We called them out last month bc our garage door was not working properly they put in new rollers and 2 weeks later I closed the garage and 4 of the rollers fell out. We called them back since they put them in thinking they would make it right. It took 3 weeks for them to get a new garage door then gave us a time frame of 2 – 6 to come out. At 5:45 we get a call they’re not going to make it out!!! Then the next day they called and said we’re out of the openers!!! They had 3 weeks to check and see I think they were just trying to pull a fast one on us. Said they would upgrade I of course did reviews the opener they tried to upgrade was a ²⁄₃ star review opener. I will never recommend them to help anyone else. They offered us a $ 50 credit but what’s $ 50 when you call off work to wait on them and are paying over $ 1000 for service???

Avoid Precision Door Service and find someone else.
Warranty specifically stated on the receipt that it’s for 10 years, parts and labor.
The logic board on the opener went bad and I called to have it replaced, the tech said that they don’t use paper receipts anymore (now they use tablets) and because of it the warranty policy has changed this warranty isn’t covered but it’s still partially covered in their current warranty which covers the cost of the part but not the labor. So they’re charging us $ 99 to fix it.
I scheduled them to fix it the next day and they never showed up, no call no show. I called them the day after that to find out why and the tech said that I became combative and literally kicked him off the property — which I didn’t. I voiced my disapproval and why they wouldn’t honor the warranty they themselves wrote and still scheduled anyway expecting to pay the $ 99 because I need it fixed.
Precision Door Service changes their policy to suit them and doesn’t honor their agreements. The tech looked for other ways to upcharge me including re-​tensioning springs (which I know doesn’t need to be done), or upgrading the garage opener, etc.
Look elsewhere and avoid the trouble.

My garage door broke last night so we called Precision garage door to come repair it. The service man came out did not even look at the door for more than 30 seconds quoted me a price of $ 400. The service man was very rude as was his assistant called a different company Affordable garage door they came out and did the repair for $ 120. Don’t ever use this company absolutely ridiculous prices and terrible service.

Had a spring break, so called several companies for a ‘free’ estimate to replace the spring. When tech came out, told me I also needed new cables, pulleys, rollers. Interesting… since the other door companies I called out said I didn’t need these items. So, when I asked for a breakdown of prices on each item, the tech got angry and refused a written quote. Then he tried to charge me for the trip when I clearly got the ok for a free quote from Precision’s ‘office’.
I literally had to force him out of my garage because he was being a jerk. Called the ‘office’ and they apologized, but from additional research, I see this company just sucks. Found a video from Dateline NBC that also showed how bad this company is (

Over Charged!
My garage door was broken on a Saturday evening and wouldn’t close, so my wife called Precision Garage doors to come out and fix it. They said an after hour’s call will require an additional $ 100. The technician (Brandon) showed up and was knowledgeable and nice and I have no problem with the level of service he provided. When Brandon arrived he looked over the door said he would need to re hang it, and once that was done he could inspect the hardware to see if anything needed replacing. I agreed. I went in the house and 8 minutes later the technician knocked on the door and said he was done. I was like great that was fast, then he told he wouldn’t charge me $ 450 dollars he would only charge me $ 350. To fix the door he needed to re string the cable on the drum. Naturally I was upset who gets paid $ 350 dollars for 8 minutes work, even if you consider the extra charge for after hours. The technician said he couldn’t change the price even though it only took 8 minutes to fix because it is company policy, the only consolation was he could add a strut to my door which would help but wasn’t really needed. So I had a choice pay $ 350 for 8 minutes work or pay $ 350 for 8 minutes work and a strut which took an extra 15 minutes. So I said put the strut on I’ll pay the $ 350 and call your office on Monday to lodge a complaint. I can’t help but feel I was totally ripped off for the amount of time and effort. I called three other companies to get a quote for the same work and all three came within $ 25 of each other averaging $ 175. About $ 125/​hr for labor and around $ 55 for the service call. I paid the bill, and shame on me for not checking out this company (see other reviews on Unilocal) before having them come out, but I’m writing this review so hopefully the next person doesn’t get taken to the cleaners like me.

Do not use this company.
My garage door would only go half way down when the remote control was used. After I tried to make self adjustments the problem persisted. This would seem like a simple repair for a professional. I called Precision Door Service.
The company’s website offers a «free estimate». This is just a way to use high pressure sales tactics on the spot to sell new garage door openers. They are not interested in putting pen to paper or repairing your existing equipment. When I balked at the technician’s pitch and asked for a written estimate, he became aggressive in stating that the minimum to come to my home to asses the garage door was $ 149.
So much for a free estimate. Stay away!

Worst Company Ever. Never use them. They are complete scammers!!! Please use any company but them because you will regret it!!! These people came out and tried to tell me that I needed springs replaced and they said I would have to pay $ 1500 hundred dollars and there was no other way. I had two more companies come out and they said the most I would pay for the exact same thing was $ 400, but that I actually only needed a simple fix and that was a trolley replacement. My garage was fixed by another company in 5 minutes and I was only charged $ 86 dollars. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!

TERRIBLE and unethical. They quoted us around «$ 200 installed» over the phone for broken springs, then when they worked on it for 20 minutes, claimed that all these other parts were broken, and EACH spring was $ 200, which drove the quote to $ 500. My husband called two other companies and price compared the springs which were indeed $ 200 for both (not each), and told the service man to pack up his tools and leave. We instead used ALCAL (who we used last year) and they were AMAZING. By the way, the other parts WERE NOTE EVEN BROKEN (as we suspected). BEWARE.

Scam Artists!
Called in and got an appointment to get a quote for a broken spring. Two guys showed up, Matt and Sebastian, and brought them inside my home to see the damage. Main guy Matt immediately punches in some numbers in his tablet and comes up with a $ 550 plus quote. I’m like…“Whoa dude, the spring is like $ 70 bucks!”. So he explains to me that they use «better» aftermarket springs with a 10 year warranty. I said, «Look guys, your quote is outrageous, so I’m good, thanks for the visit». So he says, «Well, let me see If I can get my manager to get us a discount», and boom, magically they knock out $ 200 dollars out of the quote, so now its $ 320 something out the door with the same materials. I told them, «That is still pretty steep, so I’m going to have to give it some thought», and the guys says «Well, were here now, we can wait». I told him straight up that I was feeling really pressured and didn’t appreciate him being so pushy, and that I had to think about it so I would give them a call later. He was then very apologetic and said he was sorry. Then Matt said «Well, if you don’t get it repaired, I’m going to have to charge you $ 55 for the service call». I told him that he was full of BS because the website said «Free Estimates» and then he said «Oh yes, the website… errh» and backed down. I welcomed them out of my house immediately, and after the fact, they remained in the front of the house for an extra 10 minutes talking to each other, maybe hoping I was going to succumb to the earlier pressure. They finally left thank God.

SCAMMERS!!! I am sad to say that I didn’t look on Unilocal first before choosing this company to fix my garage door. I called Precision to come out and service my garage door because it was very loud. The person on the phone said they were sending out their technician Ivan. Ivan looked at my garage door and said that everything was working fine except for the nylon rollers. He said to replace all 10 rollers it would be $ 299. I told him that was too much and I would call someone else. Then he immediately tells me that he can get a manager approved discount for me for $ 75 dollars off. I said ok, and let him service the door. I should have stayed in the garage and watched him work, but needed to go inside with my 2 young children. I came out when he was finished, and he told me he did all of this extra work, like liquid sillicone in all joints and tightened some springs (before he started he told me springs were all fine). The garage was quieter after he finished, and I thought everything was fine. He also said the garage door was in great working condition and all it needed was the rollers. Ivan said he would e-​mail me my reciept in 20 minutes because his tablet wasn’t working. He never e-​mailed me the receipt. Shortly after Ivan left, I went to open the garage door, and noticed after opening, that the door wouldn’t stay open! It would slide slowly back down, to where I can’t get my car out of the garage! So, Ivan came to fix the loud noise and left me with a broken garage door, where my husband and I can’t get our cars in or out. This was after 5:00, so I decided to wait until the next morning to call.
I called their office the next day and the person on phone told me that it was probably just a spring and it would be an easy fix. Ivan came back out to take a look. When he arrived, he looked at door for 2 seconds and said that my Garage door opener motor was broken, and that I needed to buy a new one from them! I told him that he is the one that broke the door while he was servicing it, because it worked fine before he started, and they needed to rectify the situation. Ivan said there was nothing he could do but charge me for the new opener replacement and service and to call his manager Ryan. So I called Ryan. Of course the receptionist told me «Ryan was on the other line» and asked if she could help. I told her my story of now broken garage door after paying $ 238 dollars for new nylon rollers. She told me that this happens all of the time! After servicing a garage door it can make other parts break!!! I laughed out loud. Ivan never mentioned to me during the service that doing so could make my garage door break, and they won’t be responsible for it! I wouldve just lived with the loud noises it was making, if I wouldve known that information! The receptionist said she would have the manager Ryan call me to see what he could do. Guess what??? Ryan NEVER CALLED ME BACK!
Stay far away from this company! They truly are scam artists. They broke my garage door. The manager or owner has yet to contact me. I highly doubt that they will after reading all of these reviews on Unilocal

Stay clear from this company! Paid on commission and also were on Dateline for ripping people off! Charged my neighbor $ 2500 for a spring job and sold her parts she didn’t need. She could of bought 3 new garage doors for the price they charged her.

You really need to do your homework before hiring this company !!! I hired them based on an Angie’s list recommendation and oh my what a horrible experience. My garage was stuck open and the tech wanted 1500.00 to replace door. My neighbor goggled their company and found terrible things written by the garage door contractor assoc about Precision door and an undercover video that further incriminates this company. I really don’t know how they remain in business? I called Wayne Dalton and was charged 75.00 for a broken spring. That was 3 yrs ago and everything is still working properly. Do not let this company rip you off. The same manager that was interviewed in the undercover bust, is still in charge. How very sad to have dishonest businesses thrive; (. I highly suggest, Do not hire this company. Do not allow them to step foot on your property !

DO NOT CALL PRECISION. SCAMMERS. I read all of the other Unilocal reviews and had the same experience. Was quoted $ 1,400 to fix our garage door when it ended up being much much less. Basically they told me I needed to replace everything except the door itself. I might not know much about garage doors but I do know when I’m being taken advantage of. Apparently there was a Dateline episode exposing their scamming techniques, wish I would’ve watched it and saved myself some time!

Came out while I was at work and quoted my wife. She thought the quotes sounded high so called me and put the guy on the phone to explain what was wrong. I was told it was going to cost $ 600 for a «band aid» but they could fix the door for $ 1500. I told them that I was not going to do anything that day. I then called another company and scheduled an appt for the following day. The other company replaced 2 springs (the door actually had only 1 originally). The total cost was $ 225. Precision is a shameful company with grossly unethical business practices and I feel bad for those that pay the insane quotes.

WARNING: Stay Far Away From Precision Door! This is one of the worst SCAMS in the entire valley that will cost you thousands. Please read this FIRST!
Never have I been attempted to be scammed as hard as when the precision door tech came out for a garage door that was not operating properly. As a naïve home owner I did not check the Unilocal reviews prior to calling them. I hope this finds someone before they fall in the same predicament I was in.
Within a quick diagnosis I was told that I needed a new set of springs and drums, for a tune of $ 2000. Quickly through the tech talking to the ‘manager’ (fake call?), the price dropped to $ 1000. That still seemed absurd to me — so I told them I would call around. After that the tech started pressing me on how much I wanted to pay to get it done, which raised more red flags and I told them I do not want their service right now.
Through some friends I came on Lodi doors, where a technician came out, promptly adjusted a few knobs on my garage box and the door was back to being perfect. He told me all my equipment was in top shape and did not need a thing. All to the tune of $ 60 for the tech visit.
Never have I been so blatantly lied to and taken advantage of as a home owner. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay away from this company and their SHADY tactics selling you parts and labor you do not NEED at absurd prices. If you need more proof, they have been exposed on NBC DATELINE for running shady tactics. You can google that and see for yourself. STAY AWAY!!!

My garage was broken and would not open tapping my car in there. A tech came out and said they can open it now for 450 $ a f come back the next day to fix it for real for $ 500. Seriously? ?? Glad I have another car. Then when they came to fix it, it now works but did not have weather stripping and does not close all the way. Second appointment that had been canceled. Apparently some techs work from home. We got a call Sunday to reschedule for Monday (1\5\15) and we tried calling back and they said we had the wrong number because it was their home. So we have an appointment today from 4 – 6 and being close to 6 we call and they see it on the schedule but apparently did not send confirmation email that tech received… so now I have to take another day off. So if you don’t get a confirmation email about your appointment, the tech won’t show. I will never use this company again! !!! Will be reporting to bbb.

This company’s «10 year warranty» on parts is completely false. They inflate labor or «shop supply» fees to cover the cost of the warrantied part!
Our garage door would not open and we could tell one of our two black tension springs was broken. Precision Door Service had replaced this EXACT same spring on the door back in 2010, so we called them again since this part was covered under a 10 year parts warranty as indicated on our previous receipt.
I called at 4 pm and Jeff said they could have a technician out by 6 pm. No one called or showed up so we called back at around 6:30 pm. Jeff said the technician had just finished a job and was on the way. We had to call 3 more times (each time they told us the technician was on the way) when finally a technician showed up after 9 pm!
Just to compare, our previous receipt from 2010 showed that they replaced TWO tension springs at $ 99/​each, 12 neoprene volleys at $ 99, and $ 29.99 for shop supplies for a total with tax of $ 354. The bill for THIS visit in which they replaced ONE spring that was supposedly covered under warranty was $ 165!!! A $ 165 labor fee to replace ONE spring after arriving 3 hours late? This place is unreputable with no real warranties. Their pricing is inflated with hidden charges and service fees. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Overhead door spring broke. The lady on the phone quoted me $ 99 dollars installed for my broken spring on a typical 2 car garage door. I was excited as it was the least expensive of the 5 companies I called. The service man showed up and was pleasant enough at first… Then he stated «oh that’s not the cost of the spring for your door». He said «you need a much better spring» «a double spring» $ 215 installed other wise he would «just be back in two years, because this cheap spring will break» (the new one mind you).
I said no thanks, just the $ 99 one please and that’s when it happened he balked again and then… He changed into some kind of pouting, aggressive teen.
I mean he got mad!!! He went so fast he was slamming things, dented my garage wall and darn near bent the cross bar. He complained about how cheap my «cables» we’re and made smart mouth comments like «oh yea this new spring will break soon» «Cheap Steele»
I tried to ask some questions and he ignored me, treated me like I was a cheapskate nuisance.
This company is disgraceful in practice and service and I should have read these reviews first.
Don’t bother, unless you like to feel threatened, badgered to spend more, and lied to to be up sold.

My garage door wouldn’t open on a Sunday, so I called Precision. They sent a technician out right away, so we are off to a great start. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable, but then came the quote: $ 1,600 + tax to replace a conversion pole and 2 springs. When I balked at the price, the technician called his manager and lowered the bid to $ 1,200 + tax as a one day only sale. A friend recommended a different company, and they did the same job with quality parts for $ 260 with tax. I understand paying a premium for a big company that can back their warranty, but I could have the job done with the other company 4 times if I was lucky enough to live that long and still have enough money to purchase a couple tickets to Disneyland!

Qoute you one price and once the serviceman gets there. Oh that’s not the right spring for your door yours is going to be double and you need to replace these drums also.
. I Called the business while serviceman was there just by the reaction from lady on the phone and the worker this is there normal business practice.
To many businesses out there to choose from. I won’t call here again.
