This is the closest grocery store to our house, so I have a love/hate relationship with it. I like the store, but like others say the prices are higher. I never ever mind paying, but for example, their gluten free section needs an update. Some of the products such as «Bob’s Red Mill» products are expired. And, by expired, I mean a year expired. I understand that specialty items don’t move as fast, i.e. «gluten free», but check your stock. You must justify your prices somewhere.

I’ve shopped at SVT for many years, and since the renovation in Schererville I have become very disenchanted with this store. It appears they’re trying to compete with Whole Foods… not gonna happen. Since the renovation I’ve noticed increased prices. Last week I wanted to pick up some deli ham. Rather than wait in a long line I decided to pick some of the fresh cut ham from the cooler directly across from the deli. I believe they call it «pick up and go» or something similar. The ham must have been sitting there a while as it had turned from that appetizing pink to white and not very appetizing. I believe this store has lost touch with it’s customers. Maybe more folks will start heading to Walt’s

I have been a Stracks shopper for 30 years. Lately since the re-model prices have skyrocketed and service has declined. Try a little trip to the deli… guaranteed half hour wait in line. Nothing in a sensible order in the aisles… bread in first aisle so you can put all your heavy can goods and meat on top of it. Quit trying to be a Whole Foods wanna be… have you seen their parking lot lately? Lately I have been shopping Walts… smaller store, same brand names… cost less.

Quality is really going downhill in all the stores. And prices going up. I’ll be going to whole foods, aldi, and local butchers.

Just an average store. They have sales quite often so prices are reasonable. Their produce and meat is good. But their deli is not always fresh. You have to get there early for fresh lunch meat. Their bakery doesn’t have much of a variety. It’s not abad store, I go there because it’s 2 blocks away. Wouldn’t bother if i lived further.

The best grocery store in NWIN by far. Great bakery, produce, deli, and even fresh sushi.

Why do I feel like the moment I walk in there, I am getting mugged-unknowingly. Seriously, the prices are a bit insane. Yes, their produce is fresh and their meat looks good(though they lack the extensive selection of Meijer) but the prices are much higher. I always feel like their bakery looks good but anything you get is just ok. If I am going to spend $ 10 on a cake, it better be the best cake I have ever eaten in my life.
