Had a fantastic experience here over the weekend… Janet is extremely knowledgeable in horticulture from A-​Z and helpful with everyone she came across Thank you Parker Gardens… we will be back

I came here with my 2 young sons for a private event with a mom’s group. We had the back room to ourselves. We decorated pumpkins, rode a tractor/​hay ride, went through a maze, and rode sleds down a hill. My review is based solely on those activities; I didn’t pay attention to their products or prices.
The woman who was organizing our group was very nice. She even pushed my stroller around the property so I could go on the hay ride with me sons. She kept us moving along but at a good pace.
Decorating pumpkins was fine. The tractor ride took us around the front of the property, stopped in the back so we could get off and do other activities, then took us back to the front to end. You’d think they would maybe decorate the area where people will be going on the tractor, or at least clean it. There were old rusty shelves and other broken junk all around. The maze was a joke. It was just string tied to posts in a maze-​ish shape. All the kids just ran under it to the end or back to the beginning. The sled ride was a small hill and old snow sleds, some were broken. The kids enjoyed it though.
It wasn’t horrible but they really need to clean up their space if they’re going to be taking people back there.

I really like this place. They have a great selection, healthy plants and at good prices. Cheaper than nurseries in Westfield.

I have purchased numerous plants and mulch from Parkers. Although the staff is courteous I do not like the product. Everywhere I used their mulch I have dog vomit fungus. I have found a lot construction pencils in the mulch. It is clear they just ground up any wood product you can find and dyed it black.
I have purchased some very expensive plants they sold as perinnials that did not survive the winter. They replaced the first one with a much smaller and less expensive one, which survived. But, I have a much smaller plant that will take longer to reach maturity. The other two that didn’t survive they have said they will replace.
The problem is, I have to do the work twice. My garden is very important to me. I do a lot of work to maintain it and I don’t like doing work twice.
I will go to other nurseries from now on.

Total Ripoff. Where does this place get off charging 250 per cent more then Home Depot? Aside from over charging the staff is ignorant about the products and rude. Trying to support this local business is insulting as they could care less about a customer. Hate to say it because I live in scotch plains but Williams Nursery in Westfield beats this place with service and reasonable pricing

Great selection of outdoor décor

Went looking for flowering trees and shrubs, having bought 2 trees from Parker in the early/​mid 0’s, but their selection was poor. Greenhouse plant selection was otherwise fine.

Went here for some flowering shrubs and Easter plants on the day before Easter. Very disappointed in the selection. And the prices were ridiculously high for the quality. No displays to speak of and outside yard in real disarray. Will be our last trip. Go to Ash’s on Rt 206 in Hillsboro instead… Amazing selection and great prices.

Very unique garden center.

Parker used to be open only to the trade, but its been open to the public for several years. While they have a large selection the quality leaves a lot be desired. Most of the plants I’ve bought here have not survived for long. This is particularly disappointing because their prices tend to be higher than average. Their customer service seems to at the same level of quality as the plants, poor. When you can find someone they don’t tend to be very knowledgable. There are lots of other options in the area, so you can avoid this one.
