Our Advanced Auto Service & Tire Centers location on Sahuaro Drive in North Scottsdale, is just off Frank Lloyd Wright and Shea Blvd., is a great location for tires and service. Our North Scottsdale location has some of our most experienced service writers and ASE-​certified technicians. They can handle most any service from mounting and balancing tires on road force balancing machines to full engine and transmission service. We’re the Scottsdale tire experts. Our free shuttle service can both drop off and pick up customers from their homes and local businesses. We offer coffee and free wifi in our waiting room.

Advanced Auto has been providing Arizona with friendly and knowledgeable auto service since 1989. Our associates have years of automotive service and customer relations experience.

Meet the Manager

Tom C.

Manager

From the beginning, Tom had a very strong affinity towards anything with an engine. Being young and fearless, this interest and his budget at the time led to motorcycles. Since then he’s owned and serviced Hondas, Suzukis, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He currently owns and enjoys a 2005 Heritage Softail. This interest and aptitude for servicing motorcycles naturally directed his career path into automotive service. In 1982, he received his automotive service training from a technical college out of Morrisville, New York. From there Tom got his ASE-​certification while turning wrenches for the next couple of years. Although this hasn’t been confirmed, we’re guessing that the winter weather in Morrisville, New York was one of the driving factors in pointing Tom out West.

Almost from the beginning of his Arizona residency over 20 plus years ago, Tom has been a part of the Goodyear family in one way or another. He’s turned wrenches and advised customers from the counters of both Goody

I work very close to this shop, so when random things go wrong with my car (although not often), I tend to bring it here. I am blown away by the consistency and helpfulness of the crew, especially Gary. It’s great to have a place like this where you know you are not going to get ripped off if you don’t know everything about cars, and they genuinely care.

I had my car towed to the shop on Monday, March 21st at 730am. They called me a few hours later to tell me that my rear differential was bad and it needed to be replaced. The individual gave me a quote for the parts and labor and said it would take a day to get the part in and 3 – 4 hours for the labor. I said that wasn’t a problem and that I just needed it done by Friday because I was going out of town for work. I called on Wednesday and Thursday to check the status and was told that everything was going well and it would be done on time. I then get a call on Friday morning around 10am with the shop telling me that it was the wrong part and they wouldn’t be able to get the right part until Saturday. I questioned why they were just finding out that the part was wrong now since they received it on Wednesday and why they didn’t let me know when I called to check on the status. They did not have an answer. Saturday comes and I get a call saying that they sent the wrong part again and that it would be atleast until Tuesday before they could get my car done. I call on Tuesday to check the status and I’m told that my part did not «make the truck» and they are hoping it makes it for Wednesday. I explain my growing frustration with the excuses. My car is finally done on Wednesday at 6pm. When I go to pick up my car, they offer to take off $ 50. I told the individual at the front that I wasn’t going to try to get anything for free but that he had to realize a) the amount of extra $ that it cost me for the rental car b) the amount of money that all the additional time cost me for missing the out of town work and c) the frustration of excuses and just overall poorly run facility. I’ve taken my car and my wife’s car there for years and never had any issues until this situation. They could have handled it in a much better way and their customer service needs a lot of work.

Got towed here after the day from hell and being broken down on the highway. It was 4.30 on a Saturday (they close at 5), but they got my car up to take a look at it immediately. Couldn’t help much, they recommended I take it to a dealer, but they didn’t charge me for the fluids they put in it, AND they let me keep it in their Garage until Monday morning for free. Excellent, very courteous, very kind. Highly recommend based on that experience.

We have been long time customers of this particular store. Tim, Tom, and Gary have always been trust worthy and never have sold us repairs we didn’t need. Recently I brought our truck in with alignment problems. They could have sold me repairs I didn’t need because of my trust in them. Instead, they figured out the problem, fixed it, then didn’t charge me. Probably not a great economic gesture, but one that further Instills our trust in them.

So… NOBODY likes having to take your ride in to get serviced. It’s boring, intimidating (for those of who had friends in h.s. and didn’t sit around working on our cars… no offense but…) and can be VERY costly!
Gary and his crew are LIFE SAVERS! Reliable, HONEST, skilled and personable. I’ve been coming here for a LONG time and even though I live in Tempe and there is another Advanced Goodyear 1 block from my place, I still make the drive up to this location.
My mother, father, brother as well as many of my friends rely on these guys to do the right thing… haven’t heard a bad report yet.

What a remarkable company. Service on all types of vehicles and in all types of situations. I’ve even sent my teenage daughter in here to learn how to get service for her vehicle.
So when my Prius tripped on a parking curb, detaching the under plate which we’d screwed back in place after my last overly-​exuberant encounter with a parking curb, I headed to Advanced for a quick fix.
Quick because I had to drive back to LA the next day, and wasn’t sure what to expect. These guys protected me! They could have made so many self-​serving choices (and I wouldn’t have known any better), but they didn’t. They decided to be cautious and conservative for me, instead of sales-​driven for themselves. In fact, tho they zip tied the wind plate to the car for me, spending their time and energy, they refused to take even a penny in payment.
These are nice people. People of integrity. They’ve got my business for life.

I left my car off for AC service on a Saturday. They were very courteous and professional and explained everything in detail. They were supposed to close at 5:00 but stayed open to complete my service. When I picked up my car, they gave me a $ 30 coupon. How nice is that! I definitely recommend them to anyone.

I give them the two stars for the oil change but not for the tires. Oil change was fine they were mindful and got the job done in the hour. What bothered me is they quoted me for a set of tires. I set an Appt for the following weekend. This was about 10 mi from my place. I got to my tire appt and they inform me they quoted me the wrong tires and it would be 50 $ more. I had them search for tires comparable to the price they originally quoted me… They said the tires would be in later in the day… No problem. Where they were deducted stars was when I got in my car to go home (knowing I would have to come back again layer) my car smelled like someone had smoked in it. I’m not a smoker and I’m extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke so I know when someone was lit up. I did not come back… Not a way to win over clients… Pass on this place.

Again, I have had a great experience with Advanced Auto Service & Tire Centers. I was having issues with my car’s idle, to the point that it was stalling if I had the AC on. I spoke to Tom Catalfano, manager at the Scottsdale/​Fountain Hills location and explained my situation. He went out of his way again to help me, his team found the issue, fixed it and had the tires rotated and oil changed. All done within a ½ day of speaking to Tom.

I have been coming to Advanced through 3 personal cars, and since before I could drive with both my mother and grandfather. Once again I called Monday to Gary (a guy I have known for the 8 years I’ve taken my personal cars there) and he had the part I need and an appointment set for me today. They were ready to take in my car 10 minutes before my appointment, and I got to catch up with them about life, family, car loveliness.
Every time I come in, my car is in the hands of the same awesome technicians since I had my Pontiac in 2005. They have seen all my cars and problems and today got my repair and oil change done in about 40 minutes flat. Yes please!
If you are looking for a place that takes care of its customers no matter what, and someone you can call «car family,» I’ve got ya covered. Also, if they can’t do the work (bumpers) they always have personal recommendations for who can. (I got in a fender bender, and Gary suggested a great body shop down the road, that was awesome. See: other review for Auto Ranch) They have great fair prices, know you by name and by car, and will do whatever it takes to get your repairs done for you.

I moved to Arizona … close to 10 years ago.
My battery failed … during the first summer.
This Advance Location, is located 3 blocks from, my residence.
They replaced my battery, with a new one … with a 108 month warranty.
This battery at this time … was $ 85 installed.
AS OF YESTERDAY … I’m on my 4th replacement, of the originasl battery.
The three previous batteries have lasted, anywheres from 2 to 3 years.
All of my 3 battery replacements under warranty … HAVE COST $ 15 each to replace.
They have many locations throughtout the Valley … great place for batteries.
