My family has done a lot of business with A and R over the years. I had them do some work on my moms place about a month ago and felt that the price is reasonable however I asked them to do some simple replacement of dryer ducting and they told me that they don’t do that. The repair man told me that I could go to Home Depot and do it myself. Why are they called plumbing and heating repair if they don’t do simple things like ducting? I know for a fact that they used to do ducting because they replaced the ducting on my dryer on my home in Marina 6 ½ years ago.
Most recently I called to see if they could repair a leaky toilet and would not be able to be fit in for almost a week.
Not sure if they’ve gotten too big for their britches or what however I am probably going to seek out another plumber for my needs.

You never know with plumbing companies. Crazy Drains still hasn’t called back. We called A and R to replace two kitchen fixtures, unclog the bath tub and install a bathroom fixture, all at multiple locations. They showed up on time and completed the work professionally. Their prices were very reasonable. When an issue arose from one of the fixture replacement jobs, they sent a plumber within hours to fix it (turned out that the problem was a faulty washer in the Kohler fixture not the installation). A and R also did not try to sell unnecessary services. A++. Would highly recommend.

I’ve used A&R for many, many years. Once, when my sewer line was clogged, I had Roto Rooter out and they told me I needed a new sewer line for $ 2,400+. Did not make sense to me since the sewer line was not that old. I promptly called A&R Plumbing, Kelly Roper came over, investigated himself, checked all the manholes on the block, even went to the City of Monterey. Final conclusion, I did not need a new sewer line. Needless to say, I was grateful for Kelley’s investigation and the fact that I avoided spending $ 2,400+ with Roto Rooter.

We used Unilocal to find a well reviewed plumber. A&R definitely deserves a stellar rating. The office was efficient and friendly and called promptly if the technician was delayed by an emergency. They got a technician to us first thing the next morning. The first technician was friendly and did great, clean work but when he opened the he saw our new toilet was broken. He said that happens and to be sure the next time open the box and check it in the store. The second technician was friendly, clean and made sure to ask exactly what we wanted and gave us good advice. He got our toilet installed quickly. Could not have been happier!

My toilet and tub was clogged. My friend recommended A & R Plumbing. On Monday morning I called A & R Plumbing and the earliest time they could come was Tuesday morning between 8:30 — 9:00am. Since they came highly recommended I scheduled them for the Tuesday appointment (which I regret now). They were a No Show! I waited on my curb for 30 minutes for them! I called them, a little after 9:00am, and the line was busy. I texted them. I finally got through at 9:08am and they said they were given the wrong address and their plumber that was scheduled for my job had moved onto the next job. I was treated very unprofessionally, and they implied that I gave them the wrong address. I asked to be rescheduled and they said they could not fit me in. I waited two days for them and this is how I am treated! I told them I was going to give them a bad review on Unilocal.They said they did not care because they have over 40 excellent reviews on Angie’s List!
I went to home depot and received fantastic help from their appliance personnel. They logged onto to their Redbeacon website, and put my information and plumbing problem in. I immediately had two plumbers call me as I was standing in Home Depot Appliance section and both plumbers came out to my house that day! My toilet and tub were unclogged for $ 100 and I am very happy. The bottom line is, if a plumber cannot make it out the same day, move onto another plumber who can come out. The two plumbers that were very professional, and responded immediately to my plumbing problem were CMC Plumbing Salinas, CA and Solutions Seaside, CA.
Lesson learned — if a plumber cannot come out the same day to fix your problem, they are not a plumber you want for now or future business.
There are other options — I utilized the Home Depot’s Seaside Appliance personnel — they were very helpful.
Either have them enter your job information in the website
or you can enter the job information and get a plumber immediately at a reasonable price (they quoted me the cost before they came out).

We have an antique clawfoot tub, circa 1905, that had leaking hot and cold water faucets. The first plumbing company that stopped out quickly said they could not work on such and old tub. A&R sent out Andrew who, while admitting this was a challenge, was confident he could tackle the assignment. He was competent, professional, and took great care to cover anything in the bathroom that could be scratched or broken. I also received a 20 minute advance phone call before his arrival and he hit the early part of the time window on both visits.

Definitely trust their work! They arrive when they say they will and get the job done right the first time! Personable employees every time I call!

Not only very competent, but honest and personable. Because of their honesty I was saved the $ 300 cost of a new pump. I’ve been dealing with these true gentlemen since 2007 and have always been impressed.

A & R is a reputable company with great employees who have all been with the company for many years… is a good indication that they are treated well by their boss. We had a complicated ejector system put into our home in order to make a bathroom for my mom downstairs, which was done with the minimum of bother and the team was always respectful of our home. I recommend A & R to anyone who wants a reliable plumbing company.

A&R has been a tremendous help to fix something I wasn’t even sure they would be able to fix. One of our carpet cleaning vehicles kept springing a leak from one part of our machine. We kept sending it back to the same mechanic all the way in Fremont who seemed to only do temporary fixes to the problem. What we really needed was some brand new copper piping that could withstand the heat coming from our machine.
To make a long story short, they came to our parking lot to fix the piping and it’s helped our machine out so much. There ended up being a REALLY SMALL leak that came out of that new piping and A&R promptly scheduled someone to come out and check it to retighten it again. That is amazing service and I will continue to use them as well as refer this busniess to others.

Very disappointing. Charged me for an hour, then told me they do not do the kind of work need on the dishwasher and to do some work outside they would need a special rotor-​router machine. I’d have to pay the $ 99 service charge avian for them to come out. I clearly told the person I made the appointment with why I needed them in the first place.
Had another company come out the next day and fixed everything for $ 49!
Would not recommend A and R.

These guys are great. Quick response time, reasonable prices, quality work. I go to them for all of my plumbing needs.

I hardly will take the time to write a review for a business so the fact that I am writing one for them in itself is saying something.
Had some issues with my toilet for some time plus the main kitchen faucet was leaking.
Called to schedule an appointment on Monday. It was quick, easy and reasonable. They said he would be here around 8:30−9am. He showed up at 8:25! My plumber’s name was Marc. He was a nice guy, easy going and knew what he was doing.
He did a great job on the faucet and even took the time to polish it up. It looks like a brand new faucet. As for the toilet, he did that in a jiffy as well.
Labor was definitely reasonable, parts as always will be marked up but other than that I am quite satisfied with the work Marc did. I would easily call them again.

A & R Plumbing is an asset to the Monterey Peninsula. They stand behind their work and seem genuinely concerned about customer satisfaction. The service technicians are knowledgeable, courteous and arrive on time. The office staff is helpful and does an excellent job of scheduling appointments. Kudos to everyone at A & R Plumbing… especially Phil! Highly recommended!

Had two toilets with fill valves and flap covers that needed to be replaced. A&R sent out Stephen who showed up 45 minutes into the 2 hour window. He put on slip covers which I really appreciatedsince we have new carpeting. He knew exactly what to do and fixed the problems in 20 minutes. Cleaned up after himself.
A&R’s prices are very reasonable. $ 95 per hour for labor and a $ 5 trip charge. Cost for parts were not excessive as they were $ 12 each.
After A&R came, we noticed that one of the toilets was still making a dripping noise in the tank and was occasionally releasing a backflow of water. Called them yesterday and they sent Robert out to fix it at no extra charge.
If you live in the PG/​Monterey/​Seaside/​Marina area, A&R is the only company you need for any plumbing problems. They are a good company,
