They had no problem installing the backup camera I bought elsewhere. Friendly, professional service. The total I paid for the install was less than the amount they quoted it would be which is one indicator of a very reputable business. I highly recommend them and would not hesitate to go back.

I called at 1:30pm on 5÷11÷116 and attempted to speak with an audio installer. The receptionist was very cold and dismissive. She told me both installers were busy so i asked if I could leave my number so they could call me, she stated they don’t do technical support over the phone. My call wasn’t even concerning technical support, I have a 69 mustang that I’m redoing and wanted a professionals guidance on what audio systems to install. She didn’t even ask questions to gather information. So i thanked her for nothing, because that’s what they get from me.

Kartunes is first class. I am so thankful I didn’t go anywhere else. Very knowledgeable and great customer service. Based on what I observed, they can handle the most complex stereo problems. Didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need. Fixed a huge mess of stereo wiring issues in less than an hour. The place is neat and clean, with very comfortable chairs to relax in while waiting.

Great customer service, stopped by to price radios. Got an awesome deal on a Alpine basic radio and installation. It was knocking on closing time and didn’t realize my car had sub-​woofer in the back. My old deck had a built in amp, they of course wanted to make sure I was aware about the sound difference. It ended up being too high pitch for my taste and instead of just letting me leave they stayed latter installing an amp to power the back sub-​woofer. Their willingness to stay and go above and beyond bought them a customer for live. Plus I’ll recommend them to anyone in need of car audio!

I walked in, not too certain about replacing my stereo and speakers immediately. I wanted to price everything out. The entire staff helped me in figuring out what stereo would fit my needs. They even made sure I did not replace components that still worked to help me save money. I was so happy with the customer service, when they offered to install immediately I couldn’t say no. Install was done in less time than quoted and I was out the door happy with my new stereo and speakers in no time at all.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! Absolutely fantastic and professional service. Tim installed an HID kit for my motorcycle. He did it in under an hour. The local motorcycle shop in seaside quoted me 3hrs! What a joke! If you want a true master tech to work On your bike/​car/​whatever come and see Tim!

Found Kartunes on Unilocal,as my stereo went out. I called and Karen, was very helpful describing options on the phone. So I drove down and Karen, who is very knowledgeable help me pick out a replacement and also got it installed all within 1 hour at a reasonable price.
A 1st rate family business. If you ever need a honest and reputable company to install your stereo or alarm system, I highly recommend Kartunes.
In addition a week after my unit was installed Karen called me up, unexpectedly asking how my stereo was working and if any questions! Now that is real customer service!!!

Kar tunes found out and explained why my speakers in the trunk blew out it was because of the hot mess over priced scum bags fooling around at and by Marina audio down the street. They have no idea what their talking about when it comes to cars. Kar tunes staff are very skilled and professional. You can see it in their work, their dedication to detail with perfection they love what they do they were made for it so people (Marina audios) just aren’t shit…
You want the job done right the «1st» time not the 2,3,4,5,6th time. Your time and money is precious. Don’t waste anymore time looking go straight to kartunes friendly && honest with great team work services

I’m changing my review after getting a call from Tim who took time out of his busy day to address my concerns and explain to me how it all works; I thought this was kind of him. I misunderstood what I was told and now feel like my first review wasn’t completely fair. Like I said in my previous review, I do feel Tim is skilled at what he does and is very friendly. He showed me that he does have concern, not just for his business, but also for the customer.

This was an excellent and painless experience. I called during their off hours, and they responded promptly that they would get back to me as soon as they open for the next business day. The next day, I received a call from Karen. I told what model car I have, the fact that I’m not an audiophile, and that I just want a decent stereo, speakers, and a better keyless entry. She was able to draft up a quote immediately. I went over to the store to see my options. Though she let me sample the higher quality systems, she knew that I was not in this for shows or extreme systems. She brought me down to a reasonable set of speakers, a nice stereo with all the options I requested, and a solid keyless entry/​alarm system.
(Military folks: if you are active duty, you get 10% off of equipment. I am, and they indeed honored that.)
Scheduling was a breeze. I dropped the car off first thing Friday morning, and it was done that day. Tim, the installer and technical expert spent about 15 minutes going over my new system. He showed me exactly what he did, where he installed everything, why it was installed that way, and how to use it properly. His work is extremely professional and honest.
Folks, if you’re thinking about going to a Big Box store, skip it. A family run business like this knows their products inside and out, and they take the time to give you a very personal experience. You will be very pleased with the results. I am.

Terrible… went in to ask about an install (strictly an install) and before I could finish my question some moron from the other side of the store kept hollering at the clerk about the «only parts he would use» and nothing about what I requested. Hopefully he reads this because he kept insisting on a power drain… well…genius…that’s why my car has a separate battery for things like this but since you’ve been in the business for as long as you say you have then you already knew that… right!!!
Great job guys… point of business is to service your clientele’s requests. If I were there to ask for product recommendations those words would have come out of my mouth. Don’t worry… I’ll spread the word for you!

Fantastic. I upgraded my old Alpine deck to a new Pioneer MVH-​X360BT, with Bluetooth to use with my iPhone. The husband-​and-​wife team were friendly and competent. Karen helped me decide on which model to get and answered all my questions. Tim suggested buying a new part from the dealer to restore my dash, since it had been cut and modified during the previous aftermarket install. The part was inexpensive and made it look great — I’m really glad I followed his advice. He did an excellent install and took time to to show me how it worked. I still need to RTFM and learn some details, but in general I’ve really been enjoying the new stereo and iPhone integration.
The best part? Kartunes charged me nearly HALF of the quote I’d gotten from a similar place in Santa Cruz just a few months ago.

We wanted to buy our son a car stereo for his 18th birthday. After calling Best Buy and getting absolutely no where, I looked on Unilocal for a local car stereo store and I am glad I did.
Kar Tunes is a local operator with the husband doing to installs and the wife running the store. Both are absolutely great people and know their business inside and out.
We selected the stereo and 6 speakers. All were installed perfectly, for the exact quote they gave me and completed on time.
I was so impressed, I am now going to have them install a rear backup camera in my car.
I don’t often write reviews, but Kar Tunes deserves this one!

I’ve heard many good things about this place.
A few months ago, I went in for some general questions. I went to the front to ask a question about the amp that was in my car. The person at the front desk didn’t seem like she knew what I was talking about. She had told me to ask 1 of the mechanics myself in the shop and walked me back there.
I asked my question and one mechanic started to answer, when the other one told him to stop, and if I want I can make an appointment and bring my car in. He told me they don’t get paid to answer general questions.
What he failed to realize, is that I was recently a paying customer for Kartunes and had actually had my stereo installed here. He was an older gentleman in the back shop, caucasion, mid to late 30s.
The customer service I received was rude, and horrible.
He did not even want to assist me with my question!!! How BS is that!!!
I had 3 friends I had recommended to this shop shortly after the work was done to my vehicle. But that completely changed after the rude customer service.
If you want someone to do a good job on your car, and be able to come to them as a RESOURCE, meaning someone you can refer back to in case you have any questions about the installation or equipment, then this is not the place.
You can expect a good installation, and no body there to help you after.
Be cautious!!!
