Business Owner

Dr Glenn received his Bachelor and Doctorate Degrees in dental surgery from the University Of Illinois College Of Dentistry, after graduating from Indiana University.

Dr. Shulkin was charter member of the Board of Directors and a member of the Finance Committee of the International Academy of Laser Dentistry (1990). He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Laser Dentistry, a member of the American Society of Lasers in Medicine 7 Surgery, the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, the International Society of Laser Dentistry, the American Academy of Dental Group Practice, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Greater O’Hare Association, and a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Institute. He has earned hundreds of hours of continuing education.

If you like the atmosphere of an open concept, no privacy working area on you, then this would be the place to go. They take you back into an area that is only separated by a knee high cabinet from the next patient and when you have to have x-​rays they share the machine between the two, wiping it down with a alcohol wipe. Then, after the x-​rays, they tell you you will need to see the periodontist for «deep cleaning» and WILL NOT surface clean your teeth. Even thou there is NO calcium buildup to warrant the procedure or the procedure isn’t going to help your gum issues any way. Then the dentist comes over and discusses your findings for the next chair to hear. NO PRIVACY AT ALL. Like another person mentioned, Marilyn is the most RUDE person. Ask her a question about cost of a procedure and she has this attitude about it, like «you have your nerve». The Hygienists and Dentist were nice, but this place is no more than a price gouge operation.(example: $ 575 to pull ONE tooth! My old dentist, Dr. Glinos in Schaumburg, that doesn’t carry my ins now, $ 100.) It doesn’t appear you can go in for what YOU want done, but what they INSIST you have done. If a fraction of a star or negative star was available, that’s what they would get from me.

I do not recommend this place at all they over charge by a lot. They will give you a price your suppost to pay after insurance then you will get a bill for even more my insurance comp told me they over charge for all there services compared to most places. I had them call my insurance while i was there and told me i would owe $ 90. I payed them and still got another bill for 68.00 This happens every time. My wife just went in with a tooth ache and was told she needed 2400 worth of work 1400 after ins. she went to another place and was quoted 1200 before insurance. Now we have come to find out allot of people complain about them.

I’m a part of their in-​house plan, so I’ve been back and forth for many visits. The dentists and dental assistants are great, don’t get me wrong. I have had a lot of excellent services such as root canals, crowns, and more done at TDS. I am dissatisfied with the lack of transparency in pricing, and value of their services. I have been back for 3 pretty expensive treatments and each time, I am quoted a price prior to the treatment that is less than what they eventually charge me after the treatment is done.

I’d gone to the Dental Store for many years starting in 2006. They are still, hands down, the most competent & professional dentists I’ve ever had. Dr Glenn, who is fantastic, was pretty much my primary but I did see others & their Ortho as well. I never left an appointment feeling anything but like the work I got done was exceptional and all of it long lasting. Everyone was always friendly, funny, & professional.
Now that I live in Cali I am nervous to have to find another primary dentist. after my experiences with the Dental Store my expectations are pretty darn high.

I really appreciate the staff at The Dental Store. Because of my jaw disorder I’m not the easiest to work on, but Dr Glenn really goes out of his way to make sure I’m comfortable. The office is always clean, the technology is up to date, and everyone is friendly throughout my visits. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

As a new patient I showed up 25 minutes before my appointment, only to sit an additional 20 minutes after my scheduled time, waiting. Very unprofessional and rude, especially to a new patient. The appointment is pretty much a waste of my time as all they do is take X-​rays and send me on my way and schedule the cleaning for another day since apparently there was not enough time to complete it. I’m now sitting in the office waiting on the second appointment and its 20 minutes an counting after the scheduled time. As soon as the dental work that I need done is completed, I will not be returning, and I will be telling others not to waste their time with this ridiculous office that can’t seem to read a clock.

Don’t go to the Dental Store! My friend the retired dentist told me, but I asked her too late! They hire uncaring people who do not listen to you or answer your questions.
My dentist talked as tho I was not in the room and would not make eye contact with me.
When I complained about the work she had done, she ignored me and told me she didn’t like doing the work! The assistant was rough and I had several cancer sores after a visit after having things shoved in my mouth and hung there so she didnt have

I am a patient here, and I’ve always had a good experience. I’ve had a number of fillings, and a root canal. The root canal was painless, and I remained pain free after. I realize everyone’s mouth is different and people react the procedures in various ways.
They work seamlessly with my insurance, I have a good idea of what I will owe after the insurance pays its portion.
The staff is amazingly nice, sweet, and accommodating.

Wish I had thought to check out Unilocal prior to going to this practice. I never in my life had such a truly painful experience. From the nerve block injection (yes I know that if they get the injection in the «sweet spot» it will hurt, however I also know if done properly and slowly it can be an easy process too) to nearly a month later there was immense pain. After two weeks I saw another dentist in the firm who indicated there was nothing wrong, I should just keep taking the Advil unless I wanted to see the oral surgeon. Not one x-​ray taken, not an inspection of the tooth. Another week passed and I was still in pain, a phone call later the original dentist indicated he had never heard of jaw pain after a temp crown and he’d have to look into it. Oh, but he was off tomorrow so it would have to wait until the following day. Not exactly what a woman in pain wants to hear. When the dentist did call back with his thoughts, «It could be a muscle strain, continue the medication». There was no «come to the office and let’s look at the tooth» no follow up call with a «how is it» and certainly no apparent concern for my discomfort. That’s it, I’m outta here.
After nearly a month of Advil every 4 hours, I went to another practice, turns out I needed a root canal. The pain was referring to my jaw from the tooth. Guess what? Nearly pain free!

I have to say, this was one of my better if not best experiences with a dentist.
I had 4 extractions done at one time, with an extremely bad gum infection; I was in a lot of pain.
Everything was explained to me in advance, I was even called the day before my procedure and told exactly how much was not covered under my insurance.
The dental nurse Tammy was very nice and very helpful, she was very clear in her instructions and very patient with my nervousness and very reassuring.
The Dentist was clear with his instruction & he worked out a game plan with me to fix all of my dental issues, understood my cost concerns and wasn’t pushy with pricey procedures and gave me clear alternatives.
The dentist gave me his card and instructed me to call him at any hour of the night if the pain got any worse, and reassured me that it’s okay to call at 3am or any hour if I needed to do so.
The office was clean and nicely decorated. Everyone was generally pleasant and patient and concerned with my wellbeing.
I have had some horrible experiences with dentist in the past which have made me very fearful of dentists, but if future experiences with this office are the same as my last, I will never be hesitant to see a dentist again.

I called The Dental Store this past Saturday morning after the enamel around a very old filling broke away the night before. I’ve had terrible dental experiences in the past so needless to say visiting the dentist is MY WORST NIGHTMARE… but, for the first time EVER I walked away pain free a few hours later after thanking Dr. Ron for taking such good care of me so quickly. Very nice staff too!

I sent the revew below to the practice in letter form.
The office staff, and the owner called me within a few days of reciept. They seemed concerned about the care I recieved, and wanted to make an effort to fix what happened. I will now be under the care of a new dentist at the same practice. His efforts were enough to make me want to try at least one more visit.
