Gourmet To Go

I found Gourmet To Go through a Google search. I was looking for someone to teach my 18 year old daughter a few things before she moved out, such as food safety, chopping technique and how to make a few foods in advance so she doesn’t end up living off of take out sushi…
Elizabeth came to our house totally prepared. She brought many of her own condiments and spices, all organic. She made my daughter do EVERYTHING as she patiently guided her through roasting a chicken, deboning and steam cooking salmon, making her own sauces and gravy and more. I was totally impressed, as was my daughter.
We will definitely have Elizabeth back for more instruction!

We want to applaud Elizabeth Bourget for recently preparing a wonderful «Summer Celebration» dinner for eight. All were very impressed with the colorful display of a beautiful organic feast gracefully presented with perfect timing. We especially enjoyed the Mustard Roasted Salmon w/​Lingonberry Sauce, Broiled Halibut w/​Roasted Pineapple Basil & Saffron Salsa and fantastic Peach Cobbler a la Mode. The appetizers and side dishes were outstanding too! At the end of the evening, our kitchen looked as if no one had been there!

Wow! This food is so good. I have to admit I was just a tiny bit skeptical, but I was totally blown away at how great my dinner was tonight. The ingredients are obviously very fresh and of the highest quality. The seasonings are perfectly measured and create a really refined flavor profile. It is exceptional, to say the least!
My dinner tonight included a green salad (excellent mix of greens) with strawberries and a strawberry vinaigrette dressing. The combination sounded a bit odd to me at first, but I love to try new things. The salad was incredible. Definitely something I would never have thought of, but I can’t wait to have it again! Really awesome! Also, more affordable than I expected. I would highly recommend Elizabeth as a personal chef to anyone. Her cuisine is truly «gourmet.»

Elizabeth is a fun, very organized, creative and highly talented chef who just provided our office staff with a second amazingly yummy holiday dinner this year at our home. Even though her culinary creations are complex, she handled the prep with calm grace and everything was ready on time. Her daughter who is also delightful acted as her assistant to assure the appetizers, soup, entrée and sides were all delicious and perfectly timed to our group’s schedule. I truly appreciate Elizabeth’s choice of organic local ingredients and her sensitivity to any food restrictions.

Definitely request her Giant Pancake which is a gorgeous pop-​over like pastry shell that’s filled with yummy yogurt and topped off with mixed berries. Just lovely! She makes a great coconut curry shrimp stir-​fry dish that is delicious too. Most importantly, Chef Bourget is highly professional in every aspect of her business from the initial consultation to the finished product. «Gourmet to Go» catered my daughter’s wedding to the rave reviews of all who attended. The food was scrumptious and plentiful and embraced our tastebuds with some of the most flavorful spices imaginable. Chef Bourget’s creativity in the kitchen was only surpassed by her pleasant and charming demeanor. We found her helpful and informative in planning our menu and most reliable in carrying out our wishes to the letter. She made our experience of that most special day all the more memorable. I have been enjoying Chef Bourget’s delectable entrees for several years now, and she is not only in incredible chef but has a great sense of humor which makes it even more fun to have her in your kitchen. I am impressed with her professional service while making you feel special with her personal approach. Some of my favorites are her Salmon in a mustard sauce, her Pomegranate Salsa with grilled Prawns, incredible desserts, and lots of smiles, she enjoys what she does.

Three years ago, we had the pleasure of enjoying Elizabeth’s delightful and delicious cooking demonstration in our home (with our brand newly remodeled kitchen!) to celebrate my husband’s 60^th birthday. She was personable and cordial to our guests, shared her recipes, and created an elegant experience for us all. Last weekend, for my 70^th birthday, we called on Gourmet to Go again. And again, Elizabeth was sensitive to our needs. She accommodated the food restrictions of several of our guests and presented the food in an attractive way. It was so lovely to be able to relax and enjoy my own party, knowing that everything would be taken care of an that our kitchen would be immaculate when she left. Thanks, Elizabeth!

the halibut in mango sauce was outstanding. the curried chicken was dry. the coconut rice was ok, nothing special. this might work for people who can’t cook at all, though. unfortunately, chef B arranged for delivery and was 1 hr late, then when she didn’t find me, went to the office of my complex complaining that i had missed our appt, talking smack about me to everyone. not cool. then instead of correcting her error and coming back out, made US go all the way to scotts valley from aptos to pick up the food. her attitude that i should have waited until she felt like coming by was very disrespectful of my time. we had set an appt, and i even waited an hour past that, and she did not show. then she tried to lie saying she came earlier, as if i wouldn’t have seen her. really disappointing. too bad, i would have ordered that fish again.

Yum! A personal chef who will come to your home and create an incredibly delicious, customized dinner for you to enjoy with your friends and family for a special event? Yes, please! Chef Bourget is a very creative, talented chef. I find her services ideal for parties when you don’t want the hassle of dealing with the kitchen yourself. And, at the end of the night, everything is left immaculate. Highly recommend!
