Dawn is the blonde master! Many hair dressers can do a good job, but it takes someone that truly understands color to get the right shade of blonde. I have gone to too many people and left with brassy or orange-​ish type of hues which is the worst! After going to Rustic Hair Studio, my hair came out icy blonde, and with a beachy style, and the color did not fade at all up until my next appointment.
As for the salon, super comfortable, Dawn is so friendly, prices are great, and it is very accessible, right off of Scotts Valley Drive. She has appointments later in the day (after work around 6) and can text you for your appointments— super convenient.
So happy I found her, I would recommend her to anyone looking for an upgrade in their look!

Dawn is by a long shot the BEST hair stylist I have ever had! I was referred to her by a friend who has amazing hair (duh!) and now will never even consider going anywhere else. I’ve received several services from her: chemical straightening, color and cuts — all with amazing results. Dawn is sweet, kind and honest. Sitting in the chair for hours is a breeze. I can’t say enough great things! She will NOT disappoint.

I’m being daring and going for a drastic change from dark brown to a lighter/​almost bleach blonde color. So I needed to have someone who knew what they were doing and not fry my hair with bleach! Dawn knew exactly how to color my hair beautifully AND maintain the healthiness of my hair! I will continue to go back to Rustic Hair Studio without hesitation! And to top it off, Dawn is hilarious!

Moving from Minnesota and having a hair stylist there for 13+ years, I was hesitant to go to anyone else. When I first got to CA, I tried many different salons in hopes to find someone just like that woman I was seeing in MN. I had no luck what so ever until I found Dawn. I had gotten my hair done by someone in Capitola, and it was completely ruined — I was about to fly back to MN to get it fixed that night. Literally. I had asked for a subtle ombré style, and the lady made me look like I had dunked my hair in a bucket of bleach. It was terrible. I called Dawn’s salon right away and she got me in the next morning. She completely fixed a horrible thing and made my hair beautiful again. Dawn is the GREATEST! She can do anything and has great customer service. Her salon is amazing, and I am so glad that I can end my search for a new hair stylist! Thanks Dawn!

Kim has been dealing with me for years — I am high maintenance and she still sees me! ;) She is great, she listens, she pays attention, and she recaps your request/​direction before proceeding. She knows her stuff, she is confident enough to ask questions if something is unclear, and she works with her clients to make sure you walk away loving your cut/​color. She truly cares for her clients and I am sure that is why we all keep coming back. Thanks Kim!

Had the good fortune to stumble upon Kimmie after my former «professional» canceled on me yet again, just before a big event. I have now been going to Kimmie for 5 or 6 years. Not only is she a whiz at perfect highlight/​color/​cut, she is ALWAYS on time, and such a fun and wonderful person to spend time with while she works her magic. I went to others in the past, and never have I received the kind of compliments I get now with Kimmie’s work. Was just there today and my hair looks and feels great. I always look forward to my visits with Kimmie.

Kimmie continues to perform magic on my hair every visit. She listens to my styling wishes. I always receive compliments on my hair color. She is on time and makes me feel comfortable.

Kimmie is the bestest! She’s been my stylist for almost 5 years and I constantly get compliments on not only my hair color but my cut as well. She’s a master colorist who really takes the time to not only cover all my grays (I’m not even 40 yet haha) all while giving me a shiner and natural look! It even grows out cool! After a horrible hack job, I found Kimmie and thank my lucky stars everyday! She listens to her clients, often knows what I want without much direction and really treats you like a professional should.

She is up to date with the current products and styles and goes to many seminars to stay current. She is very talented and I would highly recommend her.
