Love Hibachi Express. We were first drawn to Hibachi because it offers free online ordering for pickup and delivery. At this point, we have tried a large variety of their menu and most dishes have been superior to other Chinese restaurants. Another draw is that they offer some Thai and Japanese options. We are not sushi fans and haven’t tried any, so I can’t comment on that. While we would love it if they had Pad See Ew on their menu, their Pad Thai hits the spot when we want some Thai noodles. Our go-to menu items(and these are consistently excellent) are: Shrimp Pad Thai(with no peanuts), Chicken with Mushrooms(PERFECT for mushroom lovers! This is packed with large-sized, FRESH halved mushrooms and good quality chicken in a savory brown sauce that’s similar to a gravy), the spicy Thai Basil Chicken(Delicious sauce, good quality chicken, and lots of sauteed onions, zucchini, and eggplant), and the broccoli and eggplant in garlic sauce(for eggplant lovers). As far as the more typical Chinese menu fare that we tried: everything was passable, but we probably wouldn’t order them again(General Tso’s Chicken, Lo Mein). Not that there was anything wrong with them; it was the same as every other place. While we haven’t eaten in the restaurant, we have gotten our orders delivered and for carryout. The service is always prompt and generous, and the workers(especially the nice man who delivers the food) are extremely friendly. We’ve never had a problem with being charged for delivery or getting the wrong thing. For selection, price, flavor, and service, Hibachi is always my go-to for Chinese delivery in Schenectady.

I have to say I’m absolutely disappointed in this place. In Schenectady, a good Chinese place is hard to find. There are choices every 2 miles, but that doesn’t mean they’re all great. I thought Hibachi Express was one of the great ones and it’s not anymore. Here is the evidence: First Occasion: I ordered beverage and they forgot about it, so I called them up and the guy was confused about the entire question. He thought I ordered from a different location. They send the driver back with the beverage I ordered with no compensation to the inconvenience. Second Occasion: Hibachi Express advertises«Free Delivery, $ 10 Minimum» Since I was only ordering for myself my order came to about 11.33, I’ve clearly met the $ 10 minimum and am told my price was 11.33, yet when the driver comes I’m told 12.33 and that there was a delivery charge. I said, there is no delivery fee when the order is over $ 10, the driver just laughed at me. Needless to say, I’m no longer a fan of Hibachi Express.

I have to give this place a big thumbs up for improvement! I’ve ordered from here 4 or 5 times and the food and service have gotten better each time! The sushi is a bit sloppy looking, but fresh and tasty. I think most things I’ve ordered seem to need a bit more flavor, but overall, they taste good. The delivery drivers are always super friendly! I would love to see a few more vegetarian Thai dishes, guys! Keep up the good work!

I literally just ordered from here and I was seriously disappointed. The lo mein was incredibly bland, and the hit and sour soup tasted like they poured a bottle of pepper in it. Even the Thai springs rolls had hardly any taste.

I stopped at Hibachi Express(formerly Lucky Kitchen) for dinner takeout recently. Like before, the place has a spacious dining area with the counter in the back and the same old school booths, but with new hard wood floors and a fresh coat of paint on the lime green colored walls. The kitchen is behind closed doors. The menu offerings are predominantly Americanized Chinese dishes, plus they offer hibachi/teriyaki dishes, noodle soup, sushi, Bento boxes, and Thai dishes. The prices here seem reasonable, items are priced under $ 11. 33 Combo Specials are offered for Lunch($ 4.95-$ 5.75) and Dinner($ 6.95-$ 7.75). 7 Teriyaki Specials are offered for $ 4.99-$ 7.49. I ordered the #3 Shrimp Teriyaki Special($ 5.49 plus tax) with mixed vegetables and plain lo mein noodles, which was cooked to order and ready in under 10 minutes. The baby shrimp were very soft and deveined. The vegetables(chopped cabbage, broccoli, & carrots) were on the watery side and slightly overcooked. The lo mein noodles were firm cooked right and had a sweet taste. The food I ordered was decent and the portion size was right sized for the price.
