Holiday Inn Savannah S – I-95 Gateway

Be prepared for the worst customer service of all Holiday Inn’s and I’ve probably stayed at more than 50 of them. Manager doesn’t even return your calls after filing complaint. Instead, you get the run around oh they will call you back. Book another Holiday Inn instead!

My room was very clean and comfortable. Big TVs in the room are perfect to catch the game. But you must go to the bar to visit Brad who is a great bartender! He was so attentive and went above and beyond to give us a wonderful dinner and football game experience!

This has been my worst experience. Got in lste frim being out in Savannah and the television would not come on. No one on site but the front desk clerk. She was busy checking people in and could not mive us because they were out if rooms except the suites and they would not move us there. After an hour and 3 remotes, it determine that it was a plug issue.
Night two, we got in late from dinner in Hilton Head and the room had not been serviced. We told housekeeping when we were leaving earlier that day that she could service tbe room and how many towels to leave. Again, the same person was on duty. We had to go get towels. She offered sheets, but this is Holiday Inn not My Inn. I have already done too much. I am being charged.
The second bed in the room had dirty sheets, so we decided to sleep in the same bed that we knew was clean, we hope. This hotel needs new management. I will be calling and writing corporate. I am a Hilton brand person. I am sticking to what I know.

This hotel’s owner and management are completely unscrupulous and will hustle you out of your money. Stay far, far away from this place. I am an IHG Rewards member, I obviously have no sort of vendetta against IHG or Holiday Inn Express. But, you have lots of other hotel options within walking distance. They tried to double charge me for a meal (once at the table, and again at checkout). They then called me two weeks after my stay claiming I «cut» a chair in the room and asked if I was «interested in paying for it.» Needless to say I was not interested. The next morning a $ 900 charge appears on my American Express account. I contacted the manager, who admitted that «the owner was the one pushing to charge me for the chair» and that she would talk to him. I have yet to hear back and she did not answer a later call I placed. I am taking every possible action available to me as a consumer at this time. If they refund me, I will gladly update this post. In the meantime, please STAY AWAY from here! I will NEVER stay at a Holiday Inn Express or IHG group hotel again.

Compared to other HIE I’ve stayed in, this one was short on quality. Room was dirty (used tissues by the night stand and behind the pillows. Bed linens looked worn. Giant jacuzzi tub in bathroom but no sink in bathroom.
Staff was friendly however morning Front desk manager was preoccupied and it took several attempts to get her to acknowledge the used tissues and condition of the room.

Rooms smelled. Never came to clean them at all or even empty the trash. Fan in bathroom didn’t work. Safe didnt work. Never changed out towels and made us come down to the desk to get everything. General sense of dirtiness.

Wanted a room for the night was told by friend of mine holiday in express had reasonable rooms. I walked in with somebody else I did not know. He asked the woman at the counter if they had any rooms available for the night and what the rate would be she quoted him $ 109 per night he then asked with that include a rollaway bed she told him yes. Meantime another customer comes up and wants to check out because the room was terrible. The woman at the counter called for help from the back office. I became a very unpleasant woman I asked her if she had a room available she said yes for 119 a night. I said I like to have the $ 109.00 a night rate. She said they had no raid like that I told the gentleman next to me walking at the same time and was walking and asked for a rate and get 109 at like to have that she then informed me he had requested a AAA rate. I heard the whole conversation with the other woman AAA was never mentioned. She said if I had AAA could get the 109 rate. I has to speak to manager she told me there was nobody on duty that would be no manager on duty until tomorrow morning. I asked her what was she would do if there was a fire or problem she said she would call the manager at home then asked me if I would like to do that and I said yes. She had a conversation with the manager and I could tell the manager didn’t want to talk to me after few minutes conversation with the other woman she give me the phone and the manager said that the black girl had no business quoting that 109 rate and white woman that I was dealing with was in charge but she wouldn’t argue over five dollars. The hotel must be having problems because the customer who just checking wanted to check out because of the dirty room. And wrong rates were quoted at the counter again and her words she said the black girl had no business doing that she was wrong. I sort of took offense to that because she was not a girl she was a woman as well as the white woman she never called girl she called her a woman. I felt the manager of the phone was racist and I was offended by her conversation. She said I’ll give you the room for 109.00. I told her know that I would find another hotel room when across the street at the Comfront Inn and get a beautiful room for 109.00

The Good: Rooms look nice.
The Bad: A/​C barely keeps one room cool. Majority of staff are rude and indifferent, toilet not working and your told «sorry, I don’t know where a plunger is. You’ll have to wait until tomorrow». No walk in shower for handicapped. Internet either doesn’t work at all or is painfully slow.
The Ugly: the snarl on the ladys’ faces when they told me breakfast ain’t open ’till 6:30.
Y’all have fun, hear. This boy ain’t coming back.

Great location, stopped there on the way to Florida.
Only gripe we had a suite and there were only 3 towels for 2 guests, told that’s how they were stocked, had to ask for more it was like pulling teeth.
Bedroom TV turns on but unable to go to another station either using both remotes or direct on tv.
Very limited on soap, no shower caps, unable to regulate heat only blows cold air.

Worst HI Express I have been to. No milk or cereal for breakfast, staff was indifferent. Bathtub filer was very dirty. Vacuuming the carpet during breakfast. I am a Gold Priority Member and stay at this brand all over the country. This was the worst.

The rooms are suites. I got in at 4 am and was greeted by two very awake receptionist. They only charge $ 35 for pets. My room is huge and has a two person whirlpool tub. The view is pleasant, because there is a wooded walking path for the pets in the back. 1mile away from a 24 hr Walmart. The best part was at 8 this morning I heard them start to vacuum. I called and told them I got in at 4 could they stop. I can’t believe they actually did. Didn’t say anything, but «of course». Great stop off the highway.

Stopped here for a quick overnight stay on the way to Orlando. We booked the room on
and got a pretty good deal. There was a couple of issues we had with the room. First of all, the door didn’t latch/​shut properly. I would let the door close by itself and it bounced back open. We called maintenance and they did come very quickly and fixed it. The bed was okay… the sheets didn’t feel good at all to me and I had a hard time sleeping. I originally pulled out the «pull-​out» couch and that was the most uncomfortable pull out i’ve ever experienced. The next morning, we woke up and took a shower. After I got out of the shower the bathroom was flooded! I guess there is a leak somewhere in the bathtub, I don’t know. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anybody. It was OK for a quick overnight stay, but I would hate to stay here for more than one night.
