Specialties

We’re Savannah’s only gamer pub! The Chromatic Dragon features a unique mix of delicious food, frosty beverages, and games of all kinds: board games, video games, party games, tabletop RPGs and more.

For gaming, we’ve got it all. Console games like Mario Kart, Diablo III and Mortal Kombat. Board games like Settlers of Catan and party games like Munchkin or Cards Against Humanity. Come get your RPG on, or hit the CCGs like a master. And we’ve also got traditional bar games, too: Cornhole, Giant Jenga, Giant Connect Four and Wednesday Night Geeky Trivia!

The Chromatic Dragon offers more than just basic grub! Our menu features the kind of food you might expect from a gastro-pub, like our Starfox Barrel Rolls, Firefly sliders and even a 12-ounce ribeye called The Knight Astorius. And we’ve got pub classics, as well, like Murloc & Chips and Nachos of Mt. Doom!

You’ll never go thirsty at The Chromatic Dragon, because we offer over 50 different draft beers, craft beers, cocktails, ciders, and wines! Plus, there is no additional charge for gaming! As long as you’re ordering delicious food and drinks, you can enjoy our console and board games and, of course, free WiFi both inside and outside on our covered patio.

History

Established in 2015.

The Chromatic Dragon is located at 514 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, in the space formerly occupied by Bub-Ba-Q and Blown’ Smoke. After a successful Kickstarter campaign in January 2015, the team began the months-long process of renovating the space to fit the needs of geeky gamers and nerdy diners. Several couches were added to create «gaming pits» and the back-room bar was converted into a console gaming bar, with half a dozen screens and console systems like Xbox, PlayStation and Wii U.

The Chromatic Dragon is closely affiliated with The Guild Hall, a community for creative people, so we reached out to local artists and artisans to design an amazing experience from the moment you walk through the door. For example, we commissioned a local artist to create a stunning three-panel stained glass treatment for the transoms above the doors and a local team of metal crafters to design a custom zinc bar-top, complete with inlaid dragons and harpies along the edge.

Business Owner

Clegg Ivey is an entrepreneur and co-founder of The Guild Hall, The Chromatic Dragon, 8-Bit Donuts, and Redux Beverages.

As a tech lawyer in the late 90s, Clegg was on the team that beat Microsoft in the Browser Wars and the RIAA in the MP3 Wars. His clients included Hasbro (on the acquisition of Wizards of the Coast), Apple (fighting the good fight against Microsoft) and Google (on its initial patent portfolio).

Clegg is an adjunct professor at both Tulane University in New Orelans and Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, where he teaches entrepreneurship, technology and public policy.

Clegg is obsessed with RPGs. He prefers Forgotten Realms to any other campaign setting, but really enjoys playing with new RPG systems, like the Cypher System developed by Monte Cook for Numenera and The Strange. As a video gamer, he has been playing Fallout, Elder Scrolls and the D&D games using the Infinity and Aurora Engines (e.g., Neverwinter Nights, Baldur’s Gate, etc.) since the 1990s.
