Stopped in yesterday for lunch as soon as they opened. First time in and was pleasantly surprised to see the wonderful golden brown pieces of tuna on top of a just right sized portion of fries. The tuna was thinly sliced which makes for uniformity and good consistency when frying. Nothing worse than fish and chips with some chunks overcooked while others are still needing a little more cooking time. The breeding was crisp, the fish was tender, moist and flavorful. Anyone reading this is likely well aware of the other fish and chip place just up the road, and wants to know how it stacks up. I LOVE the batter up the coast, and they will always be my first choice. But this is still a most excellent option, and I do not think you would be cheating yourself by choosing Grizzly over the other, or vice versa. They are two very distinctly different types of fish and chips that both just happen to use tuna. Definitely give Grizzly a chance, and make your own decision. My choice is to have both, depending on my mood.

Really good fish and chips in Seaside! Fish is fresh and you can get it regular or «grizzly» style which is crispier. Yummy. I’m a believer in tuna instead of cod after tasting this. Much more flavor! Fries were great too! Best around and the price is reasonable too. Recommend this new spot in Seaside.

Praise… and some advice for the owner: I stopped in a few weeks ago late in the afternoon… it was dark and rainy and it was almost impossible to locate the place. There’s no light on the sign that’s next to the roadway. It would seem that a few light bulbs aimed correctly would make a huge difference. And when you pull up to the window, there was a pretty sizable lake where you would have to put your foot if you needed to open the door and reach the window. A few bags of gravel should fill that in and correct the problem. I thought the food was great(get the crispy coating) and I’d recommend it, but go there pretty soon. It’s hard to imagine a restaurant can survive if you can’t see it after dark.

Really, really good. Such a great alternative to traditional fast food. I loved the fish and skinny fries. It was a very good value for the money. The service was fast and very friendly. Ill be back!

Really great fish; loved the tuna! A fun place to stop before heading out to the beach. The food was served extra hot. It was still steaming by the time I got to my picnic. The fries were amazing. Friendly service with a smile.

We swung in because I’m a tuna lover. I have a freezer full of bluefin & yellowfin from offshore trips, but a chance to enjoy some albacore was too much to pass up. Man, what a great call. The tuna was fresh, dredged in milk, then tossed in a nice flour mix before diving in the fryer. Served piping hot, it-is-to-die-for! Good job! $ 8 for a 3 piece, $ 10 for a 5… Screaming deal.

Just happened to drive by and stopped. Best fish and chips ever! Yum! So crispy and light. Should have taken a picture– ours looked much different than the ones posted. They must have changed their batter. Will definitely be back again!

This was not good food! The tuna was extremely thin and it was over cooked and came dried out. We will not return. Appears like they are trying to imitate the Bowpicker in Astoria… they can’t even come close!

So I was in Seaside for the weekend and saw this place alongside the road. At first I thought it was just another drive up coffee stand. But then I read the sign and was intrigued. Grizzly Tuna? Does that mean it is a cross between a bear and a fish? Or maybe some sort of really scaly tuna? Nope. As it turns out that is just the name of the place. I stopped in Saturday around 2 pm and noticed they had tables on their street side of the shop. So I parked and walked up to place my order. $ 8.00 for three pieces and fries. Not too bad of a deal. They put my fish and fries(I hate calling them chips because, well, ‘chips’ are very much different than the skinny little fries they served) into a brown paper bag and I went to sit at the tables… but then the wind picked up and the rain came in, so to my car I went. The fish was hot and tasty. Golden brown and crispy on the outside and moist and flaky on the inside. Good big chunks too. The fries — meh… skinny, soggy, undercooked and bland.(If the owners are reading this, get some better fries. Think of the JoJo type fries, or the plank fries you can get elsewhere. Those are better called ‘chips’ more than the anemic potato sticks you are currently serving). The staff inside were friendly and happy. They looked like they enjoyed their jobs. So, will I be back? Most likely I will if they are still in business the next time I am in Seaside. The way businesses come and go in this town, that could be a tall order in itself.

Terrific fish and chips. Cooked to order and good portions.(got the 5 piece fish and chips for $ 10) Young lady that took our order was very nice.(although we could hear her co-worker complaining about a prior customer– not smart) We will definitely be back.

Not sure why this place has gotten poor reviews, maybe they went on a bad day? We went today and loved it. Ordered 25 pieces to split between 3 adults, a baby and a dog and there was plenty to go around. I was skeptical at first, thinking it may be an overpriced tourist trap but it is far from it. We got 10 large pieces, well worth $ 20. Any restaurant you go to around here charges anywhere from $ 10 to $ 15 for 3 pieces that size. It’s nice that you don’t have to unload the crew and wait in line at this place, just drive right up to the window. We live right around the corner and will be back whenever we have a hankering for fish and chips!

Decided to try these guys out, had a hankering for some yummy local fish & chips as we passed through, saw the open sign and pulled right over! Didn’t get what we expected… Was this the fish, or the chips. Got $ 20 of chicken nugget-style«fresh» tuna… :(disappointed. If you want returning customers, give them their money’s worth. At least the fries were good.
