Specialties

Baymonte Christian School is an independent, interdenominational Christian school serving preschool though eighth grade students. The school’s curriculum integrates a Christian world view while challenging and preparing our students for high school and beyond. We emphasize a culture of compassion through student participation in local and international service projects. Extra-​curricular activities include music, athletics and clubs. Baymonte is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Christian Schools International. In 2003 Baymonte was awarded the National Blue Ribbon School Award from the United States Department of Education.

History

Established in 1968.

Baymonte Christian School was founded in 1968 through of the vision of Glennon Culwell, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Scotts Valley. Pastor Culwell recruited David Wallace, the founder of Valley Christian Schools in San Jose, to implement his vision and develop a new independent Christian school ministry, benefiting Santa Cruz County students.

This review is for the pre school.
Love the teachers, education, free play, and prayer.
A 4 star rating instead of 5 because the pre school is closed 6 weeks during the year with no alternate day care offering. This is a logistical challenge as I don’t have family nearby, but fortunately I have a flexible full time job that helps me juggle. Other pre schools have less closures, but I don’t like their education and we love Baymonte too much to leave.

Worth its weight in gold for an excellent education with small class sizes and teachers that are teaching for the love of teaching and enriching children’s life.
Over the years my children have attended there have been a couple of hurdles, but overall a wonderful experience. Also, your child will learn life skills and conflict resolution that you, unfortunately, will not find at a public school.

We feel so blessed to have our three children at Baymonte, (preschool, 1st grade, and 3rd grade). Our children are challenged and encouraged to work to the best of their individual abilities. They are loved and cared for beyond what we could have ever asked for from the teachers and the staff.
