Whitmarsh Beverage Center

Whitemarsh Beverage Center, near the intersection of US-​80 and the Islands Expressway, looks like an ordinary quick-​stop package store that sells beer and wine.
Don’t be fooled: They have a surprisingly good selection of wine. My partner is a wine aficionado, and she knows her wine. They had whites from Nelson/​Marlboro Sound, New Zealand, Australian Syrahs, Oregon Pinots, California Zinfandels and much more. We were shocked to find good wines in a strip mall halfway between Savannah and Tybee Island, but it’s definitely a good little shop. They have wine reviews (wine spectator, etc.) on cards near bottles, and all the trappings of a sophisticated wine shop. But they are nominally a package store in a strip mall, with most patrons looking for beer or hard liquor.
