UFC Gym – Scottsdale

Fantastic staff and GREAT workouts. Adrian the manager definitly knows how to run a business and keep members satisfied.

If I I could I would not give it any stars. Please pick another gym! I have yet to be satisfied in anyway with this gym! At the end of the day it’s about how much they can make off of you! One class for beginners was never thought some of the basic thing which made me feel like I was always doing something wrong. If I needed anything to make my workout better of course it came with a price. At the end of the day my account was overdrawn each month I was there which they stated would go toward my next month payment. At some it was over a$ 100 and the manager could not figure out why yet to help with the refund. Many other gyms to pick from please pick another that has a bit better standards regarding there accounts!

I was lied to and now down $ 237.
First, this is a great gym. As a long time martial artist, I can tell when instructors know their stuff, and I appreciate a motivating and welcoming staff who care about results and progress of their students. This school definitely includes many such benefits.
They advertise on their website that three classes are free. I took one free class and was offered the following: I can spend $ 69 today (one month membership, no other fees) and be allowed to cancel within two weeks for a full refund. Before the two weeks were up I realized I could not continue training and called to cancel. They said I had to come in in person to cancel instead, so I did. After signing a cancellation form I was told everything was okay.
I checked my bill a few weeks later and noticed three things were wrong: (1) I was not refunded, (2) I was charged more than I expected, and (3) my membership was NOT cancelled. I called the GM over the phone and was able to officially cancel through him.
***Here’s the truth*** If you sign up, you must cancel within three days to get a refund. If you don’t cancel, you will get charged for your first month, your last month, plus another fee (69+69+99).
I was not told this when I signed up and instead was told a complete lie.
Aren’t integrity, trust, and honesty basic qualities of a martial artist? Still with those principles aside, this is a business, and money is an important factor in getting returning customers. Regardless of the fact that I was impressed by this gym, I will not be returning.

Let me start by saying the first time I entered the gym it was great, clean, nice trainers and a fun workout.
The second time I had the one free personal training session with one of their trainers and it was awesome, super knowledgeable and a really tough exercise. Once we finished with the session he talked about the prices for personal training sessions which I told him I didn’t want. Didn’t really want to take no for an answer and repeatedly tried to convince me to buy it. Something like $ 400 for 4 sessions, no thank you.
I was told when I signed up that I would just need to give them «30 days notice» that I wanted to cancel. On oct 1^st I sent an email to their GM saying I wanted to cancel. No reply.
I sent an email on the 18^th two days after I was charged $ 69.00 for membership fees asking if the email was manned. I got a reply back saying yes, and to cancel I would need to come into the gym, I can’t do that, said I would just sign something electronically. No reply.
Contacted the GM again today because they tried to draft money from my account again, and was told that he could send me an electronic cancellation form and he would need «30 days notice» and any fees incurred during that time would need to be paid. So not only do I have to pay the $ 69 that was taken out of my account 15 days after I requested a cancellation they want and extra $ 140 because I have yet to give them «30 days notice».

This gym was awesome the workout was intense but fun. Besides the high monthly membership prices this gym is a great workout place!

I signed up for a 3 month membership last November and signed a contract with UFC gym. I did the 3 month contract because I was anticipating moving. Flash forward to today, where I realize I have insufficient funds on my debit card and receive a TEXT message from the owner of the gym stating that my membership is past due. I tell him that I just moved, and ask about how to cancel since I recall signing up for a 3 month membership. He responds by telling me that I need to come in and sign a cancellation policy and he asks how I want to pay. I tell him I am not in the state so he responds asking for my email to forward me the cancellation policy and that I need to pay before I am allowed to cancel.
All of this sounded sketchy so I ask if they have a copy of my contract on file by any chance. He responds by saying, «Actually your membership is cancelled. I am sorry for the bother». I then ask when it was cancelled. No response. I go online to look at my bank account and realize that they have been charging me $ 59.99 every month since I signed up in November (most recent charge being in August). And they would’ve continued to charge me without my consent or notice if I hadn’t had insufficient funds this month.
I should also note that I had purchased a groupon for about 12 sessions and an employee had harassed me after my first day to sign up by texting me 2 – 3 times a day persuading me to sign up and giving me a «good deal». I never had a chance to use my groupon after the first day and didn’t receive full value for it. Stay away, this gym is not going to stick around much longer with their shady business practices.

I’ve just moved to the area and had been interested in boxing before when this place popped up right next to my local grocery store! I found a first class free online and decided to dive in. It was soo much more fun punch stuff than I thought it would be! People there are also ridiculously nice/​polite and already know my name. They even hold you accountable for coming in on a regular basis which is big for me because I’m a slacker. There are people from all walks of life are coming here which helps if you’re worried about embarrassing yourself. It’s also great motivation to see a little kid kicking the shit out of something and thinking to yourself «wow if he can do it, I sure as hell can!». I actually push myself in they’re workouts and have already seen results in the first week of going. This place is great in a «Dodgeball» underdog kind of way and I’m so glad I joined!

I love the intensity of this gym, I am guaranteed an amazing workout.

If you’re looking to get ripped off and have ridiculous amounts of money snatched out of your account 5 days after your «free «class, go to this gym. It advertised a week free trial but out of nowhere my daughters card was charged $ 90 and then she was told she owes another $ 189 after she told them she didn’t sign up for this membership. Very tacky sale practices. Strong arming struggling students for their money. Misleading bullied teenagers looking for help. Well ufc gym is the real bully. I will be reporting them to the attorney generals office. The BBB is fully aware of this business and I hope that some type of fine will be imposed. Please beware. I wish I could give zero stars.

This is a great gym! I’m Scottsdale for a few months and have long been searching for a boxing style gym to get in shape. Wish there was something like this where I live.
I like the straight forward boxing style workout, punching a heavy bag and calisthenics. And the instructor was great, I’m older, 61 and I didn’t feel pressured to keep up and he regularly advised and assisted on punching technique. I was exhausted by the end of the class, but in a good way. They have a ring setup in the gym. At the end of the class while catching my breath and cooling down I watched some real fighters spar in the ring.
This works for me because I’m not into the pomp and vigor of Asian martial arts as typically taught. I don’t like bowing to a mat or Sensei or worshipping a Kung Fu master or a mystical Bruce Lee 1″ punch. It’s not out of disrespect it just doesn’t suit my style. I like the vibe at the UFC gym, just need to keep going.

What a great workout at the UFC Gym in Scottsdale, Az. I love this place and everybody is very helpful. Be prepare to sweat like crazy and be sore for days.

I have been going here a few months and it is an amazing gym where you can not only get a great cardio workout but you will actually learn how to box. I enjoy the options of going to class or coming in and doing your own thing. The trainers who teach classes are great and all the employees are really nice and get to know you. Weather you are a beginner or someone who is in shape and knows how to box, this gym will cater to you and make you feel like a valued member.

This is a great gym with professional instructors. Workouts are intense. Be prepared to be pushed to be your best.

Great gym! Small community with professional coaches (and former boxers) who help you meet goals and focus on good structure and form. The DUT (basically conditioning) has shown real results to my body. There are always special events on the weekends! Definitely give UFC a try — they do have free sessions for newcomers.

I highly recommend this boxing gym! I have wanted to try out boxing for a very long time but I was always too intimidated to actually go in and sign up. I had a friend who used one of their deals on Groupon and spoke very highly of the classes, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and non-​intimidating atmosphere. I finally sucked up the courage to go in and I am SO happy I did! Coming from someone who is a cardio junkie, it is an amazing workout! The staff is so nice and consistently check up on you during class to offer tips and coaching. The owner David runs this place great, you can tell he really care about his clients and staff.
I recently took a one on one coaching session with Nik and he was awesome as well! Hard to find a coach that’s manages to kick your butt but keep you smiling and having a good time throughout the training.
They offer a variety of class times including early morning and late night classes, which is great for myself and anyone who is a working professional with unpredictable hours at work! Nothing but wonderful thing to say about UFC Scottsdale, hope this review helped anyone thinking about trying out boxing!

I’ve been a member of several gyms. I’ve done the classes, I’ve used the machines, but it was a chore and after a certain amount of time, I just stopped going. I didn’t lose weight, I didn’t really improve physically, I just spent money on memberships that I didn’t use.
I’m not athletic. So the idea of even doing a kickboxing or boxing class, let alone an MMA class was frightening, but I knew I had to do something. I was over weight and rapidly approaching the big «5» «0». I did not like the way I looked or felt. I wanted to change my life. I saw an ad on t.v. for a gym that offered a different type of workout. It looked hard, scary and I thought impossible for someone of my fitness level, but if I was ever going to change, this is what it was going to take.
LOVED IT! Okay, honestly it’s more of a love hate relationship. :) That was 37 lbs (and counting) ago and I’ve gone from a size 12 to a size 6. The instructors and my personal trainer, Brandon at UFC Gym have held me accountable, as well as challenged and pushed me beyond what I ever thought possible. I’ve been pushed to the point of almost throwing up. I’ve been so sore, it hurt to get out of bed. I’ve sweat so much that it was running into my ear. Sound fun? Well it is! I’m in the best shape of my life. My endurance level is great. I’ve never felt stronger or healthier and I look pretty good for someone who’ll be 50 next year.
If you want to be challenged, if you want that personal touch, if you want to change and improve physically, you need to check out UFC Gym in Scottsdale. Do something different!

I don’t normally go out of my way to write Unilocal reviews but the UFC Gym in Scottsdale definitely deserves it because they truly go the extra mile for me. Where to begin? Think I’ll break it up between Customer Service, Schedule, Atmosphere, Price, Knowledge, Facility and Results.
Customer Service is impeccable here. This isn’t the type of gym where they herd you in like cattle and then forget about you once they have your money. They clearly value their members and want to keep them. They’re totally passionate about what they do and it shows. Little things like remembering your name or making sure your informed about any schedule changes make a huge difference.
Schedule is super convenient. They’ve got classes going on from 5am-​9pm so there’s always an opportunity to make up a class if you’re trying to get in there at least 3x a week. They’ve also got private sessions available in case you want to improve your technique or just have a busy week.
Atmosphere is super friendly and well maintained. I’ve spoken with a few locals that are intimidated about joining this gym because they think it’s going to be a bunch of gnarly dudes trying to bludgeon each other up. Needless to say, those people spend to much time at home watching TV than taking care of their health. Everyone that attends these classes (men and women) are on different levels and you’re able to modify your workout until you’re ready to advance. I think they also have earlier classes for kids when they get out of school.
Price is way affordable. I’ve been to other boxing gyms where they make you sign a year contract and work you into paying outrageous rates and fees or they charge you per session. Honestly, they could charge a lot more for the value you’re getting at UFC Gym. They also have different pricing plans so you’re able to select the one that you’re most comfortable with.
Knowledge is key and these guys have it. You get that one-​on-​one attention you need to improve your technique and push yourself to the next level. They don’t just focus on the person who’s struggling through the entire class and allow you to continue using bad form. I tried a private session and learned so much about how to think more like a fighter and improve both my offense and defense skills.
The Facility is brand new and well maintained. It always smells good in there, the bags are all wiped down and the floor is always vacuumed. Oh yeah, there are 30 – 40 bags and all of the weights, treadmills, and other exercise equipment you could possibly need. Great sound system in there also cranking out tunes to keep you motivated.
Finally, most importantly… RESULTS! I came to this gym suffering from severe chronic back pain. I’ve seen every type of back pain specialist you can think of and tried every local gym from Cross Fit to swimming. After a month of going to UFC Gym I can say with much gratitude that, through a combination of core strength training, range of motion practices and stretching, my back pain is almost completely gone. That my friends is worth its weight in gold. Speaking of weight, I’ve been shedding some serious lbs and am starting to see my body totally transform.
Overall, this gym deserves a shot. This is a lifestyle change where you’re not only getting in shape but you’re also learning how to protect yourself by doing something that’s mentally and physically stimulating.
UFC Gym deserves to be staple of our neighborhood for a very long time to come.

I don’t know why Neil B. had a problem with the Unilocal sign… If he had actually gone into the Gym instead of judging it from its cover outside, he would have found out that even his review would have gotten this «gift» (very nice boxing wraps) it said a review good or bad… after speaking with the gym, they did this so they can better the gym based on what the people want… and let me tell you IT WORKS… they listen to the guests and make the workouts fun and beneficial! Im taking the MMA and boxing classes… I haven’t done the Kickboxing yet however I do plan to… I also lift at the gym on my own time

If you’re looking for a calorie busting, total body conditioning session come to UFC Gym! Nic did an amazing job keeping up the intensity while coaching the group and still being attentive to form. I definitely recommend cross training with kickboxing for all who are looking to get in amazing shape.

This is a GREAT GYM!!! The hours are AWESOME, the Staff are GREAT and the classes are INTENSE. If I were you I’d take advantage of the specials they’re having right now for new members!!! You want to get fit? You want to pushed beyond limits? Then this is the place for you!!!

A-​mazing! This is the only gym I’ve been a member of that I actually WANT to go to day after day. The class schedule offers tons of different times throughout the day, making it difficult to use the «I have no time» excuse.
The staff is wonderful! They’re very knowledgable and actually want to be there. They take the time to get to know everyone’s skill level and shape the class around who is there and where everyone is at.
I highly recommend paying them a visit and trying out a class!
