I forgot all about DART until the day I found their telephone number and pamphlet posted on a wall at the Schaumburg Metra. I haven’t used their service since the day I got my driver’s license.
My friends and I used to refer to it as Dollar-​A-​Ride because it cost us a $ 1.00 each way to travel anywhere within the Schaumburg Township. Today, it costs $ 2.00 for a one way trip.
It has given me some independence to get around the Village on my own by providing door to door service.
I just have to call ahead and make reservations. They start taking calls at 5:30am during the week and 8:30am on Saturdays. DART picks up regularly from Woodfield Mall.
