball and a few Harp drafts… Might sound like an odd mix but I’ll call it fantastic!

It was a little odd because it just really isn’t an Irish pub; at all. There were a couple of Irish type decorations around, and a couple of Irish items on the menu, but there was also Italian, American, teriyaki. Kind of weird. Not very many beers on tap and ours were flat. Also not really the crowd for tourists, a bit on the sketchy side. We just had a beer and left, decided not to try the food. Our server was very friendly and prompt.

Try the cottage pie. OMG. Not a large portion so don’t plan on splitting it but well worth the price.

Originally tried to get into McKeown’s Restaurant, 40 minute wait. I walked down a bit and realized that the Irish Pub is owned by the same people and offered the same menu. And, we could get right in. Long, dark, narrow space with a pool table right as you come in. There is a large sofa area for seating as well as about 3 – 4 booths. Unfortunately, we sat at the first one we came to and the seats were pews, pretty uncomfortable. We never did go back any farther to see what the other options were. Waiteress was right there with menus and ready to take our drink orders. We had a hard time making decisions from the menu, so many things looked good. We ended up with 2 chicken pesto sandwiches, 2 reubins and a cottage pie. Everyone loved the food! Two in our party could not make up their mind so they each ended up with a sandwich and switched halves with the other. When side by side though, they said the reubin was the better of the two. Nice thick slices of corned beef, tons of cheese and grilled onions. Housemade fries were also a hit.(I did ask about getting a reubin, but on wheat, since I’m allergic to rye and was told they didn’t carry any wheat bread). So I was the one that ordered the cottage pie. It was excellent. A nice rich beef stew with ample portions of tender beef, carrots and petite onions. All topped with garlic mashed potatoes. I ended up eating more than I really wanted to as it was so good, I could not stop eating. It was served with a large piece of foccacia bread. Highly recommend stopping in here. The food was the best we have had in Seaside.

Really a great place with excellent corned beef sliders. I’m a local and hang out here pretty often but my only complaint is there is occasionally not enough staff to handle the load. There are 6 tables of patrons tonight, and the one bartender is having trouble keeping up.

Six of us, sat at the bar, bartender very attentive. Interaction was great, we all had a good time and have no problem with going back. Matter a fact this is about my fourth time back!

Food is better and it was already good. Service has not improved. We even had a discussion on how much it would be appropriate to tip. The bartender was nice to us but there were long delays between visits from him.

I recommend the happy hour — great prices and a nice way to try something kind of different than American pub fare. It ran $ 20 for 2 of us to eat a decent amount, no drinks(we just had soda), but still that’s way reasonable. I had the mini cottage pie with focaccia. The pie was really good, meat and potatoes comfort on a rainy gray day. The gravy is thick and hearty, veggies nicely done although kind of unidentifiable in the gravy. Good nonetheless. BF had a burger and fries(ok he really likes American pub fare), that he said was pretty good. I tried the fries, they were nicely seasoned but relatively unremarkable. Service was on point until the place kind of quickly filled up(a few couples walked in at the same time, then a party of about 8.) Then the place felt very understaffed as the one bartender/server ran from table to table. He was doing a great job, there were just too many tables for one guy. One minor irritation: as soon as you walk in the door, there’s a pool table. We walked in at the same time as another couple, and there wasn’t room for us all to come in as someone was taking a shot on the table… so we stood there awkwardly, door open and wind blowing while someone aimed and took their shot. It’s a weird setup and I’d say either move it back farther or don’t have a pool table at all. We might be back. The interior is comfy and warm, they have pretty decent food and at Happy Hour, decent prices. In a sea of rather bland food choices, The Irish Pub does stand out as different and interesting although between our experience and what I’m seeing on other reviews, service may need some work.

Bartender was awful he stared me and my wife down the second we walked in. Once we got a drink he was extremely rude and tried to show off to some girls. In his showing off he broke a glass and then shouted some profanities. He was extremely unprofessional and it was very sad. My wife and I will not be coming back.

Both my partner and I are foodies and have recently moved from Austin tx to the oregon coast and are trying to find good places to eat that don’t suck. So far we have found 4 in Astoria, 2 in cannon beach, and including the Irish pub 2 in seaside. This was our first time here. The bar is part of McKeowen restaurant with a separate door to enter from the outside. We decide to try this new place on a Wednesday night about 6:30 pm. Not a lot of people in the bar, Nice interior, pool table. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and food. The bar menu is limited; sliders, hamburgers, salad, soups, appetizer, stews. I had the corned beef melt and my partner had cottage stew. My hot sandwich was filled with layers of warm moist corned beef and melted swiss cheese on buttered grilled bread and came with a generous amount of crispy was very good. The cottage stew came in a bowl filled with cubes of beef and slightly undercooked veggies in a very tasty gravy style soup with a mashed potato topping. My partner said everything was very tasty, the meat & veggies still had texture and were not mush. Our food arrived in approx 15 min. We enjoyed our dinner listening to Irish music and talking to the very good bartender. No live music but will have music on St Patty Day celebration. We will be back to try other dishes.
