Don’t waste your money. They say they are hop on hop off service… we saw very few trolleys as we were walking. They have no mobile app so there is no information on stops as you are wandering Savannah. They have a text us and we will pick you up service, but by the time you do that you could have walked to your destination. The one time we tried to «hop on» a trolley, we waved the driver down at the trolley stop, he waved back at us and kept going. The other trolleys seemed to be all over the place. Go with old town trolleys or Savannah trolleys. Stay away from Oglethorpe.

I highly recommend this trolley! Such great service and extremely accommodating. All the guides were fantastic. I learned more about Savannah than I could imagine. The guides are entertaining. The best way to tour the city. Worth every penny. Visit the website for extra discounts.

I am a native to Savannah and have been on multiple history and ghost tours around the city. We currently live in Atlanta and while visiting family over the holidays my 3 year old was dying to ride a trolley so we arranged for a tour through Gray Line Ogelthorpe tours.
My 3 year old of course loved the open air trolley and getting the chance to sit by the window but I think I enjoyed it just as much if not more than he did!
Whether you are a first time visitor or a native you MUST take a trolley ride. It is a fantastic way to learn about this charming city (or a refresher course) that’s rich of interesting history.
With your ticket you get a great guided tour through the historical district then after the tour, you can hop on and off all day until 5:30pm. There are stops all over the historic district that come by every ²⁰⁄₃₀ minutes. It’s a great way to get around. Add this as a Savannah To Do MUST!
Book with Gray Line Ogelthorpe (the blue trolley). They were WONDERFUL! Our tour guide, Stephanie was very knowledgeable, accommodating and nice. We loved it and will do it again!

This the tour to take to learn all about the history of Savannah. The lady was very knowledgeable! The pick up for the return was also very efficient. Highly recommended.

We decided to do the tour and stop halfway through for lunch as it had the hop-​on/​hop-​off option. When we started passing all the stops, it soon became clear that we had to do a full 90 minute tour, then could go back through the city doing hop-​on/​hop-​off. We just didn’t have time for that.
The buses themselves needed a little work. The wood was in need of repair, seat cushions coming apart. And there were multiple signs saying to tip the driver — a little overkill if you ask me.
The welcome center and check-​in left a lot to be desired as well. The awning on the building is rotting away and there is no time given for when your tour will start (we waited 35 minutes).
Their brochure boasts being the «Best Value» tour in Savannah. Which is true. But sometimes best value doesn’t always mean best in quality.

Oh… Sweet Savannah!!! I am so in love with you! This is another town I would move to in a heartbeat. We signed up for the Haunted Night Tour which started too early IMO. I would have liked it to be a little later like at dusk to get more of a spooky effect but it was still amazing!
The bus picked us up right by our hotel, the Cotton Sail, and was prompt. We were the only two on the bus when we first got on and that was SO nice! Like others have mentioned, the seats are not comfy at all. Its best if you can sprawl out on your own seat but sadly, we picked up others so we had to sit together! Sit on the right side of the bus! You will get to see way more!
Our guide was good but sounded very rehearsed and I get it. You say the same thing over and over again but she did a good job and I learned a lot about the history of Savannah and why its the most haunted city in America. We saw some really spooky things on our tour. A few things were really hokey though like telling us to download a ghost app…
What I felt was missing, was a short stop somewhere. Whether it would have been at the haunted park or someplace you could use the restroom if necessary, I think it would have been nice. I think making the tour two hours instead of 90 would be great with a stop. Yes… I did have to go to the bathroom which is why I probably wanted a stop but I cant believe I was the only one!
Sit on the right and go potty before you board and you will have a great time!

I highly recommend this trolley! Such great service and extremely accommodating. Joan and Denise were especially fantastic and if you get the opportunity to take a tour with one of them, you are in for a treat.

We took the historic trolley tour. The tour was okay but these tour companies should find a way to make more stops for people to take photos.
Shout out to Pookie for being funny, hilarious and making us laugh in the rain. Can’t remember our driver’s name who picked us up twice but she was awesome too.

I thought this was a really good trolley tour of Savannah, it is cheaper than other companies & you get a great value, I did the 90 minute tour where you stay on the whole time. Tour guide did a good job of pointing out certain highlights, we took her advice for a few of the highlights (Owens-​Thomas house & something else can’t remember) & were not disappointed. We then tried to do the hop on/​off afterwards, only did it once though because it was frustrating to keep waiting around for the trolleys to come, so I wouldn’t recommend the hop on/​off part really (for any trolley company) best bet is to just walk around Savannah. Maybe just do a trolley hop on if you’re going from one end to the next (like River Street to Forsyth park or something) better to just walk around :-)

Our tour with Chris Roberts was amazing!!! He was funny, very knowledgeable about the area and even showed us a couple of his favorite spots to eat as we saw the historic parts of Savannah. Overall this company is great. We appreciate the full tour then the capability to be dropped off and picked up at the destinations. Well worth the money. Thank you for a great experience in Savannah!

Great value and super convenient. Definitely recommend for people who want to get a lot of sight seeing done in one day. All the guides are really helpful and friendly.

I have recommended Oglethorpe for 8+ years at this point — recommended it as the only thing to do for my sister-​in-​law and her husband just last week. The guides are more knowledgeable than other companies, and the lower price is for no other reason than you’re paying for the tour, not all the promos, tie-​ins and ads that the Old Town trolleys are shoving into every hotel they can.
Every tour guide in Savannah has to pass a test to be a tour guide. It took me 3 tries (they also cost $ 75 each). The thing is — Oglethorpe tour guides make their own tours up from the history they know. Old Town guides… it’s a script. Seriously. So when you are on a trolley with your Red Hat group, or with your college buddies, do you want the same tour for both? No. Oglethorpe guides try their best to read the crowd, see what’s appropriate and go form there. The guides and staff are genuinely nice, decent people.
I will say this: A) Guides are people, not TV, and can hear you talking about them in the trolley B) please remember they’re real human people that deal with tourists who aren’t as nice as you all day.

Parking is free in two locations. Kiosk attendant was friendly and handled us promptly.
Once in the bus, though, our guide was rambling and often backtracked over the same streets. Seats were unpadded and started to ache after about 20 mins. Would not recommend for a stoutly built couple who wanted to sit together as the bench seats are only adequately sized. We disembarked at the first opportunity with no regrets.
If you got a better tour guide that would help somewhat, so your mileage may vary.
Also, the TOUR isn’t off and on, as advertised. You take the tour, then you get the option to hop off/​on.

We traveled with my 75 year old mother and thought the trolley ride would be a good alternative from walking around the city; this was a GREAT option. It was a wonderful way to see almost all of the downtown area and hear the history/​stories about the city. Definitely enjoyable and relaxing.

This was so much fun! The driver was informative and entertaining. I was happy to find they allow dogs on the tour. My shih tzu loved it! Next time I’m in Savannah, I will definitely be back!

Informative and entertaining. A trolley tour is the best thing to do when you are visiting any town to get a grip on where things are and where you want to go.
It was a 90 minute ride filled with a lot of facts and sightseeing. I learned things I otherwise would have completely overlooked.
I found coupons on their website for $ 3 off the regular price per rider.
Pookie was our driver. She is pretty funny and obviously knows her facts.
The ticket staff and the people who gather people and organize you aren’t the friendliest or the nicest but at least they don’t go on the trolley with you!

After researching options for city tours of Savannah, GA, for my wife and me, I chose Oglethorpe Trolley Tours, and I am so glad that I did. For less than $ 80.00 I purchased a combination package for the two of us that consisted of the Historic Savannah Trolley Tour and the Haunted Trolley Tour, the former operated during the day and the latter at night. Each tour was fully narrated and lasted about 90 minutes. Each had a different guide, and both were very informative and personable. We were picked up in front of our hotel at the start of the tours and, at our choosing, returned there at the finish.
The day tour covered the Savannah historic district, including the famous Savannah squares, and the waterfront. We were very impressed with the beauty of the city and found its social, economic, and political history fascinating.
The night tour covered numerous supposedly haunted houses and cemeteries in and around the historic district. It was a bit hokey but still a lot of fun.
Our combination package also included two days of unlimited on-​and-​off passes for trolley rides during the day along an established route with numerous marked stops (on street posts) through the most attractive parts of the city. (The advertising materials for Oglethorpe Tours do the company a disservice in that only a small number of the total number of stops is indicated.) We used this service exclusively to get around that eliminated the need to use a car or taxis.
All the Oglethorpe personnel that we encountered were extremely helpful. For instance, prior to booking the tour package I was unclear as to exactly what the tours included and what was the best value. I wound up speaking with supervisor Adam Wilkins, and as a result, I booked the combination package with him. Mr. Wilkins was extremely thorough and friendly in explaining all my options, and he even provided me with his cell phone number and asked that I call him should I encounter any problems or if I had any future questions. As another example, my wife misplaced her sunglasses while in Savannah. I called the company’s office and asked if her glasses had been found. The employee I spoke with checked, found the glasses that had been left on one of their trolleys, and had them hand-​delivered to our hotel within about 30 minutes.
Oglethorpe Trolley Tours provides very comprehensive and enjoyable tours as well as city transportation at a most reasonable cost, and it was a pleasure to deal with its extremely helpful employees.

This Savannah newbie didn’t know what to expect at all – and the description of this Trolley Tour (taking you all around the part of Savannah that matters) seemed like a good way to get my bearings at the beginning of a trip of a new town.
TICKLED BY THE TOUR
Debbie the tour guide’s voice reminded me of the triceratops from Toy Story – so while it didn’t sound authoritative, it gave a kinda cool, almost child-​like recitation of the sights. Plus it fit well with the corny side-​jokes Debbie would try. She gave a very good ‘quick view’ of Savannah in that 90 minutes and talked for a good 95% of that although most of it sounded very rehearsed. She pointed out the obvious sights but also cool architecture, iron works and art work. (Sad sad face) there really wasn’t time for questions during and at the end.
Great for the value – Groupon right now is giving an extra $ 4 off. It gave me a great overview of Savannah for the parts I wanted to walk and inspect closer on my own. Although mildly disorienting, the accompanying map the Tour gave everyone helped.
BIG TIP!!! Sit on the right side of the Trolley. During my 90-​minute tour I noticed about 90% of the attractions Debbie pointed out were on the right side.

This open-​aired Trolley allowed a breeze to pass through – luckily there’s lots of trees in Savannah too so the hot humid Georgia sun didn’t affect us at all. Although the Trolley itself isn’t much to look at (as well as the warehouse and parking lot where you first get boarded). It was still clean albeit worn out. I’d definitely take these guys again.
